November 24, 2021 -Qantas new flights – international flights from Melbourne take off again today for the first time in 20 months after the pandemic grounded international travel.

The national carrier will recommence scheduled international flights from Melbourne today with flight QF35 bound for Singapore departing at 11.50am.

Qantas new flights

Qantas has also announced it will launch a brand-new international route from Melbourne to Delhi from 22 December 2021, connecting Victoria to the Indian capital on a Qantas-operated flight for the first time in the airline’s history.

The new Melbourne-Delhi flight will operate four times a week, year-round. Same day connections will also be available from Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra. Flights from Melbourne to Delhi will initially operate via Adelaide, while flights from Delhi to Melbourne will operate nonstop.

This follows the recent announcement of flights from Sydney to Delhi, which start next month. When this route went on sale, Qantas saw the fastest booking surge for flights leaving Australia since the airline announced its international restart plans in August.

Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce said the relaunch of international flights from Victoria will pave the way for long-awaited reunions with loved ones, as well as help the state retain its position as one of Australia’s premier destinations for global travellers.

“Victorians have done it tougher than most over the past two years and we think many will see the restart of Qantas international flights as another important step towards life getting back to normal,” Mr Joyce said.

“We are starting to see more and more Victorians booking a much-deserved international getaway, and as borders open up to international visitors we’re expecting to see them visit Melbourne in large numbers, which will give local tourism and hospitality businesses a boost.

“The restart of our international flights is only possible because of the way Victorians and Australians more broadly have rolled up their sleeves to get the jab.

“While the past 20 months has undoubtedly been the most challenging in Qantas’ history, as we emerge from the crisis we are taking new opportunities to broaden our network in response to unprecedented pent-up travel demand. This is helping us bring more Qantas employees back to work.

Qantas will also relaunch flights from Melbourne-London on 27 November 2021 and Melbourne-Los Angeles from 19 December 2021.

While the international travel experience will largely be the same as pre-COVID, some things will look and feel a little different, particularly in the short-term.

Qantas has rolled out a range of new initiatives including a customised digital travel guide designed to help passengers navigate travel requirements before they leave home.

The launch of international flights coincides with the opening of the Qantas First Lounge at Melbourne International Airport.

While normally reserved for Platinum Frequent Flyers, Qantas will extend an invitation to customers travelling in Business, Gold Frequent Flyers and Qantas Club members to visit the First Lounge until the neighbouring Business Lounge reopens.

Customers will be offered a hybrid dining experience designed by Neil Perry featuring some of the most popular menu items from both the First and Business lounges, such as salt and pepper squid with green chilli dipping sauce, Neil’s pork and veal lasagna and the signature pavlova, as well as fine wines and barista coffee.

For a limited time, the menu will also feature chicken satays and vegetable samosas to celebrate the restart of Singapore flights and the new Melbourne-Delhi flights.

Qantas has reopened nearly all of its 35 Domestic Qantas Club and Business lounges across Australia.

It will open the remainder of its international lounges in Australia and overseas in line with the broader reopening of international borders and recommencement of the rest of Qantas’ international network.

The International Business Lounge in Singapore is on track to open early December. In the interim, eligible guests can use the SATS Lounge in Singapore.

All passengers on Qantas international flights are required to be fully vaccinated, unless they are under 12 years old, are 12-17 year olds travelling to Australia with their family or guardian or have an exemption. For full details, visit qantas.com.

Initial international flights are limited to Australian citizens, permanent residents and their immediate families and parents in line with Federal Government requirements. It’s expected this will be extended to other travellers in the coming months.

International flights are subject to Government and Regulatory approval

Ryanair Madeira Airport – new base

November 24, 2021 – 2 Based Aircraft, $200m Investment, 10 New Routes, 60 New Jobs

Ryanair, Europe’s largest and greenest airline, today (23rd Nov) announced the opening of its fifth base in Portugal with 2 new based aircraft, representing an investment of $200m alongside the introduction of 10 new routes – connecting Madeira with mainland Portugal and with 6 other European countries, positioning the region as a leading tourism destination.

Ryanair Madeira

Ryanair’s new Summer ‘22 Madeira base will deliver:

  • $200m investment
  • 2 based aircraft
  • 60 direct jobs
  • over 40 departing flights per week
  • 10 new routes – more than any other airline

Ryanair’s new base at Madeira represents its commitment to Portugal and further demonstrates Ryanair’s ability to rapidly rebuild Portugal’s tourism industry, with over 40 weekly flights across 10 new routes, including 5 exclusive routes, next Summer. Ryanair will operate over 160 Portuguese routes next Summer (over twice as many as TAP), to 15 countries, making Ryanair Portugal’s number one carrier for choice, fares and on time performance.

To celebrate the opening of its new Madeira base, Ryanair is launching an exciting seat sale with fares from just €29.99 for next Summer – fantastic news for those planning a relaxing summer holiday or an adventurous weekend excursion to Madeira. Known for its famously fine wine and stunning scenic mountain trails, these amazingly low fares are available until Thursday 25th November only, on Ryanair.com.

NEW SUMMER ‘22 ROUTES TO MADEIRA

Ryanair’s CEO Eddie Wilson said:

“We are delighted to announce the opening of our new base in Madeira, which will deliver increased connectivity with 2 based aircraft and 40 weekly flights across 10 new routes, connecting Madeira with cities such as London, Paris, Dublin, Milan and Manchester on a year round basis. This $200m investment will not only boost Portugal’s economy by driving vital tourism but will also create more than 60 direct jobs in the region and over 400 on-site jobs in Madeira.

Efficient operations and competitive airport charges provide the foundation from which Ryanair can deliver long-term traffic growth and increased connectivity. We worked closely with our partners in Madeira airport, Tourism de Portugal and APM to secure this growth and improve the services for those that live, work, or wish to visit the region.

At a time when other airlines are reducing their fleets and closing bases, we are delighted to continue to invest in both our people and airports in Portugal. We urge the Portuguese Govt. to do likewise by opening Lisbon-Montijo, scrapping the ill-timed aviation tax (which is a direct tax on tourism) and introducing a non-discriminatory traffic recovery scheme.  All of which could be easily funded with the €3.2bn of wasteful state aid granted to the small zombie airline TAP, by the Portuguese Govt.

Ryanair will operate over 160 Portuguese routes next Summer (over twice as many as TAP), to 15 countries, making Ryanair Portugal’s number one carrier for choice, fares and on time performance.  To celebrate, we are launching a seat sale with fares available from €29.99 for travel next Summer, which must be booked by Thursday 25th November. Since these amazing low fares will be snapped up quickly, customers should log onto www.ryanair.com now to avoid missing out.”

ANA- VINCI Airports’ CEO, Thierry Ligonnière, said:

“The announcement of Ryanair’s base in Madeira for the summer of 2022 is excellent news for the Autonomous Region of Madeira. This base is the result of a partnership with Ryanair, the Madeira Tourism Promotion Association and the Portuguese Tourism Board. In addition to reinforcing the existing partnership between VINCI and Ryanair, this base will allow, through the opening of 5 new routes in 2022, a significant increase in Madeira’s connectivity, boosting the diversification of tourist markets, so important for the recovery and growth of tourism in the region.”

November 23, 2021 – CES 2022 – In response to feedback from its business customers and an uptick in demand, United Airlines is expanding its schedule to make it easier for CES 2022 attendees to join the in-person show in Las Vegas. The airline is adding 14 new direct flights in early January between Las Vegas and San Jose, Calif., Boston, Fort Lauderdale, and Orlando, and is also adding 30 flights from its hub airports in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York/Newark, and Washington D.C./Dulles. This represents a capacity increase of 37% compared to its usual January schedule to Las Vegas.

CES 2022

“The return of in-person conferences and events is a very positive sign in the pandemic recovery, and United is uniquely positioned to capitalize on this increase in demand,” said Ankit Gupta, senior vice president of Domestic Planning and United Express. “We’re adding about 80% of the capacity we did for CES in 2020, demonstrating that business travel is on the rebound and our customers are eager to reunite with clients and colleagues.”

Between Oct. 27 and Nov. 9, searches on United.com for flights to Las Vegas during CES 2022 were up 70% compared to the prior two-week period. And according to a recent survey of United’s business customers, nearly 20% say they expect travel to meetings and conferences will exceed pre-pandemic levels in 2022.

United will fly 81 flights into Las Vegas during the peak arrival days of January 3-4, and 109 flights on the peak departure days of January 8-10. New flights include:

  • 8 direct flights from San Jose, Calif.
  • 6 direct flights from Fort Lauderdale, Boston and Orlando
  • 15 additional flights from San Francisco, and 9 flights on a larger aircraft
  • 8 additional flights from Los Angeles, and 4 flights on a larger aircraft
  • 5 additional flights from Washington D.C./Dulles
  • 2 additional flights from New York/Newark

Tickets for all of these flights are available for sale now at United.com.

Customers can review COVID-19 entry requirements, find local testing options and upload any required testing and vaccination records for domestic and international travel, all in United’s Travel Ready Center. United was the first airline to integrate all these features into its mobile app and website.

United Next

United is more focused than ever on its commitment to customers and employees. In addition to today’s announcement, United has recently:

  • Launched an ambitious plan to transform the United customer experience by adding and upgrading hundreds of aircraft as well as investing in features like larger overhead bins, seatback entertainment in every seat and the industry’s fastest available Wi-Fi.
  • Announced a goal to create 25,000 unionized jobs by 2026 that includes careers as pilots, flight attendants, agents, technicians, and dispatchers.
  • Announced that United will train at least 5,000 pilots by 2030 through the United Aviate Academy, with the plan of at least half being women and people of color.
  • Required all U.S. employees to receive a COVID-19 vaccination.

Eurowings flights to Scandinavia – 4 new destinations in Northern Europe starting in festive December

airline news

blank

blank

blank

blank

November 22, 2021 – Eurowings flights to Scandinavia – Sweden, Norway and Finland. Just in time for the Christmas season, Eurowings has added four very special winter destinations in Sweden, Finland, and Norway to its flight schedule: beginning in early December, the airline will be flying to four new destinations in Northern Europe from Düsseldorf and Stuttgart. In the regions around Tromsø (Norway), Luleå and Kiruna (both in Sweden) and Rovaniemi (Finland), which is known as the home region of Santa Claus, fascinating landscapes, and nature experiences such as the polar night, the northern lights or extravagant leisure experiences such as dog sledding or icebreaker trips await travelers from Germany.

Eurowings flights to Scandinavia

From Düsseldorf to Tromsø in Norway

From Düsseldorf, Eurowings’ largest base, Eurowings will take off for Tromsø in Norway for the first time on 4 December. The city lies 344 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle, at the latitude of northern Alaska. As a travel destination, the region is particularly attractive because of the northern lights. The Düsseldorf-Tromsø route will be offered every Saturday at prices from 47.99 euros, and also on Tuesdays as of 21 December. An Airbus A319 will be used on the route.

From Düsseldorf to Rovaniemi in Lapland

Also from Düsseldorf, Eurowings will be flying to Rovaniemi in Finland on Sundays beginning on 5 December. The city is near the Arctic Circle, a little further south than Tromsø. In addition to these regular flights, the airline will be flying its passengers from the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia to Rovaniemi on 23 and 30 December 2021 as well as on 4 and 6 January 2022. Rovaniemi is the capital of Lapland and is primarily known to tourists from Germany for its northern lights’ tours. However, in addition to the cozy Santa Claus village about eight kilometers north of central Rovaniemi, visitors to the city can also explore the science center and the impressive Arktikum museum, with spectacular architecture and exhibitions on the history of the far North and life in the region. Flights from Düsseldorf to Rovaniemi start at 59.99 euros for a one-way ticket.

From Stuttgart to Kiruna and Luleå in Sweden

The Swedish cities of Kiruna and Luleå are newly accessible from Southern Germany in the 2021/22 winter flight schedule: Eurowings will fly to both destinations from Stuttgart. Flights to Luleå will start on 19 December 2021. Luleå is located in the north of Sweden and captivates with its mystical polar lights and crystal-clear icy landscapes. The area offers attractive leisure experiences such as snowmobile safaris, aurora tours or trips with the icebreaker. Eurowings will be flying the Stuttgart-Luleå route on Wednesdays and Sundays with an Airbus A319 starting in mid-December, with prices starting at 47.99 euros for a one-way ticket.

Kiruna, the northernmost city in Sweden, is the second new destination from Stuttgart. The polar night here lasts from 12 to 31 December. Visitors to the region can look forward to activities such as skiing, dog-sledding and snowshoeing. The ice hotel in Jukkasjärvi is also a visitor magnet: it is rebuilt every year starting in October and opens in December. Eurowings will be flying to northern Sweden every Saturday from 18 December 2021, with prices starting at 47.99 euros for a one-way ticket.

All the new routes can be booked at eurowings.com and conveniently in the Eurowings app. Eurowings passengers travel with maximum flexibility and safety: throughout Europe, the airline has introduced exemplary security concepts at airports and on board. More information can be found here: https://www.eurowings.com/en/information/news-help/corona-information-hub.html

The airlines of the Lufthansa Group (Eurowings, Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines) are offering around 80,000 additional seats on 440 supplemental flights for the upcoming holiday season over Christmas and New Year’s. By resuming flights to destinations and increasing the frequency of existing connections or deploying larger aircraft, the airlines are responding to the demand for flights during the winter holidays that has been rising for weeks.

Eurowings is looking for personnel

November 18, 2021 -Eurowings launches tenders for Cockpit and cabin personnel wanted for Eurowings’ eleventh European base

Eurowings is playing an active role in the upcoming reorganization of European air traffic. With the opening of a new base in Stockholm, the Lufthansa Group airline is now developing its services in Northern Europe for the first time. Starting in March 2022, Eurowings will initially station five Airbus A320 aircraft in the Swedish capital. Stockholm will thus become the eleventh Eurowings location in Europe – and the fifth base outside the home market of Germany, after Palma de Mallorca, Prague, Pristina, and Salzburg. The flights will be operated by Eurowings Europe, Eurowings’ pan-European flight operation.

With its increased presence in the “Nordics,” Eurowings is not only creating better connections to Sweden, especially to popular sun destinations in Southern Europe. The move also brings new jobs to the region and thus important employment stimulus for the Scandinavian aviation market.

Eurowings is now launching an initial application process for crews for its new base in Stockholm. In a first step, the airline has advertised around 150 new jobs, about 100 for cabin crews and around 50 for the cockpit. In order to start flight operations, crews from Eurowings Europe in Vienna will initially be deployed from Stockholm starting in March. In the medium term, however, flights will be operated entirely by locally based crews. Crew members already flying for Eurowings Europe will have preferential transfer rights to the Scandinavian metropolis in accordance with internal company regulations.

Robert Jahn, Managing Director of Eurowings Europe, said: “Shortly after opening our base in Prague, we are now delighted to be driving pan-European growth in Northern Europe as well. With the creation of local jobs, I am pleased to welcome more colleagues to the team. In particular, I would also like to encourage internal colleagues to transfer, so that we can carry our Eurowings DNA as an innovative and customer-focused team into the new base right from the start.”

Eurowings will bring its guests directly from Stockholm to around 20 destinations across Europe for the first time from March 27, 2022. The first published routes from Stockholm include popular sun destinations in Southern Europe, such as Palma on the Balearic island of Mallorca, Alicante and Malaga in Spain, Faro in Portugal and Nice in Southern France. As city destinations, Eurowings is initially adding the metropolises of Berlin, Barcelona, Rome, and Copenhagen to its program, as well as Birmingham, Gdansk and the capital of Kosovo, Pristina. Further destinations will follow in the next few weeks. Tickets can be booked at eurowings.com and via the Eurowings app.

Singapore Airlines Rolls Out New Cabin Products for Return to 737 MAX Flights

Singapore International Airlines (SIA) on Tuesday said it will roll out a host of new cabin products as it returns to utilizing the Boeing 737 MAX-8 aircraft.

“This is the culmination of three years of innovation and hard work, involving extensive customer research and close partnerships with designers and suppliers,” Lee Lik Hsin, Executive Vice President Commercial, Singapore Airlines, said in a statement. “As a result, we can now offer customers a premium travel experience across our entire full-service network, no matter how long or short their journey.”

The carrier said it is adding amenities to the narrowbody 737 MAX-8 that are similar to features found on its widebody jets.

All of the MAX jets will have 154 seats in two classes, 10 in Business Class and 144 in Economy.

Business Class will feature new lie-flat seats while Economy will have the latest generation slim-line seating. The cabin of the 737-8 has been designed with a special focus on ergonomics, helping to ensure that everything is within easy reach for customers.

All seats will have the Panasonic’s X-Series seat-back in-flight entertainment system.

SIA said it invested around $230 million on the development, design and installation of the cabin products.

“This significant investment demonstrates Singapore Airlines’ commitment to maintaining our leadership position in the airline industry,” Hsin said. “As air travel recovers, our customers can continue to enjoy world-class products and award-winning service across our fleets.”

Better Q3 for airlines

Better Q3 for airlines

For the third quarter (Q3) of the year, airlines’ financial losses – compared with pre-COVID levels in 2019 – have diminished compared with Q2, with some carriers reporting their first profitable quarter since the COVID-19 crisis.

But Iata’s Airlines Financial Monitor report released this week – shows that there are still headwinds to recovery.

The quarterly Airlines Financial Monitor report looks at a sample of airlines across the globe, evaluating them in terms of economic performance and pressures. This gives an indication of the overall aviation picture.

In the sample of 27 airlines for the latest report, the industry-wide EBIT (earnings before interest and taxes) margin improved to -2% of revenues in Q3.

Iata Economics noted that the improvement had been driven by passenger travel recovery on some domestic and short-haul routes where travel restrictions had been lifted during the traditionally busy Q3.

Furthermore, total airline revenues declined by 30% – a robust improvement on the 46% decline in Q2.

The report further noted that operating costs fell by 18%, other variable costs have also been returning with the traffic restart, reinforcing the need for all partners in the air transport supply chain to carefully manage costs in a still weak revenue environment.

Amongst others, sharp increase in the jet fuel price has been putting an upward pressure on airlines’ operating costs and represents a risk to a further recovery in the industry’s profitability during Q4. Additional challenges come from rising infrastructure costs, according to Iata Economics.

November 16, 2021 –Avianca achieves confirmation of reorganization plan

  • The Airline Expects to Emerge from its Court-Supervised Restructuring Process Before End of Year.
  • An Updated Business Plan Will Result in a Stable, Financially Viable Airline, Further Supported by the Continued Growth of its Cargo and Loyalty Businesses.
  • Avianca’s New Vision Combines the Airline’s 100-Year Legacy with Modern, Optimized Service to Meet Needs of Today’s Customers Across Latin America and Beyond.

Avianca comeback

Avianca announced today that –following its submission of additional documentation that had been requested by the United States Court for the Southern District Court of New York– the Court has confirmed Avianca’s Plan of Reorganization*[i]. The Company expects to successfully complete its court-supervised reorganization and emerge from Chapter 11 before the end of the year as a more efficient and financially stronger airline, well positioned for long-term success.

Upon emergence, the Company will have a solid balance sheet, with significantly reduced debt and over $1 billion in liquidity. Avianca’s restructuring will enable the Company to continue repositioning and simplifying its business, re-establishing as the carrier of choice in Latin America by adopting more competitive pricing for clients, reconfiguring aircraft with best-in-class modern seating, expanding network routes both domestically and internationally, refinancing its aircraft portfolio and obtaining long-term financing commitments. Avianca will keep the airline’s differentiating and competitive assets, which include a robust network, one of the best loyalty programs, VIP Lounges, signature services and one of the most competitive cargo solutions in the region.

Rohit Philip, Chief Financial Officer of Avianca, said: “We are pleased to have reached this critical milestone and look forward to emerging as a stronger organization that is well positioned to fly the skies for many years to come. The financial and operational progress we have already achieved are a testament to the tenacity and commitment of the entire Avianca team, and I am proud of their tremendous efforts”.

Adrian Neuhauser, President and Chief Executive Officer of Avianca, said: “On behalf of everyone at Avianca, I want to express our gratitude to our loyal customers, partners, and lenders for their continued support. I especially want to thank Judge Glenn for his thoughtful and responsible oversight of the process. Looking ahead, with a stronger financial foundation, Avianca will be better positioned to capture recovering travel demand with a compelling value proposition to meet the needs of today’s clients across Latin America and beyond. We are a company that combines an over-100-year legacy with modern, optimized service, while remaining committed to continuing to set the standard for safety, customer service, and value across the industry.”

Business Plan:

Avianca’s updated business plan impacts all facets of operations – the destinations Avianca will serve, the aircraft Avianca will operate, and the way Avianca will serve customers – to build on its leadership position and drive its future success.

Notably, the business plan projects:

  • A financially viable and stable airline;
  • Higher network density with a passenger fleet of more than 130 aircraft flying over 200 largely point-to-point routes by year-end 2025, with expanded service across Latin America as demand fully recovers;
  • A leaner cost structure providing both better pricing and more direct service, while enabling growth into new markets; and
  • Continued growth of the air cargo and LifeMiles loyalty businesses, building on the Company’s already well-established market positions.

Avianca’s Business Vision Milestones:

Over the course of 2021, Avianca has made significant progress on its new business vision in three key areas: strengthening its network, redesigning products and enhancing services. Certain milestones that the Company has already successfully achieved include:

  • A stronger network: Announced 23 new point-to-point routes in strategic markets for 2022, including Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala and Costa Rica. Avianca plans to operate more than 100 new routes in the next three years.
  • Cabin reconfiguration: Incorporated more seats to offer more competitive prices and increase the number of passengers carried. The capacity of each aircraft will be increased by up to 20%.
  • Tailor-made service bundles: Provided customers with better flexibility to manage their flights and services so they only pay for what they really need.
  • Better self-service: Strengthened online customer service, its chat service “Vianca” and digital channels so that passengers can manage their trip more easily from the mobile application and Avianca’s website.
  • A rewarding LifeMiles program: Introduced a new mileage accrual model and more benefits for loyalty program travelers.

Court filings and other documents related to the Chapter 11 process are available on a separate website administered by Avianca’s claims agent, Kurtzman Carson Consultants, at www.kccllc.net/avianca. Information is also available by calling (866) 967-1780 (U.S./Canada) or +1 (310) 751-2680 (International), as well as by email at www.kccllc.net/avianca/inquiry.

Seabury Securities LLC is serving as financial advisor to Avianca, and Milbank LLP is serving as legal advisor.

* The value of the outstanding shares of the Company (including the preferred shares traded under ticker symbols OTCMKTS: AVHOQ, BVC: PFAVH) will be reduced to zero and will cease to have value and Avianca’s assets and liabilities will be reorganized under a new holding company

November 15, 2021 – United is the only North American airline offering direct flights from Jordan to the U.S.

Amman is one of five new destinations United will serve next summer as part of the airline’s largest-ever transatlantic expansion

United flights to Jordan

United is giving customers the chance to check the cultural and natural wonders of Jordan off of their travel bucket lists in 2022, as tickets go on sale today for the airline’s brand-new flights between Washington D.C./Dulles and Amman. United is the only North American airline offering direct flights to Jordan from the U.S., and the first flight takes off on May 5, 2022 (these flights are subject to government approval).

“We’re expecting next summer to be one of our busiest ever for transatlantic travel, and we know our customers have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to visit unique and memorable international destinations,” Patrick Quayle, senior vice president of international network and alliances at United. “We’re thrilled to make it easier for more travelers to have the chance to swim in the Red Sea, visit the Wadi Rum desert and simply experience Jordan’s vibrant history and culture.”

Amman is one of five brand-new transatlantic destinations United will launch service to next summer. Other new destinations include Bergen, Norway; Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain; Ponta Delgada, Azores, Portugal; and Palma de Mallorca, Spain. In addition, United will start four new routes to popular European destinations including Chicago to Milan, Italy; Denver to Munich, Germany; Washington D.C.to Berlin, Germany; and Boston to London, England. Customers are already eagerly planning summer getaways; since these new flights were announced last month, the airline is receiving hundreds of bookings for them each day.

“United Airlines’ launch of non-stop service between Amman and Washington D.C. will further the close economic and cultural ties between Jordan and the United States,” said Dina Kawar, Jordan’s Ambassador to the United States. “We look forward to many years of success, and the boost to Jordan’s tourism economy this new service will bring, and we will remain committed to ensuring the success of this new route into Amman.”

“The U.S. Embassy in Amman is committed to supporting U.S. investment in Jordan and the promotion of U.S.-Jordan relations. We welcome the announcement of this new flight as it will further expand the opportunities for Americans and Jordanians to connect our cultures and promote tourism and economic opportunities,” said U.S. Ambassador to Jordan, Henry T. Wooster.

United is planning to fly its largest transatlantic schedule in its history next summer with nonstop flights to 30 European destinations – more than any other North American carrier. United is adding additional flights to Berlin, Dublin, Milan, Munich and Rome; and will launch several routes that were interrupted due to the pandemic including Frankfurt, Nice and Zurich. The airline also recently announced the addition of five new flights to London Heathrow.

United’s capital-to-capital service to Amman builds upon recent transatlantic growth in Washington D.C., including the first ever nonstop to Lagos, Nigeria launching at the end of this month. United will operate flights to Amman three times weekly with a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner which includes lie-flat United Polaris® business class seats with all aisle access and the United Premium Plus® cabin.

“United Airlines’ nonstop flight from Washington, D.C., to Amman will serve as an important new gateway between our nations’ capitals, catering to both business and leisure passengers on the brand-new route,” said Carl Schultz, acting vice president of airline business development for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. “We look forward to adding yet another option for our customers in the National Capital Region as we continue to diversify our growing line-up of international destinations.”

We are delighted to celebrate the opening of our new base in Turin and to announce our new S22 schedule, which will boost connectivity throughout Europe as we continue to strengthen and grow our network to carry 225m passengers p.a. by 2026.

With 40 routes scheduled across this winter and next summer, Ryanair will be a crucial asset in positioning Turin and its region as a year-round destination for international tourism. This development will also create 60 direct jobs and offer our Italian customers a host of exciting European destinations to choose for their winter and summer breaks, with 19 new routes connecting Turin to the likes of Billund, Chania, and Dublin.

To celebrate, we are launching a seat sale with fares available from €19.99 for travel until the end of Oct 22, which must be booked by Saturday, 13th November. Since these amazing low fares will be snapped up quickly, customers should log onto www.ryanair.com to avoid missing out.”

Torino Airport CEO, Andrea Andorno, said:

“We are very pleased to announce today three new Ryanair routes – Agadir, Billund and Zadar – that will start from Turin in March 2022. We are also happy to confirm for next summer the connections that have debuted with the current winter season: Budapest, Copenhagen, Krakow, Edinburgh (starting from 4 December), Kyiv, Lanzarote, Madrid, Malaga, Marrakech, Paris Beauvais, Seville, Tel Aviv and Trapani. The three new entries will thus bring further growth in the summer season 2022 to the many new flights that Ryanair has recently launched from the base of Turin.

To celebrate, for all passengers we offer a discount of over 50% at our low-cost parking, with exceptional rates: for example, 4 days of parking at €9.99 and a week at €13.99.”
