 July 31, 2021: Information on entry restrictions, testing and quarantine regulations in Mauritius

Until 30 September 2021:
1. Passengers must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken at most 7 days or at least 3 days before departure from the last embarkation point.
2. Passengers with a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before arrival must have a confirmed accommodation reservation booked at https://mauritiusnow.com/where-to-stay-in-mauritius/ . Vaccines accepted are: Astra Zeneca (Covishield and Vaxzevria), Covaxin, Janssen, Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech Sinovac, Sinopharm or Sputnik.
3. Passengers without a COVID-19 vaccination certificate must have a confirmed accommodation reservation booked at https://mauritiusnow.com/where-to-stay-in-mauritius/ and are subject to quarantine for 14 days.
4. Passengers are subject to a PCR test upon arrival.

 

Detailed Tourist Information

From 15 July to 30 September 2021
All travellers are required to provide the following documents before boarding:

-a certificate of negative COVID-19 PCR test administered between 5 and 7 days prior to -boarding at their last point of embarkation.
-a valid air ticket to Mauritius and
-proof of purchase of a stay package in one of our certified COVID-19 safe resorts

Vaccinated Guests

-Enjoy a holiday at one of our certified COVID-19 safe resorts
-Relax on the beach and enjoy access to all hotel facilities
-You will undergo a PCR test on arrival day and on days 7 and 14 of your stay.
-After a negative PCR test on day 14, you will be free to go and explore the island

Unvaccinated Travellers (Mauritian Nationals Only)

-Book a 14-day quarantine including meals and transfers in an officially designated hotel.
-You will be required to stay in your hotel room for 14 days and meals will be delivered to your room
-You will undergo a PCR test on arrival day and on days 7 and 14
-After a negative PCR test on day 14, you can freely explore the island and move to a different accommodation or go home.

As from 1st October onwards

Vaccinated Guests

-Full opening of the island!
-Enjoy a stay in one of our beautiful hotels
-Freely explore our island and its attractions throughout your holiday
-You must present a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to departure to be -allowed entry in Mauritius

Unvaccinated Travellers

-Book a 14-day quarantine including meals and transfers in an officially designated hotel.
-You will be required to stay in your hotel room for 14 days and meals will be delivered to your room
-You will undergo a PCR test on arrival day and on days 7 and 14
-After a negative PCR test on day 14, you can freely explore the island and move to a different accommodation or go home.
 

Lockdown Details

The Mauritian authorities have announced new lockdown restrictions from 1 May 2021.

Most shops are now open.

Social distancing and wearing of face masks in public remains mandatory.

Public transport is operating.

Access to beaches remains prohibited.

Restaurants are open for take-away and delivery only.

Cultural and sports events are cancelled and there is a restriction on numbers at marriages and funerals..

Several red zones with higher risks of exposure to COVID-19 have been identified.

Movement in and out of red zones is being closely monitored. You should follow the advice of the local authorities.
