December 01 2021 –
The motorsport and entertainment extravaganza will take place at Bahrain International Circuit from 18 to 20 March, and it will be the first of 23 rounds in the new season.
The 2022 race will be the fourth time that the Formula 1 season will start in Bahrain. The championship-opener was also previously held in Sakhir in 2006, 2010 and in 2021.
It will be the 18th edition of the Kingdom’s 57-lap race, and the ninth time it will be held at night under BIC’s state-of-the-art floodlights.
The Bahrain Grand Prix is set to be the front-end of a Formula 1 Middle Eastern double-header to start the new campaign, as it will be followed the very next weekend by the second edition of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah.
Tickets and packages are now on sale. Bahrain International Circuit will once again host the opening round of the Formula 1 season in 2022. And with new technical regulations being introduced, the Bahrain Grand Prix will offer the first opportunity to see the new competitive order.
Bahrain produces exciting racing under lights and with a low spectator capacity of approximately 30,000 fans, the trackside experience is relaxed and well organized. Choosing where to sit at Sakhir is easier than at most circuits; there’s just five different grandstands available. Prices are relatively affordable, though have increased around 10-20% over the past few years. All grandstands are covered, but this is less of a factor now that most of the action in Bahrain happens at night, when temperatures are cooler.
