February 8, 2022 – Frédéric Deleuze, a former Airbus engineer, intends to transform an Airbus A380 aircraft originally planned for dismantling into a luxury hotel. The hotel will be placed in the airport’s northern terminal at Toulouse-Blagnac (TLS).

Airbus A380 To Be Converted Into A Luxury Hotel

The future hotel will contain 31 rooms, two of which will be suites. Three accommodation kinds will be available in the fuselage: ordinary rooms for two people, deluxe rooms for three or four guests, and suites.

One suite room will be placed in the A380 cockpit, while the other will be located at the back of the plane on two floors linked by the original staircase.

The hotel complex will also have a 60-seat restaurant with a patio overlooking the largest passenger jet.

When he learnt that some old Airbus A380s were being scrapped, Frédéric Deleuze, who worked as an engineer at Airbus for 15 years, came up with the idea of upcycling the Airbus A380 into a hotel.

Several historic planes have been rescued from aviation graveyards. British Airways said in 2020 that it would convert its final Boeing 747 aeroplane into a theatre and educational facility for kids. In 2021, Emirates recycled its retired Airbus A380 into aviation collectibles.
