October 12, 2021 – Bajos del Toro is a thriving rural community with rich traditions. We will pay a visit to local orchid enthusiast Don Martin Porras and his private garden, featuring more than 400 orchid species.
His collection features more than 400 orchid species, from fun shoe-shaped specimens to tiny varieties of Lilliputian beauty. A magnifying glass is provided for a unique micro-safari.
After a visit to the local school, church, and soccer field, we will meet Doña Olga, the tortilla master! Born and raised in Bajos del Toro, she will teach us her skills for traditional tortilla making.
