This lifestyle hotel offers travellers a stylish base featuring a strong F&B programme and interiors inspired by the local artistic heritage.
Locally inspired design
This exciting project was developed by Songy Highroads, with design by Sawyer & Company in tandem with The Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry.
Creating a duality between public and private areas, the designers took inspiration for the interiors from Georgia’s pottery heritage, integrating nods to earthenware through the colour scheme, graphics and textures. A floral stencilled wall, woven pendant light installation and terracotta wall further distinguish the reception area.
Moreover, award-winning Canadian artist Claire Desjardins created a three-part installation for the property, and the exterior walls feature the work of artist Lenia Castro of Buckhead Murals.
The hotel’s guestrooms continue this artistic theme with wallpaper featuring the pattern of crackled glaze on pottery, and rugs encapsulating the shape and hues of earthenware. Meanwhile, headboards incorporating a chevron fabric pattern reflect the neighbourhood’s reputation as a fashion hub.
Each spacious room and suite comes with 10 ft-high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows for views over Atlanta and amenities including LCD HDTVs, cosy hooded bathrobes and Beekind socially conscious bath amenities. Guest facilities within the property include a fitness centre with Peloton bikes and panoramic views, plus an outdoor heated plunge pool and sun deck.
The hotel’s two dining concepts were created by James Beard Award-winning chef and author Hugh Acheson, along with the owner of Root Baking Co and Pizza Jeans, Christopher Wilkins.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is offered at the ground-floor Montréal-style steakhouse Mount Royal, featuring a steel entrance archway, a textured stone and aged bronze bar, wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows, an outdoor terrace and a firepit with glass mosaic mural. And the indoor-oudoor Spaceman lounge hosts guests on the 15th floor, with shareable plates and craft cocktails accompanied by an overhead sculpture that creates a halo effect at sunset.
Events will be hosted in the second floor’s 3,700 sq ft meeting space, in which each room is decorated with accent wall coverings and works of art, and benefits from the inclusion of a built-in wet bar, intuitive technology, lounge seating and floor-to-ceiling windows.
