October 7, 2021 –  Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) announced today the opening of The Shay, a Destination by Hyatt hotel and the brand’s first urban hotel in Southern California, in the vibrant Culver City district of Los Angeles. The destination-defining property is a central hub for creative camaraderie. The Shay’s relaxed urban interior boasts thoughtfully crafted details like leather-wrapped handrails, patinated metals and native hardwoods that allude to Culver City’s industrious past. Larger spaces such as the lobby, courtyard and roof deck comprise a series of intimate nooks, dens and parlors that seamlessly transition from work to play. A property-wide art collection includes 35 locally commissioned murals, textiles, installations and portraits, each accompanied by a unique QR code that invites visitors to learn more about the artist.
