AC Milan and Emirates Unveil Exclusive Art Installation at Dubai World Cup 2024

Dubai World Cup 2024 witnessed a groundbreaking collaboration between Emirates and AC Milan, as they unveiled an exclusive art showcase at the prestigious Meydan Racecourse on March 30. The unique art installation, masterfully crafted by renowned regional artist Kareemgraphy, seamlessly merges the worlds of sports, culture, and art.

The bespoke artwork, designed by calligraffiti artist Abdul Kareem, features a captivating representation of a horse, meticulously assembled from 187 AC Milan jerseys, spanning Home, Away, Third, and goalkeeper kits. Positioned prominently on the lawn adjacent to the parade ring, this 8 x 8 metre installation captivated spectators in the Grandstand with its mesmerising blend of sports, culture, and artistic creativity.

The Dubai World Cup 2024, conceived by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, serves as the pinnacle of the UAE’s horse racing calendar. AC Milan’s inaugural participation in Emirates’ horse racing events marks a historic milestone, reaffirming their iconic partnership that commenced in 2007.

Esteemed attendees at the event included AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani, RedBird Capital’s Operating Partner and AC Milan Senior Advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and AC Milan’s Chief Commercial Officer Maikel Oettle.

Maikel Oettle, AC Milan’s Chief Commercial Officer, lauded the art installation, commenting:

“It’s truly inspiring to witness AC Milan and Emirates collaborating on such a remarkable initiative. This art piece beautifully underscores the intersection of sports and diverse cultures, seamlessly merging football with horse racing. It epitomizes the Club’s innovative spirit and its expanding global footprint beyond football.”

Boutros Boutros, Emirates Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications, Marketing, and Brand, echoed this sentiment, stating:

“We are thrilled to see our 17-year partnership with AC Milan and 28-year association with Dubai World Cup embodied in this distinctive and artistic installation. This serves as another exceptional and innovative experience for our patrons at a world-class event, celebrating remarkable brand collaborations and a shared appreciation for sports, culture, and art.”

The event signifies a significant landmark in AC Milan’s enduring partnership with Emirates, strengthening the bond between the two prestigious brands and highlighting the Club’s commitment to engaging diverse audiences through creative and innovative initiatives.

With AC Milan ranking among the top 10 clubs in the MEA region, boasting over 35 million global fans and 2.5 million in the UAE, the recent launch of Casa Milan Dubai, its regional hub, underscores the Club’s strategic global expansion under RedBird Capital. This strategic move further amplifies AC Milan’s commitment to tapping into the thriving Middle Eastern market and enhancing its presence in the region.
