Nihao Month Honours 50 year Thailand-China Diplomatic Milestone

In a bid to mark the golden jubilee of its diplomatic relations with China, Thailand’s Tourism Authority, better known as TAT, has announced the set up of “Nihao Month” which will involve holding various engaging events that will feature Chinese activities. This colourful initiative is scheduled for September-October and it will be followed by a year-long celebration in 2025.

Star-Studded Events Highlight the Celebration

Among the key attractions during “Nihao Month” include; Luo Yunxi, a notable Chinese actor, who will grace this occasion along with DaOu Pittaya Sae-chow and Mai Davika Hoorne both renowned Thai actors being other celebrities expected to grace various occasions thereby adding some glitz and glamour into the event.

Strengthening Bonds Through Cultural Exchange

During the launch event Mr. Sermsak Pongpanit who is Thailand’s Minister of Tourism and Sports spoke about how the two countries have been together. Mr. Sermsak said at the launch: “The fifty years of diplomacy between China and Thailand has facilitated trade links between us, promoted cultural exchanges as well as tourism. The objectives behind ‘Nihao month’ are to enhance even more cooperation in tourism and create anticipation ahead of full celebrations for this significant anniversary,” added Mr. Sermsak. These included Mrs. Chang Yumeng Cultural Affairs Counsellor from Chinese Embassy in Thailand and Ms.Thapanee Kiatphaibool TAT Governor respectively among others from private sectors.

Attracting Chinese Tourists with Special Offers

TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool expressed her excitement about what lay ahead. She added: “‘Nihao Month’ is meant to build momentum towards our grand plans for the 50th year. Chinese tourists are welcome to join us in celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival, Golden Week and several other unique events taking place between now and early next year, which will culminate in Chinese New Year celebrations, and finally this significant milestone.”

During Golden Week alone, TAT aims to attract 250,000 Chinese visitors and generate approximately 500 million online interactions through these activities to enhance Thailand appeal as a major destination for each of its Chinese visitors.

Key Events and Promotions Nihao Month Honours 50 year Thailand-China Diplomatic Milestone:

• KOLs Mega Fam Trip: To be held on September by TAT “KOLs Mega Fam Trip” will bring together 100 opinion leaders from china who would visit Thailand. These influencers will post their experiences on social media platforms such as Little Red Book, Weibo, Douyin etc. potentially reaching up to 100 million views.
• Amazing Thailand, Mid-Autumn Night: On September 17th at Parc Paragon Bangkok there is going to be an “Amazing Thailand, Mid-Autumn Night” event. This occasion is expected to attract over 400 million people with appearances by Luo Yunxi featuring Thai stars DaOu Pittaya Sae-chow and Mai Davika Hoorne.
• Sound of Friendship Concert: In October, TAT will present the “Sound of Friendship Concert” at Siam Paragon Bangkok with performances by popular Thai artists on October 5 &12th. The concerts will also have exclusive “meet & greet” sessions for some fans.
• Joint Promotions: For airfares accommodation travel activities in addition TAT is collaborating with major Chinese travel platforms like Ctrip Fliggy Meituan Tongcheng UnionPay offering them exclusive deals which can only be redeemed between September and December.
• Chinese Passport Special Offers: Malls transport services duty-free shops spas restaurants are among those given discounts upon production of a Chinese passport from September 19th to October 31st while there are participating.
