KLM Exciting Summer Lineup 2025

KLM Summer Lineup Is Hotter Than the Tarmac in August

Ladies and gentlemen, fasten your seatbelts and stow your tray tables—because KLM is not just flying this summer, it’s soaring. The Dutch carrier is rolling out its biggest summer schedule yet, serving 161 destinations worldwide and preparing to welcome a whopping 6.4 million passengers between July and August. That’s more people than the population of Denmark, all jetting off to places that hopefully involve more sunscreen and fewer spreadsheets.

Oh, and in case you were wondering if this summer would look anything like last year—nope. KLM has added 4% more seat capacity, which means more places to sit, stretch, and awkwardly wrestle with your seatbelt.

More Flights, More Fun (Especially to North America and Southern Europe)

If you’re one of those people who starts planning your vacation before you’ve even unpacked from your last one, you’ll be pleased to know that flights to North America are up by 9%. That’s more planes heading across the Atlantic than ever before. Whether you’re craving tacos in San Diego, tech talk in Silicon Valley, or just some solid US sunshine, KLM has you covered.

And if your soul screams “southern Europe,” you’re in luck. Portugal and Croatia are getting a 25% boost in seat capacity. That’s right—more flights to custard tarts and island hopping.

Meet the New Destinations—They’re Kind of a Big Deal

This summer, KLM is introducing six brand-new routes, and they are not playing around.

Intercontinental routes:

  • San Diego, USA – Finally, a way to get to California without laying over in someone’s garage.
  • Georgetown, Guyana – The place you didn’t realize you needed to visit until now.
  • Hyderabad, India – Starting in September, for those who want their curry spicy and their tech scene thriving.

European additions:

  • Ljubljana, Slovenia – Say it five times fast, then book a flight and find out why this fairytale city is worth the tongue twister.
  • Exeter, UK – For when you want a bit of British countryside without the London chaos.
  • Biarritz, France – Surf’s up and baguettes are fresh. Need we say more?

Spoiler alert: San Diego, Biarritz, and Ljubljana are already booking like hotcakes, so don’t procrastinate unless you enjoy jealousy scrolling through your friends’ vacation posts.

A Chaotic (But Glorious) Start to the Season

KLM is kicking off July with a bang—or rather, a boarding call. From July 4 to 6, they expect to carry 330,000 passengers. That’s a lot of checked bags and in-flight snacks. So if you’re traveling that weekend, get to the airport early, wear your comfiest shoes, and prepare to meet every person you’ve ever seen on Instagram.

Upgrades to the Classics

KLM isn’t just about the new kids on the block. They’re also giving the tried-and-true routes some much-needed love.

Intercontinental boosts include:

  • Kilimanjaro/Dar es Salaam – Now flying daily, because five days a week just wasn’t enough for all the mountain climbers and safari-goers.
  • Las Vegas – You can now roll the dice every day through August.
  • Osaka and Tokyo Narita – Japan is calling, and now there are even more ways to answer.
  • Edmonton and Cape Town – More flights mean more chances to eat poutine or drink pinotage.
  • Curaçao – Your tropical escape now includes a Sunday flight. Amen.

In Europe:

  • Belfast – Upgraded to twice daily, which feels just right for those craving a pint and a potato.
  • Barcelona, Porto, Split, Krakow, and Poznan – All seeing frequency bumps so you can squeeze in a last-minute city break or two.

Goodbye Malpensa, Hello Linate

And finally, a quick PSA for Milan travelers: KLM is shifting all operations to Linate Airport, saying “ciao” to Malpensa. That means shorter rides to the city and more time for shopping, sightseeing, or doing nothing at all.

Bottom line? Whether you’re escaping to a beach, meeting clients in a new market, or finally going on that trip you swore you’d take in 2020, KLM is making it easier, smoother, and roomier. Just remember to check your passport, pack your snacks, and maybe book that extra legroom—because this summer is shaping up to be a busy one.
