Wizz Air Comes Back to Warsaw with 11 Unbelievable New Routes

After 13 long years of “It’s complicated,” Wizz Air and Warsaw-Modlin Airport are officially back together—and things are looking spicy. The airline is returning not with a subtle wave, but with a full-blown European reunion tour: 11 new routes, two brand-new Airbus A321neo aircraft, and a whole lot of bold magenta making a comeback on the tarmac.

Plot Twist: They’re Serious This Time

The relaunch kicks off December 1, 2025. Wizz isn’t dipping its toes in—it’s cannonballing into the Polish market with three inaugural flights to Athens, Barcelona, and Bergen. Yes, that’s Greece, Spain, and Norway in one day. If this isn’t Wizz flexing, we don’t know what is.

Just when your December looked chill and low-key, here comes December 2: Wizz adds Bergamo, Chisinau, and Paphos to the list. By mid-month (December 15–16), things really snowball with Malta, Sofia, Brindisi, and Palermo added to the rotation. And because spring is no time to get boring, Alghero (on the sunny Sardinian coast) joins the lineup on March 31, 2026. Your 2025/26 calendar just got busier than your inbox on a Monday morning.

Flights So Frequent, You’ll Accidentally Become a Jetsetter

If you’re wondering how often these flights will run, the answer is: often enough to justify booking a dozen long weekends without even checking your PTO balance. Most routes will fly three to five times a week—perfect for quick getaways, extended “workations,” or just avoiding your neighbour who’s decided to start DIY home renovations.

Some standout services: Bergamo gets a daily flight (because carbs wait for no one), and Malta will see six flights a week, aka just one shy of a daily sun-and-vino shuttle. Your inner travel junkie is already twitching.

Modlin: Because Convenience > Mystery Adventures

Why Modlin, you ask? Well, because it’s actually near Warsaw. Unlike another Polish airport we won’t name (starts with R, rhymes with “random”), Modlin doesn’t require a survival kit and a 90-minute bus ride. It’s a no-brainer for a comeback.

Wizz is aiming for a nearly 20% increase in Polish capacity for 2025, cementing its place as the country’s second most popular airline—right behind Ryanair and light years ahead of “that one you flew once and still haven’t emotionally recovered from.”

Modlin’s Not Just a Rebound

It’s not just Wizz who’s swiping right on Modlin again. Ryanair’s already made a grand entrance with 25 new routes and a not-so-subtle plan to hit 5 million passengers annually by 2030. Air Arabia is jumping into the action too, launching flights from Sharjah in December.

Basically, Modlin is no longer the quiet cousin in the corner—it’s turning into the life of the low-cost party. And Wizz Air? It brought balloons, snacks, and half of Southern Europe along for the ride.

Let’s Recap This Jet-Packed Comeback

Here’s your cheat sheet of where Wizz is flying from Warsaw-Modlin:

Starting December 1, 2025:

  • Athens (Greek drama and gyros)
  • Barcelona (art, tapas, and beach naps)
  • Bergen (for when you want fjords with your winter)

From December 2, 2025:

  • Bergamo (Lombardy, but make it pasta)
  • Chisinau (hello, Moldova)
  • Paphos (because winter sun > winter jackets)

December 15–16, 2025:

  • Malta (sunshine and smug Instagram stories)
  • Sofia (cheap, cheerful, and full of surprises)
  • Brindisi (Apulia’s best-kept secret)
  • Palermo (more cannoli than you can handle)

March 31, 2026:

  • Alghero (springtime Sardinia? Yes please)

So dust off your passport and prepare your tastebuds: Wizz Air is back, Modlin is booming, and winter travel just got a whole lot brighter (and cheaper).
