Exciting New Zurich to Tbilisi Route Launched by Edelweiss 2025
So, you were thinking of another scenic Swiss getaway, maybe one more round of fondue or a hike with views that look like a postcard, right? Well, scrap the predictable. Edelweiss has officially decided it’s time you met your wild side—with direct flights from Zurich to Tbilisi, Georgia!
Yep, starting April 12, 2025, Edelweiss took to the skies and flew straight into the heart of the Caucasus, launching a brand-new route with the kind of enthusiasm usually reserved for free samples or Eurovision voting. Naturally, there was a ribbon-cutting ceremony—because nothing says “We’re excited about dumplings and ancient monasteries” quite like a giant pair of scissors and smiling airline executives.

Two Flights a Week. Unlimited Adventures.
The airline will now run two weekly flights from Zurich to Tbilisi, operating until the end of October 2025. You’ll be cruising comfortably aboard an Airbus A320, which—let’s be honest—feels like a major upgrade from those convoluted “via six countries and a goat-cart” itineraries we’ve seen in the past for getting to Georgia.
With a flight time of just over four hours, it’s never been easier to swap chocolate for khachapuri and snowy Alps for sulphur baths.
So… Why Tbilisi?
If you’ve never heard of Tbilisi, buckle up. This city is what happens when East and West swipe right on each other. Think cobbled alleyways, colourful balconies that defy gravity, 4th-century fortresses, street art on every available surface, and cafes that look like they were designed by moody poets and maximalist grandmothers.
There’s an underground sulphur bath scene that’ll steam the stress right out of you. The food is a glorious carb-loaded adventure (we’re talking khinkali, lobio, and cheese boats so beautiful they deserve their own national holiday). And the wine? Oh, just 8,000 years old, no big deal.
Tbilisi is the kind of place where you can go from sipping Saperavi in a family-run wine bar to paragliding off a mountain before sunset. Basically, it’s giving “main character energy,” and Edelweiss knows it.
For the Adventurous… and the Incentivised
This isn’t just great news for solo wanderers and spontaneous couples—it’s also a big win for groups and incentive travel. Looking for a destination that ticks every box: exotic, exciting, culturally rich, and surprisingly affordable? Tbilisi’s your new MVP.
Think team-building over traditional feasts, corporate retreats in mountain wine resorts, or just “strategic planning” sessions that somehow end in a Georgian dance party. If you need help organizing all that? We’ve got people for that. (Seriously—ask us.)
Time to Ditch the “Been There, Done That” Crowd
Let’s be honest—if you have to see another Instagram post from Dubrovnik or yet another photo of someone “finding themselves” in Bali, you may scream. Tbilisi, however, is still a bit of a hidden gem (for now), which means you can be a travel trendsetter instead of a tourist cliché.
You’ll return home with stories that don’t involve overpriced lattes or sunburnt yacht parties, but rather underground jazz clubs, ancient monasteries carved into cliffs, and possibly a new appreciation for fermented things in jars.
Your Boarding Pass to “Wait, You Went Where?”
So here’s the deal: Edelweiss has opened the door to a destination that’s got history, mystery, carbs, cliffs, and charisma. Whether you’re in it for the food, the views, the thermal waters, or the simple joy of telling people you’re off to Georgia (no, not that Georgia), this flight is your golden ticket.
Book your seat, pack your stretchy pants, and prepare to fall in love with a country that has mountains taller than your ambitions and wine older than your excuses.
