Iberia Expands European Network with New Routes Summer 2026

Iberia Expands European Network with New Routes Summer 2026

Get ready to pack your sunscreen and your sense of adventure — because Iberia is turning up the heat for summer 2026 with not one, but two brand-new European destinations. The Spanish flag carrier is spreading its wings to Bucharest, Romania, and Tivat, Montenegro, proving that your next vacation can have both castles and coastline, all without breaking your flight budget.

And if that wasn’t enough, Iberia’s also giving some of Europe’s most beloved summer spots an extra dose of love — more flights, more flexibility, and more chances to sneak in that “one last getaway” before reality hits again.

So, let’s dive in.

New Routes, New Adventures

First up on Iberia’s 2026 travel bingo card: Madrid to Bucharest — the route for anyone who’s ever wanted to explore the charm of Eastern Europe without having to google, “How do I get there cheaply from Spain?”

Starting 3 June 2026, Iberia will operate flights twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Sundays, connecting Madrid to the lively Romanian capital. This new route will run until 30 September 2026, just long enough for you to explore everything from Bucharest’s Belle Époque boulevards to Transylvania’s Dracula-approved castles.

It’s not just about sightseeing, though. Bucharest is becoming a serious player in Europe’s digital and business scene — and Iberia’s new flights make it easier than ever for professionals (and the occasional overworked freelancer) to zip between Madrid and Romania with a little more style and a lot less layover. Plus, the route’s perfect timing ensures smooth connections to North and Latin America, helping travelers link up between continents faster than you can say paella meets papanasi.

Meanwhile, Over in Montenegro…

If Romania’s capital sounds too urban for your taste, Iberia’s second addition might be your perfect match. Starting 18 July 2026, Iberia will make its debut in Montenegro, with direct flights from Madrid to Tivat, operating Tuesdays and Saturdays until 15 September 2026.

Now, if you’ve never heard of Tivat, don’t worry — you’ve definitely seen it on Instagram. Nestled along Montenegro’s Adriatic coast, this small but mighty destination is your gateway to Kotor Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site that looks like someone dropped Norway’s fjords into the Mediterranean.

Tivat is also where superyachts go to show off and where travelers go to pretend they own one. From seaside promenades to the nearby medieval town of Kotor, it’s a mix of glam, history, and natural beauty that will make you wonder why you didn’t go sooner.

For Iberia, this is more than just another summer destination — it’s a new frontier. The airline is expanding east and south, adding flair to its network and giving Madrid another bragging right as Europe’s connection point for literally everything fun.

A Whole Lot of Familiar Favorites Return

Of course, what’s a summer without the classics? Iberia is bringing back its much-loved seasonal routes to all the places you wish you could move to: Dubrovnik, Split, and Zagreb in Croatia; Catania and Palermo in Italy; Corfu, Mykonos, and Santorini in Greece; Funchal and Ponta Delgada in Portugal; Tirana in Albania; and Ljubljana in Slovenia.

Basically, if you’ve ever seen a European postcard that made you sigh dramatically, Iberia’s probably flying there this summer.

More Flights, Fewer Excuses

If you’re a fan of flexibility — or simply hate the phrase “fully booked” — Iberia’s also boosting capacity across some of its busiest European routes:

  • Milan will see up to 44 weekly flights (two more than before — because who doesn’t love a quick espresso and gelato run?).
  • Athens gets up to 29 weekly flights during peak season, perfect for those chasing both sunshine and souvlaki.
  • Nice will enjoy 24 weekly flights, adding three more chances per week to channel your inner Riviera movie star.

All this expansion supports Iberia’s 2030 Flight Plan, which aims to strengthen Madrid’s role as the ultimate connector between Europe and the Americas — or, in simpler terms, the place where you can go from tapas to tango in a single stop.

More Than Just an Airline Strategy — It’s a Summer Lifestyle

With these new routes and frequency boosts, Iberia isn’t just scheduling flights — it’s curating summer moods. Whether you’re drawn to Bucharest’s cultural buzz, Tivat’s coastal glam, or the endless appeal of Europe’s sun-soaked classics, the airline’s 2026 lineup makes it ridiculously easy to find your perfect escape.

So if you’ve been waiting for a sign to plan that European adventure — this is it. Iberia’s done the hard part (the logistics). All you have to do is pick between Romanian castles or Montenegrin beaches.

And if you can’t decide? Simple. Fly to both. Iberia’s got the routes covered — and they’re ready for takeoff.

Wizz Air

Wizz Air Lands Big in Podgorica 2026

Wizz Air Lands Big in Podgorica 2026: Montenegro’s About to Get a Whole Lot Busier

Hold onto your boarding passes, Montenegro — because Wizz Air just dropped some major travel news! Europe’s favorite purple-clad low-cost carrier is setting up its 36th base in Podgorica come March 2026, and let’s just say it’s bringing the party (and two shiny new Airbus A321neo aircraft) with it.

This isn’t just another airport update — it’s a full-blown aviation glow-up for Montenegro’s capital. With 14 brand-new routes ready for takeoff, Wizz Air is connecting Podgorica to more major European cities than ever before, adding over one million extra seats each year. Translation: way more options for spontaneous weekend getaways, business trips that sound suspiciously like vacations, and new excuses to “work remotely” from a beach café.

The Routes That Dreams Are Made Of

So, where can you jet off to from Podgorica’s soon-to-be-bustling tarmac? Wizz Air’s new destinations read like a European travel wish list:
Basel Mulhouse, Paris, BadenBaden, Cologne, Hamburg, Rome, Maastricht, Barcelona, Ljubljana, Malmö, Gdansk, Poznan, Rzeszow, and Wroclaw.

From romantic strolls along the Seine to tapas marathons in Barcelona, this lineup is pure travel temptation. It’s the kind of list that makes even the most devoted homebody start checking their passport’s expiration date.

Podgorica’s Big Moment

Until now, Podgorica has often been the quiet achiever of Balkan capitals — charming, scenic, and just under the radar. But not anymore. With Wizz Air setting up shop, it’s officially leveling up from “that place you pass through on the way to the coast” to a full-fledged European aviation hub.

The addition of two brand-new Airbus A321neos (you know, the sleek, fuel-efficient ones that make even budget travel feel fancy) means more flights, more comfort, and more connections than ever before. These planes are set to become the pride of Montenegro’s skies — or at least the most Instagrammed.

Good News for Travelers (and Montenegro’s Economy)

For travelers, this expansion means one thing: more choice at lower prices. Whether you’re itching for a weekend in Rome, craving waffles in Belgium, or curious about where exactly Baden-Baden is (spoiler: it’s lovely), Wizz Air has your back — and your boarding pass.

But it’s not just jet-setters who are celebrating. This move is a huge win for Montenegro’s tourism and economy too. More routes mean more visitors, more jobs, and a serious boost to local businesses. Expect hotels to fill up, restaurants to get busier, and taxi drivers to develop new levels of small-talk expertise.

Wizz Air’s European Takeover Continues

Wizz Air’s expansion streak shows no signs of slowing down. The airline is continuing its quest to paint Europe purple, base by base, and Podgorica is its latest lucky landing spot. With a growing fleet of next-gen aircraft and a knack for making travel accessible (and dare we say, fun), Wizz Air is proving that low-cost doesn’t have to mean low excitement.

Ready for Takeoff

Come March 2026, Podgorica’s departure boards are going to look a whole lot more exciting — and travelers will have 14 new reasons to fall in love with flying. Whether you’re planning a romantic escape to Paris, a cultural deep dive in Rome, or just chasing sunshine in Barcelona, Wizz Air’s got you covered.

So pack your bags, polish your passport, and start practicing your “sorry, I’m out of office” face — because Montenegro’s skies are about to get very busy, very soon.

KLM

KLM Exciting Summer Lineup 2025

KLM Summer Lineup Is Hotter Than the Tarmac in August

Ladies and gentlemen, fasten your seatbelts and stow your tray tables—because KLM is not just flying this summer, it’s soaring. The Dutch carrier is rolling out its biggest summer schedule yet, serving 161 destinations worldwide and preparing to welcome a whopping 6.4 million passengers between July and August. That’s more people than the population of Denmark, all jetting off to places that hopefully involve more sunscreen and fewer spreadsheets.

Oh, and in case you were wondering if this summer would look anything like last year—nope. KLM has added 4% more seat capacity, which means more places to sit, stretch, and awkwardly wrestle with your seatbelt.

More Flights, More Fun (Especially to North America and Southern Europe)

If you’re one of those people who starts planning your vacation before you’ve even unpacked from your last one, you’ll be pleased to know that flights to North America are up by 9%. That’s more planes heading across the Atlantic than ever before. Whether you’re craving tacos in San Diego, tech talk in Silicon Valley, or just some solid US sunshine, KLM has you covered.

And if your soul screams “southern Europe,” you’re in luck. Portugal and Croatia are getting a 25% boost in seat capacity. That’s right—more flights to custard tarts and island hopping.

Meet the New Destinations—They’re Kind of a Big Deal

This summer, KLM is introducing six brand-new routes, and they are not playing around.

Intercontinental routes:

  • San Diego, USA – Finally, a way to get to California without laying over in someone’s garage.
  • Georgetown, Guyana – The place you didn’t realize you needed to visit until now.
  • Hyderabad, India – Starting in September, for those who want their curry spicy and their tech scene thriving.

European additions:

  • Ljubljana, Slovenia – Say it five times fast, then book a flight and find out why this fairytale city is worth the tongue twister.
  • Exeter, UK – For when you want a bit of British countryside without the London chaos.
  • Biarritz, France – Surf’s up and baguettes are fresh. Need we say more?

Spoiler alert: San Diego, Biarritz, and Ljubljana are already booking like hotcakes, so don’t procrastinate unless you enjoy jealousy scrolling through your friends’ vacation posts.

A Chaotic (But Glorious) Start to the Season

KLM is kicking off July with a bang—or rather, a boarding call. From July 4 to 6, they expect to carry 330,000 passengers. That’s a lot of checked bags and in-flight snacks. So if you’re traveling that weekend, get to the airport early, wear your comfiest shoes, and prepare to meet every person you’ve ever seen on Instagram.

Upgrades to the Classics

KLM isn’t just about the new kids on the block. They’re also giving the tried-and-true routes some much-needed love.

Intercontinental boosts include:

  • Kilimanjaro/Dar es Salaam – Now flying daily, because five days a week just wasn’t enough for all the mountain climbers and safari-goers.
  • Las Vegas – You can now roll the dice every day through August.
  • Osaka and Tokyo Narita – Japan is calling, and now there are even more ways to answer.
  • Edmonton and Cape Town – More flights mean more chances to eat poutine or drink pinotage.
  • Curaçao – Your tropical escape now includes a Sunday flight. Amen.

In Europe:

  • Belfast – Upgraded to twice daily, which feels just right for those craving a pint and a potato.
  • Barcelona, Porto, Split, Krakow, and Poznan – All seeing frequency bumps so you can squeeze in a last-minute city break or two.

Goodbye Malpensa, Hello Linate

And finally, a quick PSA for Milan travelers: KLM is shifting all operations to Linate Airport, saying “ciao” to Malpensa. That means shorter rides to the city and more time for shopping, sightseeing, or doing nothing at all.

Bottom line? Whether you’re escaping to a beach, meeting clients in a new market, or finally going on that trip you swore you’d take in 2020, KLM is making it easier, smoother, and roomier. Just remember to check your passport, pack your snacks, and maybe book that extra legroom—because this summer is shaping up to be a busy one.

airBaltic Adds Exciting New Routes to Winter 2025 Schedule

airBaltic Adds Exciting New Routes to Winter 2025 Schedule

Latvian carrier airBaltic is turning up the heat for the Winter 2025 season—and no, we don’t mean the in-flight coffee. From seaside getaways in Portugal to snowy slopes in the Alps, the airline has unveiled a robust winter schedule that brings three new routes, increased flight frequencies, and continued service to some of Europe’s most sought-after destinations.

Running from late October 2025 through late March 2026, the winter program offers sunseekers, snow lovers, and city hoppers plenty to get excited about—even if the temperatures outside say otherwise.

New Winter Routes: Sunshine, Slopes, and Surprise Pairings

Let’s start with the newcomers. airBaltic is rolling out three brand-new routes to warm up your winter:

Riga – Faro (Portugal)
Start date: September 6, 2025 | Once weekly
Swap the snow for Algarve’s Atlantic breeze. This new route connects Latvia’s capital with Portugal’s sun-kissed southern coast just as the Baltic weather starts getting serious about frostbite.

Gran Canaria – Ljubljana (Slovenia)
Start date: October 25, 2025 | Once weekly
This one’s a wildcard—and a welcome one. Linking the Canary Islands with Slovenia’s charming capital, it’s perfect for travelers wanting to escape island life or spice up their winter with a little Adriatic flair.

Tallinn – Madeira (Portugal)
Start date: October 26, 2025 | Once weekly
Estonia meets the eternal spring of Madeira. Expect floral walks, mountain views, and a climate that makes you forget what month it is.

All three routes will be served weekly, offering both Economy and Business options—because sometimes you want a good deal, and sometimes you want a glass of bubbly at 30,000 feet.

Amsterdam, Amplified

It’s not just new destinations getting attention. airBaltic is also beefing up connections to major European hubs—most notably Amsterdam. The airline will now offer a whopping 19 flights per week from Riga, and 14 weekly flights each from Tallinn and Vilnius. That’s nearly three flights a day, giving Baltic travelers serious flexibility (and more opportunities to accidentally spend €40 on stroopwafels).

Dubai Dreaming

As temperatures in Northern Europe drop, interest in sunny escapes soars—and airBaltic is clearly listening. Daily flights from Riga to Dubai will keep the connection hot, while Vilnius to Dubai will see its service double to four times per week. Whether you’re heading for high-end shopping, desert adventures, or just a reliably warm beach, Dubai’s got you covered—and now more often than ever.

Summer Routes, Reimagined

Who says summer has to end in August? airBaltic is extending several sunny routes into the winter months:

  • Riga to Pisa and Porto will continue through November, letting you squeeze in a bit more gelato or port wine before winter hits.
  • Riga to Catania (Sicily) will also resume earlier than usual, now returning to the skies in March 2026, perfect for an early spring escape to Italian island life.

Egypt Escapes and Irish Returns

If pyramids and Red Sea snorkeling are on your wishlist, you’re in luck. airBaltic is increasing winter service to Egypt, with three weekly flights each to Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada from Riga.

Meanwhile, the popular Riga–Dublin route is making a winter comeback, offering two weekly flights, reconnecting Baltic travelers with the Irish capital—and maybe a proper pint of Guinness.

Snowbound? Sorted.

Ski bums and snowboarders, rejoice. airBaltic has made sure you’re covered with easy access to Europe’s top winter sports destinations. From Innsbruck and Salzburg to Geneva, Verona, and Kittilä, hitting the slopes is as easy as buckling your boots and boarding your flight.

A Winter to Remember

Whether you’re chasing sun, snow, or something in between, airBaltic’s Winter 2025 schedule brings together a smart mix of new destinations, expanded service, and extended seasonal favorites. With thoughtful connections across the Baltics, Southern Europe, and beyond, the airline is making it easier than ever to swap grey skies for great adventures.

So, go ahead—book the trip. Your winter story is about to get a whole lot warmer (or chillier, if that’s your thing).
