United Airlines is cranking up the heat at Chicago O’Hare for summer 2025, adding more flights to Europe, bringing back Reykjavik, and—just to keep things interesting—launching service to Billings, Montana. New Domestic Destinations (Yes, You Can Now Fly United to Montana)
Starting May 22, United will introduce daily flights to Ontario, California (ONT) and Billings, Montana (BIL). Ontario gets a Boeing 737-800, while Billings gets the Embraer E175, because nothing says “Montana adventure” like a cozy regional jet threading its way between herds of bison.

- Barcelona – United jumps the gun with an April 21 launch (10 days earlier than planned). It starts with a Boeing 787-10 before shifting to a 787-8 on May 1. More time for tapas? Yes, please.
- Dublin – The trusty Boeing 757-200 gets the boot, making way for a 787-8 on March 29. Translation: smoother ride, better seats, and fewer elbow wars with your seatmate.
- Milan Malpensa – Returns April 7, giving you ample time to sip espresso by the Duomo before the summer crowds take over.
- Munich & Paris – A bit of an aircraft shuffle: Munich gets a smaller 787-8, while Paris scores a roomier 787-10. So, if you’re hoping to stretch out on your way to Oktoberfest… maybe book Paris instead?
Reykjavik is Back, Shannon Joins the Party
United is at it again with its love relationship with Reykjavik, chopping off one unscheduled Alaska Airlines flight per week during the summer months. Now, passengers using Chicago Airlines can rest easy because the Chicago– Iceland route is back with a Boeing 757-200. From May 19 to September 23, you can hike in a volcano, chase waterfalls, or just sit in a hot spring wondering where all the Vikings have gone.
Right before that on May 22, Shannon Ireland is getting an “SNN” seasonal return on a daily basis. If you have always wanted to kiss the blarney stone, roam about the castles, or sit down to enjoy a pint of Guinness, consider that checked off your list.
