Wizz Air is back at it again—making headlines, shuffling gates, and doing what it does best: launching a flurry of new routes that’ll make your wanderlust go into overdrive. If you live in Bucharest or just enjoy chasing purple planes on flight trackers, prepare for takeoff. This October, Wizz Air is unleashing its biggest expansion in the Romanian capital yet, and it’s doing so with style—and a couple of airports in tow.

A New Bird in Baneasa

Let’s start with Baneasa Airport, Bucharest’s smaller, speedier cousin to Otopeni. Wizz Air is parking a second aircraft here, effectively transforming the airport from “Oh yeah, I forgot that was an option” to “Wait, we can fly from there?” Expect 42 flights per week jetting off from Baneasa, which means less time in security lines and more time debating whether to get a pretzel or a pre-boarding nap.

Flights to Basel, Frankfurt-Hahn, Memmingen, Nice, and Athens are moving exclusively to Baneasa. So if your muscle memory sends you to Otopeni, your beach towel may not make it to Nice.

The first Radisson RED property in Poland is now welcoming guests. Radisson RED Gdansk is part of the redevelopment of Granary Island in the center of the Pomeranian capital on the Baltic Sea. With this new opening, Radisson Hotel Group’s portfolio in Poland has grown to 22 properties in operation and under development.

Gdańsk, the capital of Pomerania, has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe, thanks to its strategic location on the Baltic Sea and its rich history as a member of the city of the Hanseatic League. The historic center of Gdansk, rebuilt after its destruction in 1945, is home to many famous landmarks, including St. Mary’s Basilica, the Golden Gate, Artus Court, and the Main City Hall, and can easily be discovered on foot from the hotel. Among the museums of Gdańsk are the European Solidarity Centre, devoted to the Solidarność civil rights movement, and the Museum of the Second World War with its rich collection of military equipment, documents, and memorabilia.

Radisson RED Gdansk is housed in a reconstructed port warehouse right by the Motława River. During its reconstruction, the original walls were retained, giving the building a truly unique loft-style look.
