Austrian Airlines expands for Summer 2026 with 7 new destinations

Austrian Airlines expands for Summer 2026 with 7 new destinations

Hold on to your Sacher-Torte — Austrian Airlines just dropped its Summer 2026 schedule, and it’s bursting with new destinations, more Mediterranean getaways, and even a few “coolcation” escapes for those who’d rather wear a sweater than sunscreen.

From March 29 to October 24, 2026, Austria’s flag carrier will serve 133 destinations worldwide (because apparently, 127 just wasn’t enough last year). That includes 113 short- and medium-haul routes and 20 long-haul ones — proof that Austrian is in full-on “let’s go everywhere” mode.

Seven shiny new destinations

Because seven is the magic number (and also the number of times you’ll repack before your flight), Austrian Airlines is adding:

  • Ponta Delgada, Azores – Weekly from late June to early September. Think volcanic landscapes, whale watching, and that smug feeling of being “off the beaten path.”
  • Alicante, Spain – Twice weekly (Wednesdays and Sundays). For those who like their beaches with a side of sangria.
  • Bilbao, Spain – Twice weekly (Wednesdays and Sundays). Where modern art meets mouthwatering pintxos.
  • Bastia, Corsica – Twice weekly (Tuesdays and Saturdays). Perfect for anyone who can’t decide between France and Italy.
  • Ohrid, North Macedonia – Twice weekly (Wednesdays and Sundays). A fairytale lake city with medieval charm and water so clear you’ll question reality.
  • Mytilene, Lesbos, Greece – Weekly on Mondays. Sunshine, seafood, and serenity — because Mondays deserve a little love.
  • Bergen, Norway – Three times weekly (early June to mid-September). A “coolcation” dream with fjords, fresh air, and zero chance of sunburn.

A Mediterranean comeback tour

If your 2026 travel mood board looks like “somewhere warm with olives,” you’re in luck. Austrian Airlines is boosting flights to the Med’s hottest spots, adding:

  • +5 weekly flights to Barcelona (because one can never have too many tapas options).
  • +3 to Málaga, for those who enjoy sunshine and pretending they’re in a music video.
  • +1 to Funchal and Tenerife, because even the Atlantic islands want in on the fun.

In total, the network now includes 21 Greek and 11 Spanish destinations — plus Italy, which remains irresistible as ever. Milan Linate even joins the summer schedule after a successful winter debut. Apparently, Milan’s fashion doesn’t take a vacation either.

Chilling is the new thrilling

For those who believe that sweating through your linen outfit isn’t a holiday, Austrian is embracing the “coolcation” trend — the art of escaping the heat in style.

The airline is ramping up flights to Norway, now offering 13 weekly services (up from 9), including Oslo, Tromsø, the Lofoten Islands, and the newcomer Bergen.

Also back for summer 2026: Edinburgh (where castles meet bagpipes) and Sylt, Germany’s chic North Sea island that’s basically the Hamptons with more pretzels.

Long-haul legends

Of course, Austrian Airlines isn’t forgetting the big adventures. Its long-haul lineup stays strong with:

  • Africa: Cairo (year-round), Mauritius, Marrakech
  • Asia: Bangkok, Tokyo, Shanghai, Malé
  • North America: Boston, New York (JFK & EWR), Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles, Montreal

Basically, if you spin a globe, Austrian probably flies there — or will soon.

Extra planes, extra possibilities

To keep up with all these new routes, Austrian Airlines will add two aircraft through its wet-lease partner airBaltic. This ensures everything runs smoothly (and Vienna doesn’t turn into a game of “find the empty gate”).

CEO of Austrian Airlines, Annette Mann,  summed it up best:

“With our 2026 summer schedule, we aim to serve our guests’ favourite Mediterranean destinations with increased frequencies while also offering exciting new opportunities for travel planning.”

Translation: We’re flying you to the sun, the snow, and everywhere in between — because you deserve options.

She added that expanding capacity reaffirms the airline’s commitment to its home base in Vienna — and to the noble mission of making every summer itinerary a little harder to choose.

So whether you’re craving Greek beaches, Nordic fjords, or just another excuse to tell your boss you’ll be “working remotely,” Austrian’s summer schedule has you covered — literally from the Azores to the Arctic Circle.

Better start packing now. (And don’t forget the sunscreen and the scarf — just in case.)

Air France

Air France Goes Big for Winter 2025–26

Air France Goes Big for Winter 2025–26: Phuket, Punta Cana, and Pure Parisian Panache

Pack your sunglasses and your scarf — Air France just dropped its winter schedule, and it’s basically the travel equivalent of a five-star buffet. Think new exotic routes, sleek new aircraft, a first-class suite that’s more luxurious than most people’s apartments, and Wi-Fi that actually works.

From November 2025 to March 2026, Air France is pulling out all the stops, with nearly 800 daily flights to 170 destinations in 73 countries — and a 3% increase in long-haul capacity. Translation: more seats, more sunshine, and more excuses to book “just one more trip.”

Bonjour, Beaches! New Long-Haul Routes Incoming

If you’ve ever wanted to swap Parisian drizzle for something a little more… tropical, Air France has your back (and your beach towel).

Starting 27 November 2025, Air France will launch ParisPhuket flights up to three times a week. Expect white-sand beaches, clear blue water, and just enough humidity to give your hair a personality of its own.

Then, from 13 January to 28 March 2026, get ready for ParisPunta Cana — also three times a week — because apparently winter blues are best cured with a coconut drink and a dance floor under the stars.

Both routes will be operated by the Boeing 777-300ER, so you’ll have plenty of space to stretch out and pretend you’re in a movie montage as you fly from croissants to coconuts.

Global Highlights: Air France Turns the World Into a Weekend Option

Air France isn’t just adding destinations — it’s turning up the volume across its entire network.

  • North America: The ever-popular ParisOrlando route continues with five weekly A350 flights, because who doesn’t love the idea of Mickey Mouse with a French accent? Meanwhile, RaleighDurham, Cancún, and Papeete are all going daily, which means spontaneous trips to paradise just got way too easy.
  • South America & Caribbean: Up to 12 weekly flights to Rio de Janeiro, 5 to Salvador de Bahia, and 10 to San José (Costa Rica). Basically, if there’s a beach, a cocktail, and a samba rhythm, Air France is flying there.
  • Africa & Indian Ocean: Daily service to Cape Town, 5 weekly to ZanzibarKilimanjaro, and more flights to Mauritius, because apparently paradise comes in multiple time zones.
  • Asia & Middle East: Twice-daily flights to Bangkok, 3 weekly to Riyadh, and a whopping 16 to Dubai — which sounds like overkill until you realize half the plane is probably influencers chasing sunset photos.

La Première Suite: Because Flying Should Feel Like a Spa Day

Forget reclining seats — Air France’s new La Première suite is more like a mini Parisian penthouse at 30,000 feet. Spanning five windows (yes, five), it’s already available on routes to New York-JFK, Singapore, and Los Angeles, with Miami joining in December 2025 and TokyoHaneda in March 2026.

And for those lucky few at LAX, there’s now a dedicated La Première check-in and lounge — the kind of place where champagne flows, luggage glides itself, and you briefly forget you’re about to sit on a plane with the rest of us.

Wi-Fi That Actually Works (No, Really)

By the end of 2025, 30% of Air France’s fleet will have high-speed Wi-Fi — with full coverage by 2026. And get this: it’s free. So you can stream, scroll, and brag about your “work trip” from literally anywhere above the Atlantic.

Europe, Don’t Feel Left Out

While the long-haul news is stealing the spotlight, Air France is still keeping things close to home with a short- and medium-haul network that’s busier than a Paris café at lunchtime.

Expect up to 630 daily flights to over 90 destinations, with extra frequencies to Toulouse, Marseille, and Nice, plus major European favorites like London, Milan, Munich, and Zurich.

And let’s not forget Transavia France, the group’s low-cost sibling, which will serve 109 destinations in 29 countries — because sometimes you want French flair, and sometimes you just want cheap flights to the beach.

The Bottom Line: A Little Bit Fancy, a Lot More Fun

Air France’s winter 2025–26 lineup isn’t just about getting from A to B — it’s about making the journey feel like part of the holiday. With new routes to Phuket and Punta Cana, expanded global service, and a first-class suite that redefines “flying in style,” the airline is proving that luxury and wanderlust go hand in hand.

So whether you’re dreaming of sipping piña coladas, chasing sunsets in the Indian Ocean, or simply showing off your new La Première slippers — Air France has your winter escape sorted. Just remember to pack your sense of adventure… and maybe your SPF 50.

Air France-KLM and SAS exciting Codeshare Agreement 2025

Air France-KLM and SAS exciting Codeshare Agreement 2025

If airline partnerships sound like something only executives in crisp suits should care about, think again. Air France-KLM and SAS have just tightened their friendship bracelet with a shiny new codeshare agreement that covers SAS’s nonstop flights from Scandinavia to the United States. Translation: more routes, more perks, and fewer late-night “is this a good price or should I wait?” Googling sessions.

This move builds on the bromance that started in 2024 and went official when SAS hopped into the SkyTeam alliance last year. Now, they’re practically joined at the hip—and your boarding pass is the golden ticket to this new transatlantic playground.

What’s Actually in the Deal

Here’s the headline: Air France will now stick its code onto a juicy set of SAS’s U.S.-bound flights. Think of it like a rebrand—but with actual benefits.

  • From Copenhagen (CPH): Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York–JFK, New York–Newark, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington D.C. In other words, Copenhagen is now your ultimate gateway drug to America.
  • From Stockholm (ARN): Miami and New York–Newark, because sometimes Swedes want sunshine and sometimes they want skyscrapers.
  • From Oslo (OSL): New York–Newark and JFK, proving Norwegians don’t like to choose when they can have both.

Tickets are already live on Air France, KLM, and SAS. So if you’ve been looking for an excuse to eat cheesecake in New York or hit the beaches in Miami, consider this your sign.

Why You Should Care (Yes, You)

This isn’t just another boring “airline alliance” announcement—it’s a lifestyle upgrade. Travelers get:

  • Seamless connections: One booking, one itinerary, zero “surprise, you’re actually flying on a different airline” moments.
  • Loyalty perks: Flying Blue members can rack up miles and XP points on SAS flights. That weekend dash to Miami might finally push you into elite status.
  • Reward seats: More chances to spend the miles you’ve been hoarding since 2017 like they’re fine wine.

Basically, it’s like having a VIP pass to two networks instead of one—without having to sell a kidney.

Why This Matters for Transatlantic Travelers

For business types, this means fewer headaches when booking last-minute trips between Scandinavia and the U.S. (and more time to practice your “networking smile”).

For leisure travelers, it’s one step closer to that Route 66 road trip—or at least a long weekend in Boston pretending you actually enjoy lobster rolls.

Let’s be real: Scandinavians love America almost as much as they love minimalist furniture and candles in winter. With new nonstop options to places like Los Angeles and Miami, they can jet straight into Hollywood or South Beach without detouring through Paris or Amsterdam.

The Bigger Picture

This partnership isn’t happening in isolation—it builds on codeshares already in place between Paris, Amsterdam, and long-haul destinations, plus a ton of European connections. Together, Air France-KLM and SAS are weaving an impressively tight transatlantic web.

Both airlines insist this is about giving passengers more flexibility and perks. Of course, it’s also about filling seats, but hey—when corporate interests align with easier travel, who are we to complain?

The Bottom Line

Air France-KLM and SAS’s new codeshare is a win-win. More nonstop options from Scandinavia, more perks for frequent flyers, and more excuses to travel. It’s living proof that sometimes airline partnerships aren’t just corporate jargon—they actually make your trips smoother, your choices wider, and your loyalty points pile up faster.

So the next time you’re daydreaming about New York bagels, Miami beaches, or Seattle coffee, remember: thanks to this partnership, there are now more ways to get there. And if you’re lucky, you might even score a reward seat. Just don’t forget to practice saying “I only booked this for the miles” with a straight face.

Lufthansa Group unveils Exciting Winter 2025/26 flight schedule

Lufthansa Group unveils Exciting Winter 2025/26 flight schedule

If your idea of a perfect winter includes hot chocolate, snow-covered mountains, and a spontaneous trip to Tokyo or the Seychelles—then great news: the Lufthansa Group just dropped its Winter 2025/26 flight schedule like it’s the season’s hottest new Netflix show.

The group’s star-studded cast—Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, SWISS, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, and Discover Airlines—have all signed on for a winter full of shiny new routes, upgraded cabins, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting. Flights kick off from October 26, and you can already book your seat before that one indecisive friend ruins your travel plans.

Lufthansa: A350s, Allegris, and a Cabin Makeover That Would Impress Marie Kondo

Let’s start with the headliner: Lufthansa. This winter, they’re giving their long-haul fleet a makeover with the sleek new Allegris cabins, because apparently, even airplanes deserve spa days. The upgrade covers every cabin class—from Economy (where your knees may now rejoice) to First Class (where you basically get a hotel suite in the sky).

And they’re not being shy about it. Ten fancy Airbus A350-900s with Allegris are flying out of Munich daily to the likes of New York (both JFK and Newark, because Lufthansa doesn’t pick sides), Chicago, Miami, Tokyo, Cape Town, and Shanghai. Bengaluru gets three weekly flights, which is perfect if you’re craving sunshine and tech startups.

Meanwhile, Frankfurt gets in on the glam with Allegris debuting on the Boeing 787-9 and those big, beautiful 747-8s (the ones that look like they belong in a museum but still rock the skies).

Lufthansa’s also keeping some summer newcomers—Bydgoszcz (Poland) and Oradea (Romania)—through winter. Oh, and the Airbus A380 is sticking around in Munich for its greatest hits tour to LA, San Francisco, Bangkok, and Delhi, because passengers love it and so do the flight crews (and frankly, we all enjoy walking upstairs mid-flight just because we can).

Austrian Airlines: Moving Milan, Doubling Down on Bangkok

Austrian Airlines is channeling their inner travel influencer by increasing flights from Vienna to Bangkok to up to twice daily—perfect for those who prefer pad thai over strudel in January.

And for anyone tired of dragging themselves across Milan’s endless airport hallways, good news: Austrian is switching flights from Malpensa to the much more central Linate Airport, aka Milan’s version of “actually convenient.”

They’re also expanding Innsbruck’s international menu, now offering flights to Amsterdam, in addition to Brussels, Warsaw, and Copenhagen. So yes, your ski trip just got some extra culture baked in.

SWISS: Eastern Europe and Alpine Access for the Ski-Happy

SWISS is focusing on Eastern Europe and snow-chasers. Routes to Krakow, Cluj-Napoca, and Košice return like seasonal favorites, and Washington D.C. gets added back to Zurich’s long-haul list—because nothing says winter quite like Swiss precision meeting Capitol Hill gridlock.

Out of Geneva, they’re boosting flights to Ireland, the UK, and Scandinavia, mostly to accommodate the incoming flood of people who just realized the Swiss Alps > any Zoom background.

Brussels Airlines: All In on Africa

Brussels Airlines is quietly becoming the go-to airline if your travel bucket list includes West Africa. They’re adding more flights to Togo, Senegal, Guinea, Liberia, Ghana, and Sierra Leone—basically reinforcing their title as Lufthansa Group’s African network MVP.

Eurowings: Turning Berlin into a Desert Gateway

Eurowings is feeling fancy. This winter, they’ll fly three times a week to Abu Dhabi from Berlin, making it the capital’s third long-haul destination after Dubai and Jeddah. Berlin–Dubai also gets a frequency boost (up to 11 times a week), probably because Berliners realized it’s warmer there.

Plus: HanoverDubai, StuttgartJeddah, and new Marsa Alam flights from Cologne, Hamburg, and Berlin. Basically, if there’s sun involved, Eurowings is taking you there.

Discover Airlines: Seychelles and Snow in the Same Schedule

Last but not least, Discover Airlines is really living up to its name. This winter, they’re launching direct flights from Frankfurt to the Seychelles—because yes, you do deserve that tropical escape after surviving German winter.

Other highlights? MunichPunta Cana (sun, rum, done) and a chilly new route to Alta, Norway, for those who enjoy snowflakes and Northern Lights more than sunburn and sand.

Bottom line? Lufthansa Group’s winter schedule is stacked. Whether you’re chasing sun, snow, schnitzel, or a better seat in business class, they’ve got you covered—Allegris and all.
