Just when you thought Air India had already covered every possible flight path, they’ve decided that more is more. For Summer 2025, they’re cranking up their flight schedule across the UK, Europe, Asia, and Africa—because apparently, their passengers have an insatiable need to collect passport stamps.

Starting March 30, 2025, Air India is rolling out extra flights, upgrading some planes (finally!), and—because no airline announcement is complete without a little drama—putting a few routes on temporary pause. Let’s dive into the highlights.

UK: Because One London Flight Is Never Enough

  • Delhi–London Heathrow: Scheduled to increase from 21 to 24 flights weekly. Quite a number of arrivals at Heathrow’s Terminal 2.
  • Amritsar–Birmingham: Better still, these markets will also be having one additional flight, making it 4 flights weekly, which is helpful for anyone trying to explain Punjabi cuisine to the bewildered locals.
  • Amritsar–London Gatwick: Increased from 3 to 4 weekly flights. Increased opportunities at landing at Gatwick and then wishing you were at Heathrow.
  • Ahmedabad–London Gatwick: Now with 5 weekly flights instead of 3. If you’re inclined to a very short flight but extremely long shuttle ride to and from the airport, look no further than Gatwick.

  • Delhi–Zurich: Increasing from 4 to 5 flights a week—one extra opportunity to smuggle duty-free Toblerone home.

Air India’s fleet refresh is actually happening (no, really). The first Boeing 787 with brand-new seats and entertainment systems rolls out in October 2025. As for the Boeing 777 upgrade? Well, that’s been postponed to early 2026, proving once again that if there’s one thing Boeing excels at, it’s delays.

  • Mumbai–Melbourne: Suspended from March 30 to September 13, 2025. Australians, try not to take it personally.

The Details: Four Flights a Week, and Plenty of Room to Stretch Your Legs!

The Turkish Airlines flight lands in Santiago on the 15th of the month at around 9:45 am, meaning it has caught the beautiful Chilean sunshine. This new route will be a game-changer in terms of global connectivity and best of all, it is set to operate 4 times in a week for everyone. The capacity of an Airbus A350-900 is said to be 324 passengers which means the long haul number of passengers should not be something alarming. All in all, whether you are meeting new people, having a couple of extra in flight snacks or just relaxing while sitting, there’s enough space to expand!

So here is the short summary of how one can travel from Santiago to Istanbul. The flights are available every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday with departure time at 11:40 am and a layover time of one and a half hours in Sao Paulo. Then the next day when it is 11:20 am, the flight reaches Istanbul, at what is just a perfect time to have a kebab after the flight.
