Etihad Airways, the official carrier of United Arab Emirates, will reinstate its non-stop flights between Abu Dhabi and Nairobi, Kenya. After 2020’s pandemic halt in operations, direct flights between these two lively cities will be available for travellers from December 15, 2024.

  • Resumption Date: The nonstop service between Abu Dhabi and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi will recommence on December 15, 2024.

Budapest Airport Unveils 4 New Routes

Budapest Airport has announced that Wizz Air will be launching four new year-round routes starting in winter 2024. These routes include two new destinations and the return of two previous ones.

New and Revived Routes:

Marrakech (Morocco): Starting late October there will be a twice weekly flight on Tuesdays and Saturdays. This re-establishes a direct connection with Morocco which was last available in 2019.

Genoa (Italy): Starting late October there will be a flight three times a week which aims at Hungarian cruise travellers and tourists who previously travelled via Milan.

Girona (Spain):  Starting late October this three weekly flight will improv Budapest’s connectivity to Spain and Southern France and the Pyrenees.

Memmingen (Germany): Starting December 17 this four weekly flight restores a link to Bavaria which was last available in 2012 which offers an alternative gateway to Munich.

ITA Airways has opened a new route between Rome and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. Since the airline started flying to Riyadh in June 2024, this new route will be the second summer 2024 destination for ITA Airways in Saudi Arabia, giving travellers more options to get into the country.

Beginning October 27th  2024, Finnair are dramatically increasing its service on the London Heathrow to Helsinki route, The service will have two additional daily flights. This 50% boost in capacity means up to six daily flights in both directions, improving connectivity across the Nordics, Baltics, and Asia.

The Iberian Group is happy that it has finally launched its new direct flights from Madrid to Ljubljana. This will give more than 2500 sits over the summer to the charming Slovenian capital. It will fly twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Aircraft: The route will be operated by Air Nostrum’s Canadair Regional Jet 1000 which has 100 seats in a 2-2 configuration across 25 rows.

Schedule: Iberia’s website and various travel agencies are now accepting bookings.

Inaugural Flight: The inaugural flight , IB8666, took off from Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport at 12:10 PM local time and landed at Jože Pučnik Airport at 2:40 PM Slovenian time. To increase its regional presence, the Uganda national carrier, Uganda Airlines is to open up more routes to key cities in Africa. The objective behind this extension is to create a strong intercontinental network that will support the airlines’ long-haul flights like London, Mumbai, and Dubai.

Uganda Airlines is a revival of the original airline that ran from 1977 until 2001; it is still relatively new. Last year in August marked the beginning of operations for this version which has been striving to expand its African coverage ever since. This growth of their networks represents a significant milestone in their strategy for growing internationally as well as positioning themselves as one among many important connectors within Africa.

New Routes & Schedule: Uganda Airlines Boosts Local and International Flight Connections 2024

  • Lusaka, Zambia / Harare, Zimbabwe: From September 25th, 2024 Uganda airlines will operate direct flights connecting Lusaka and Harare four times per week through triangular operations on Entebbe-Lusaka-Harare route so that resource allocation could be efficient enough while meeting demand patterns between these two countries.
