Riga’s new airport hotel – Hotel Hampton by Hilton planned in 2022

hotel news

November 24, 2021 – Riga’s new airport hotel set to open in 2022.

A hotel with 189 guest rooms worth 14.9 million euros is being constructed near Riga International Airport. The economy class hotel Hampton by Hilton will be the first global chain hotel in direct vicinity of Riga Airport, and it is expected to open its doors already in the 2nd quarter of 2022. The construction works have been entrusted to Latvian company UBP.

Riga’s new airport hotel

The three-star hotel will be located approximately a kilometre away from the airport exit and will thus be easily accessible to transit passengers and late guests. It will be a few minutes’ walk away, saving potential guests the transport fare. It is planned that the hotel will have a spacious 120 square metre business centre, a restaurant, a gym, and 90 parking spaces. The construction works were already started in December 2020 and are going to be completed at the beginning of next year. The opening of the hotel is planned in April 2022.

“Every major airport should have a hotel nearby where transit passengers can spend the night between their flights or have a rest if their flight is cancelled or delayed. We are glad to be able to take part in the improvement of the surroundings of Riga International Airport, helping to build a global chain hotel. I believe the hotel will be appreciated by both visitors and locals of Riga because high quality accommodation near the airport will promote the flow of tourists and contribute to the economy. We are also delighted to begin cooperation with our new partner I Asset Management and hope to implement other important projects together in the future,” says Bigbank Latvia Corporate Loan Department manager Mareks Grodskis.

Bigbank Latvia has supported the construction of the Hampton by Hilton hotel, granting a six million euro loan. Development of the project continues despite the destructive impact of the pandemic on tourism and the economy, when many other developers have frozen the development of hotels. Whereas I Asset Management is taking this time as an opportunity to overtake competitors and be ahead when life returns to normal.

“We are building the first international brand hotel near Riga Airport. The project is an investment in the region – there are no known-brand hotels in the vicinity of Riga Airport, which is why competition is small, whereas the potential is huge. Riga International Airport serves almost half of all the passengers in the Baltic region, and is planning to become an important junction in the entire Northern region. Moreover, a new railway station will be opened here in 2026 within the Rail Baltica project, thus creating the first high-speed railway and air transport junction in the Baltics. These considerations and the demand for a hotel in the area are so strong that not even the pandemic stopped us from starting construction works,” explains I Asset Management representative, Airport Hotels Fund investment director Laurynas Antropikas.

Hampton by Hilton is one of the best-known hotel brands. The hotel is operating under this name in 119 countries all over the world, and more than 100 million people have registered with its loyalty programme. The first hotel of this brand was opened in 1959 in San Francisco.

AS Bigbank is an Estonian bank specialising in consumption credit and corporate loans, as well as in providing profitable term deposit services. The company expanded its activities outside Estonia, establishing branches in Finland, Sweden, Latvia and Lithuania, as well as offering cross-border services in Austria, Germany and the Netherlands. The company is led by Martins Lants, a Board Member of the Group. Svens Raba, Marts Veskimagi and Argo Kiltsmans are also Members of the Board.

Qantas new flights to Singapore and Delhi

airline news

blank

blank

November 24, 2021 -Qantas new flights – international flights from Melbourne take off again today for the first time in 20 months after the pandemic grounded international travel.

The national carrier will recommence scheduled international flights from Melbourne today with flight QF35 bound for Singapore departing at 11.50am.

Qantas new flights

Qantas has also announced it will launch a brand-new international route from Melbourne to Delhi from 22 December 2021, connecting Victoria to the Indian capital on a Qantas-operated flight for the first time in the airline’s history.

The new Melbourne-Delhi flight will operate four times a week, year-round. Same day connections will also be available from Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra. Flights from Melbourne to Delhi will initially operate via Adelaide, while flights from Delhi to Melbourne will operate nonstop.

This follows the recent announcement of flights from Sydney to Delhi, which start next month. When this route went on sale, Qantas saw the fastest booking surge for flights leaving Australia since the airline announced its international restart plans in August.

Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce said the relaunch of international flights from Victoria will pave the way for long-awaited reunions with loved ones, as well as help the state retain its position as one of Australia’s premier destinations for global travellers.

“Victorians have done it tougher than most over the past two years and we think many will see the restart of Qantas international flights as another important step towards life getting back to normal,” Mr Joyce said.

“We are starting to see more and more Victorians booking a much-deserved international getaway, and as borders open up to international visitors we’re expecting to see them visit Melbourne in large numbers, which will give local tourism and hospitality businesses a boost.

“The restart of our international flights is only possible because of the way Victorians and Australians more broadly have rolled up their sleeves to get the jab.

“While the past 20 months has undoubtedly been the most challenging in Qantas’ history, as we emerge from the crisis we are taking new opportunities to broaden our network in response to unprecedented pent-up travel demand. This is helping us bring more Qantas employees back to work.

Qantas will also relaunch flights from Melbourne-London on 27 November 2021 and Melbourne-Los Angeles from 19 December 2021.

While the international travel experience will largely be the same as pre-COVID, some things will look and feel a little different, particularly in the short-term.

Qantas has rolled out a range of new initiatives including a customised digital travel guide designed to help passengers navigate travel requirements before they leave home.

The launch of international flights coincides with the opening of the Qantas First Lounge at Melbourne International Airport.

While normally reserved for Platinum Frequent Flyers, Qantas will extend an invitation to customers travelling in Business, Gold Frequent Flyers and Qantas Club members to visit the First Lounge until the neighbouring Business Lounge reopens.

Customers will be offered a hybrid dining experience designed by Neil Perry featuring some of the most popular menu items from both the First and Business lounges, such as salt and pepper squid with green chilli dipping sauce, Neil’s pork and veal lasagna and the signature pavlova, as well as fine wines and barista coffee.

For a limited time, the menu will also feature chicken satays and vegetable samosas to celebrate the restart of Singapore flights and the new Melbourne-Delhi flights.

Qantas has reopened nearly all of its 35 Domestic Qantas Club and Business lounges across Australia.

It will open the remainder of its international lounges in Australia and overseas in line with the broader reopening of international borders and recommencement of the rest of Qantas’ international network.

The International Business Lounge in Singapore is on track to open early December. In the interim, eligible guests can use the SATS Lounge in Singapore.

All passengers on Qantas international flights are required to be fully vaccinated, unless they are under 12 years old, are 12-17 year olds travelling to Australia with their family or guardian or have an exemption. For full details, visit qantas.com.

Initial international flights are limited to Australian citizens, permanent residents and their immediate families and parents in line with Federal Government requirements. It’s expected this will be extended to other travellers in the coming months.

International flights are subject to Government and Regulatory approval

November 24 2021 – Egypt temple – A Lost 4,500-Year-Old Sun Temple In Egypt

New Archeological Discoveries

The biggest archaeological discovery of the past five decades was uncovered south of Cairo, a 4500-year-old temple, that is believed to be one of Egypt’s six lost “Temples of The Sun”.

Egypt Temple of the Sun

Egyptian Pharaohs are thought to have built six sun temples. While pyramids were built to preserve a pharaoh’s standing as a heavenly entity in the afterlife, sun temples acted as their shrine and were much smaller in scale.

This Sun Temple is an extremely rare find, being the third ever discovered and the first unearthed in the last five decades. The recent temple is considered to have been erected between 2400 and 2370 BCE, dedicated to Sun God ‘Ra.

Ryanair Madeira Airport – new base

November 24, 2021 – 2 Based Aircraft, $200m Investment, 10 New Routes, 60 New Jobs

Ryanair, Europe’s largest and greenest airline, today (23rd Nov) announced the opening of its fifth base in Portugal with 2 new based aircraft, representing an investment of $200m alongside the introduction of 10 new routes – connecting Madeira with mainland Portugal and with 6 other European countries, positioning the region as a leading tourism destination.

Ryanair Madeira

Ryanair’s new Summer ‘22 Madeira base will deliver:

  • $200m investment
  • 2 based aircraft
  • 60 direct jobs
  • over 40 departing flights per week
  • 10 new routes – more than any other airline

Ryanair’s new base at Madeira represents its commitment to Portugal and further demonstrates Ryanair’s ability to rapidly rebuild Portugal’s tourism industry, with over 40 weekly flights across 10 new routes, including 5 exclusive routes, next Summer. Ryanair will operate over 160 Portuguese routes next Summer (over twice as many as TAP), to 15 countries, making Ryanair Portugal’s number one carrier for choice, fares and on time performance.

To celebrate the opening of its new Madeira base, Ryanair is launching an exciting seat sale with fares from just €29.99 for next Summer – fantastic news for those planning a relaxing summer holiday or an adventurous weekend excursion to Madeira. Known for its famously fine wine and stunning scenic mountain trails, these amazingly low fares are available until Thursday 25th November only, on Ryanair.com.

NEW SUMMER ‘22 ROUTES TO MADEIRA

Brussels Charleroi
Dublin
Lisbon
London Stansted
Manchester
Marseille
Milan Bergamo
Nuremberg
Paris Beauvais

Ryanair’s CEO Eddie Wilson said:

“We are delighted to announce the opening of our new base in Madeira, which will deliver increased connectivity with 2 based aircraft and 40 weekly flights across 10 new routes, connecting Madeira with cities such as London, Paris, Dublin, Milan and Manchester on a year round basis. This $200m investment will not only boost Portugal’s economy by driving vital tourism but will also create more than 60 direct jobs in the region and over 400 on-site jobs in Madeira.

Efficient operations and competitive airport charges provide the foundation from which Ryanair can deliver long-term traffic growth and increased connectivity. We worked closely with our partners in Madeira airport, Tourism de Portugal and APM to secure this growth and improve the services for those that live, work, or wish to visit the region.

At a time when other airlines are reducing their fleets and closing bases, we are delighted to continue to invest in both our people and airports in Portugal. We urge the Portuguese Govt. to do likewise by opening Lisbon-Montijo, scrapping the ill-timed aviation tax (which is a direct tax on tourism) and introducing a non-discriminatory traffic recovery scheme.  All of which could be easily funded with the €3.2bn of wasteful state aid granted to the small zombie airline TAP, by the Portuguese Govt.

Ryanair will operate over 160 Portuguese routes next Summer (over twice as many as TAP), to 15 countries, making Ryanair Portugal’s number one carrier for choice, fares and on time performance.  To celebrate, we are launching a seat sale with fares available from €29.99 for travel next Summer, which must be booked by Thursday 25th November. Since these amazing low fares will be snapped up quickly, customers should log onto www.ryanair.com now to avoid missing out.”

ANA- VINCI Airports’ CEO, Thierry Ligonnière, said:

“The announcement of Ryanair’s base in Madeira for the summer of 2022 is excellent news for the Autonomous Region of Madeira. This base is the result of a partnership with Ryanair, the Madeira Tourism Promotion Association and the Portuguese Tourism Board. In addition to reinforcing the existing partnership between VINCI and Ryanair, this base will allow, through the opening of 5 new routes in 2022, a significant increase in Madeira’s connectivity, boosting the diversification of tourist markets, so important for the recovery and growth of tourism in the region.”

Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment on Airbnb and it includes her magnificent closet!

November 23, 2021- Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment on AirBNB.  I wonder if Mr Big will make an appearance?

Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment on AirBNB

In celebration of the upcoming release of the HBO Max Original And Just Like That…, the highly-anticipated new chapter of Sex and the City, the award-winning actress and producer is opening the doors to Carrie Bradshaw’s New York City brownstone, in partnership with Airbnb and Warner Bros. Consumer Products.

  • Hopeless romantics can sip Cosmopolitans, type pensively at their laptop and chat with friends on a circa-2000 cordless phone at Carrie’s Upper East Side apartment.
  • For the first time ever, guests will enjoy unique access to the style icon’s closet (tutu, too!), alongside fab and friendship-centric experiences like brunch in Chelsea and a fashion-focused photoshoot.

It’s been 20+ years since unlucky-in-love advice columnist Carrie Bradshaw stepped into our lives – in stilettos, no less – on Sex and the City. As anticipation builds to revisit the beloved character in her newest chapter, And Just Like That…, Sarah Jessica Parker is adding Airbnb Host to her repertoire and offering fans a once-in-a-lifetime stay at Carrie’s apartment – lust-worthy closet included.

Sarah Jessica Parker will host two, one-night stays for up to two guests each at a recreation of Carrie’s brownstone on November 12 and 13 for only $23* a night, in honor of the 23 years since we were first introduced to the fashion-forward icon and her friends.

“The Carrie Bradshaw character is near and dear to my heart, and revisiting her world for the continuation of the Sex and the City story has been such a joy,” said Parker. “I’m excited for our audience to experience Carrie’s New York like never before and walk in her shoes, quite literally, for the first time.“

A stay at Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment –

So we couldn’t help but wonder…what would a night at Carrie’s look like? During their stays, guests will be immersed in a quintessentially Carrie experience with:

  • A virtual greeting at check-in from Sarah Jessica Parker herself, and a narration reminiscent of each episode’s thought-provoking intro.
  • The opportunity to descend the steps of her brownstone and stroll the streets of Manhattan (splash from a city bus not included).
  • Cosmopolitans for a toast.
  • The chance to admire and play dress-up in Carrie’s iconic closet, complete with her favorite looks (like the Patricia Field tutu she wears in the opening credits), designers, and of course, shoes!
  • A styling session and photoshoot where guests can channel their inner fashionistas.

To celebrate Carrie’s return to television screens, Airbnb will make a one-time donation to The Studio Museum in Harlem, a contemporary art museum championing the work of artists of African descent.

The cruise line’s bold and adventure-packed Navigator of the Seas set sail from Los Angeles today, beginning its highly anticipated year-round season of 3-night weekend to 4- and 5-night weekday cruises to Catalina Island, California, and the Mexican Riviera.

Now cruising from the City of Angels, Navigator premieres the ultimate getaway that combines adventures ashore, in destinations like Ensenada and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and on board – from the longest waterslide at sea to the industry’s first standalone blow-dry bar.

Guests who cruise on Navigator can enjoy a $115 million series of enhancements introduced on board the ship in 2019. There’s a star-studded lineup of never-before-seen experiences and fan favorites, including:

  • Resort-style pool – Kids and adults alike enjoy Caribbean vibes from day to night, thanks to vibrant colors, a variety of seating – from in-pool loungers to casitas – live music, and the three-level poolside bar known as The Lime & Coconut.
  • The Blaster – The longest aqua coaster at sea propels thrill seekers through more than 800 feet of dips, drops and turns.
  • Riptide – The industry’s only headfirst mat racer waterslide joins The Blaster and Navigator’s lineup of top-deck thrills. A highlight, the exhilarating finish through a translucent tube that goes off the side of the ship makes for inspiring ocean views.
  • To Dry For – The first standalone blow-dry bar at sea. For a quick fix to seamlessly transition from a day out to getting ready for a night out on the town, there is a menu of services that includes blowouts to hairstyling.
  • The Bamboo Room – Royal Caribbean’s take on the tiki-chic bar and lounge serves up spice-infused handcrafted drinks and shareable bites.
  • Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade – Families can enjoy gameday classics, 50 big-screen TVs, tabletop games, classic arcade hits alongside bar bites, ice-cold beer and zero-proof cocktails for the kids.
  • Adventure Ocean and teens spaces – Kids 11 and under have a redesigned venue that sports an open format made for free play and where young travelers can easily switch between types of activity. Teens have an enhanced dedicated space with games, movies, music and more in The Living Room and a private outdoor patio called The Back Deck.
  • Royal Escape Room: The Observatorium – A challenge for teams of families, friends or fellow travelers to solve mind-bending puzzles before time runs out

Also new to Navigator as part of its major makeover are Hooked Seafood, serving up fresh New England-inspired dishes like just-shucked oysters, Johnny Rockets Express, Starbucks and Jamie’s Italian, with a menu of rustic Italian recipes – including fresh pastas – from celebrity chef Jamie Oliver. Many returning favorites take the stage as well, including the FlowRider surf simulator, rock climbing wall, the Studio B ice-skating rink, Far East flavors at Izumi and a new mini golf course.

The biggest, boldest vacation along the West Coast, Navigator features something for everyone to spend quality time together and on their own on a short getaway. And for vacationers looking to take more time off, they can choose from several 7-night sailings that visit beach-lovers paradises like Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan, Mexico.

November 23, 2021 – CES 2022 – In response to feedback from its business customers and an uptick in demand, United Airlines is expanding its schedule to make it easier for CES 2022 attendees to join the in-person show in Las Vegas. The airline is adding 14 new direct flights in early January between Las Vegas and San Jose, Calif., Boston, Fort Lauderdale, and Orlando, and is also adding 30 flights from its hub airports in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York/Newark, and Washington D.C./Dulles. This represents a capacity increase of 37% compared to its usual January schedule to Las Vegas.

CES 2022

“The return of in-person conferences and events is a very positive sign in the pandemic recovery, and United is uniquely positioned to capitalize on this increase in demand,” said Ankit Gupta, senior vice president of Domestic Planning and United Express. “We’re adding about 80% of the capacity we did for CES in 2020, demonstrating that business travel is on the rebound and our customers are eager to reunite with clients and colleagues.”

Between Oct. 27 and Nov. 9, searches on United.com for flights to Las Vegas during CES 2022 were up 70% compared to the prior two-week period. And according to a recent survey of United’s business customers, nearly 20% say they expect travel to meetings and conferences will exceed pre-pandemic levels in 2022.

United will fly 81 flights into Las Vegas during the peak arrival days of January 3-4, and 109 flights on the peak departure days of January 8-10. New flights include:

  • 8 direct flights from San Jose, Calif.
  • 6 direct flights from Fort Lauderdale, Boston and Orlando
  • 15 additional flights from San Francisco, and 9 flights on a larger aircraft
  • 8 additional flights from Los Angeles, and 4 flights on a larger aircraft
  • 5 additional flights from Washington D.C./Dulles
  • 2 additional flights from New York/Newark

Tickets for all of these flights are available for sale now at United.com.

Committed to Ensuring a Safe Journey

United is committed to putting health and safety at the forefront of every customer’s journey, with the goal of delivering an industry-leading standard of cleanliness through its United CleanPlus℠ program. United has teamed up with Clorox and Cleveland Clinic to redefine cleaning and health safety procedures from check-in to landing and has implemented more than a dozen new policies, protocols and innovations designed with the safety of customers and employees in mind. Customers can review COVID-19 entry requirements, find local testing options and upload any required testing and vaccination records for domestic and international travel, all in United’s Travel Ready Center. United was the first airline to integrate all these features into its mobile app and website.

United Next

United is more focused than ever on its commitment to customers and employees. In addition to today’s announcement, United has recently:

  • Launched an ambitious plan to transform the United customer experience by adding and upgrading hundreds of aircraft as well as investing in features like larger overhead bins, seatback entertainment in every seat and the industry’s fastest available Wi-Fi.
  • Announced a goal to create 25,000 unionized jobs by 2026 that includes careers as pilots, flight attendants, agents, technicians, and dispatchers.
  • Announced that United will train at least 5,000 pilots by 2030 through the United Aviate Academy, with the plan of at least half being women and people of color.
  • Required all U.S. employees to receive a COVID-19 vaccination.
  • Became the first airline to offer customers the ability to check their destination’s travel requirements, schedule COVID-19 tests and more on its mobile app and website.
  • Invested in emerging technologies that are designed to decarbonize air travel, like an agreement to work with urban air mobility company Archer, an investment in aircraft startup Heart Aerospace and a purchase agreement with Boom Supersonic.

Maya Bay Thailand eyeing 1 January 2022 reopening

airline news

blank

blank

blank

blank

November 22, 2021 – Maya Bay Thailand in Krabi’s Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park is expected to reopen to tourists on 1 January, 2022, having been off limits to the public for three and a half years to allow for environmental rejuvenation.

The bay on the uninhabited island of Phi Phi Leh has been closed since June 2018, when it was determined the area’s coral and other marine life needed time to recover from the damage being caused by the thousands of daily tourists who were visiting the location.

Maya Bay Thailand

The bay shot to international fame after it featured in the 1999 Leonardo di Caprio movie, The Beach. At its peak in 2017, tourist traffic to the location was recorded at almost 5,000 people a day.

Environmental authorities said the famous tourist spot would only reopen to visitors after an upgrade to facilities was carried out and an adequate system was put in place to manage visiting tourist numbers.

On 14 November, 2021, a high-level delegation of executives from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment led by H.E. Mr. Warawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, and Mr. Jatuporn Burusphat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, was given an update on the infrastructure improvements being made at Phi Phi Leh for the reopening of Maya Bay.

This includes a new jetty at Loh Samah Bay on the opposite side of the island, which boats taking tourists to see Maya Bay will now have to use. Experts had advised that if the recovery of coral reefs in the area was to continue, the only access to Maya Bay must be via this new jetty.

Also, daily visitor numbers to Maya Bay will be controlled to protect the local environment and marine ecosystem, and a specific area will be designated for swimming. Terrestrial and marine ecosystem recovery has been seen at Maya Bay thanks to its closure since mid-2018. To aid the rejuvenation, officials planted a new coral reef area and more trees on the beach to help prevent shore erosion.

Eurowings Unveils Exciting 2025 Summer Flights

Eurowings flights to Scandinavia – 4 new destinations in Northern Europe starting in festive December

airline news

blank

blank

blank

blank

November 22, 2021 – Eurowings flights to Scandinavia – Sweden, Norway and Finland. Just in time for the Christmas season, Eurowings has added four very special winter destinations in Sweden, Finland, and Norway to its flight schedule: beginning in early December, the airline will be flying to four new destinations in Northern Europe from Düsseldorf and Stuttgart. In the regions around Tromsø (Norway), Luleå and Kiruna (both in Sweden) and Rovaniemi (Finland), which is known as the home region of Santa Claus, fascinating landscapes, and nature experiences such as the polar night, the northern lights or extravagant leisure experiences such as dog sledding or icebreaker trips await travelers from Germany.

Eurowings flights to Scandinavia

From Düsseldorf to Tromsø in Norway

From Düsseldorf, Eurowings’ largest base, Eurowings will take off for Tromsø in Norway for the first time on 4 December. The city lies 344 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle, at the latitude of northern Alaska. As a travel destination, the region is particularly attractive because of the northern lights. The Düsseldorf-Tromsø route will be offered every Saturday at prices from 47.99 euros, and also on Tuesdays as of 21 December. An Airbus A319 will be used on the route.

From Düsseldorf to Rovaniemi in Lapland

Also from Düsseldorf, Eurowings will be flying to Rovaniemi in Finland on Sundays beginning on 5 December. The city is near the Arctic Circle, a little further south than Tromsø. In addition to these regular flights, the airline will be flying its passengers from the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia to Rovaniemi on 23 and 30 December 2021 as well as on 4 and 6 January 2022. Rovaniemi is the capital of Lapland and is primarily known to tourists from Germany for its northern lights’ tours. However, in addition to the cozy Santa Claus village about eight kilometers north of central Rovaniemi, visitors to the city can also explore the science center and the impressive Arktikum museum, with spectacular architecture and exhibitions on the history of the far North and life in the region. Flights from Düsseldorf to Rovaniemi start at 59.99 euros for a one-way ticket.

From Stuttgart to Kiruna and Luleå in Sweden

The Swedish cities of Kiruna and Luleå are newly accessible from Southern Germany in the 2021/22 winter flight schedule: Eurowings will fly to both destinations from Stuttgart. Flights to Luleå will start on 19 December 2021. Luleå is located in the north of Sweden and captivates with its mystical polar lights and crystal-clear icy landscapes. The area offers attractive leisure experiences such as snowmobile safaris, aurora tours or trips with the icebreaker. Eurowings will be flying the Stuttgart-Luleå route on Wednesdays and Sundays with an Airbus A319 starting in mid-December, with prices starting at 47.99 euros for a one-way ticket.

Kiruna, the northernmost city in Sweden, is the second new destination from Stuttgart. The polar night here lasts from 12 to 31 December. Visitors to the region can look forward to activities such as skiing, dog-sledding and snowshoeing. The ice hotel in Jukkasjärvi is also a visitor magnet: it is rebuilt every year starting in October and opens in December. Eurowings will be flying to northern Sweden every Saturday from 18 December 2021, with prices starting at 47.99 euros for a one-way ticket.

All the new routes can be booked at eurowings.com and conveniently in the Eurowings app. Eurowings passengers travel with maximum flexibility and safety: throughout Europe, the airline has introduced exemplary security concepts at airports and on board. More information can be found here: https://www.eurowings.com/en/information/news-help/corona-information-hub.html

The airlines of the Lufthansa Group (Eurowings, Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines) are offering around 80,000 additional seats on 440 supplemental flights for the upcoming holiday season over Christmas and New Year’s. By resuming flights to destinations and increasing the frequency of existing connections or deploying larger aircraft, the airlines are responding to the demand for flights during the winter holidays that has been rising for weeks.

Alaska Airlines flies to Belize – 1st flight to Belize City from SEA and LAX

airline news

November 22, 2021 – Alaska airlines flies to Belize as of now.  If you’re looking for a new international destination to escape to – with an unbeatable mix of beaches, adventures and heritage that’s not too far away from the West Coast – it’s time to consider sun-splashed Belize. To make that trip planning easier, Alaska Airlines began nonstop service today to Belize City from Seattle and Los Angeles.

Alaska airlines flies to Belize

From Belize’s capital city, the sky’s the limit for exploration and fun. Given the strong demand for flights to Belize and building on our prior announcement of seasonal service in the winter, Alaska now intends to fly the Los Angeles-Belize City route year-round.

“For nearly two decades the Belizean market has been on our radar. We’re thrilled to now be inaugurating service from both Seattle and Los Angeles,” said Brett Catlin, vice president of network and alliances at Alaska Airlines. “Belize offers terrific family-friendly, eco-conscious possibilities – from iconic islands to lush jungles and ancient sites. And it’s closer than you might think: From L.A., it’s only a five-hour flight, and from Seattle it’s six hours.”

“In addition to attracting greater business investment and human capital, this new flight will also spur tourism which is essential for Belize’s prosperity. It comes at a very opportune time as it further boosts the industry’s recovery efforts,” noted Hon. Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism & Diaspora Relations. “We therefore value our partnership with Alaska Airlines in providing such a vital connectivity for travelers from the West Coast interested in reinvigorating themselves and relaxing in our tropical jewel while immersing in a rich, unique cultural experience.”
