Silversea Cruises unveils 2024-2025 voyage collection

August 04, 2022 –

Silversea Cruises has unveiled its new 2024-2025 voyage collection, comprising 341 new sailings that will unlock 695 destinations in 120 countries between March 2024 and May 2025 – bringing the total number of destinations in Silversea’s portfolio to over 900. The expansive offering is the largest in the cruise line’s history, with more options for guests thanks to a 56% increase in capacity by 2024 when compared to 2020. Eleven of Silversea’s ultra-luxury ships will embark upon the new sailings, with additional voyages aboard Silver Endeavour℠to be announced soon. The 2024/2025 voyage collection includes the inaugural season of Silver Ray, which will strengthen Silversea’s commitment to sustainability when she debuts in summer 2024 as the cruise line’s second Nova-class ship. Encompassing all corners of the world, the 2024-2025 itinerary collection includes an unprecedented variety of tailor-made experiences, immersive itineraries, and 25 maiden calls to inspire travellers’ wanderlust.

Silversea Cruises

Unveiling the new voyage collection, Silversea held an exclusive virtual premiere for selected guests and travel advisors on July 28, which incorporated a high-end fashion show. The cruise line challenged six celebrated designers to express the world’s beauty through fashion, with each taking inspiration from the cultures, colours, and tastes of one region represented in the collection. Entitled ‘Colour the World,’ the innovative production was hosted by Fernando Barroso de Oliveira, Silversea’s President’s Ambassador to the Venetian Society, who presided over a catwalk-inspired journey through select destinations of the new collection. The event also featured a Q&A session with Roberto Martinoli, President and CEO, Barbara Muckermann, Chief Commercial Officer, and Conrad Combrink, SVP Expeditions, Destination and Itinerary Management, who shared their insight with curious guests and travel advisors.

“Our new voyage collection for summer 2024 and winter 2024/2025 reflects our guests’ desire for new and unique experiences in the most iconic and remote destinations around the world,” said Roberto Martinoli, President and CEO, Silversea Cruises. “Our new collection features 11 ships in our fleet – including Silver Ray,the second ship in our Nova class – with an increase in capacity of 56% by 2024 when compared to 2020; this will enable our guests to enjoy unprecedented choice in terms of ships and voyage options. Not only will these 341 new sailings immerse travellers deep into each destination, enabling even the most experienced travellers to discover lesser-visited destinations or venture off-season to rediscover the world from a new perspective, but they will also further expand Silversea’s global reach. We also look forward to revealing new itineraries for Silver Endeavour, the most luxurious ship in expedition cruising, which will further diversify our industry-leading polar offering.”

“In an industry first, we decided to reveal our new 2024/2025 itinerary collection with an exclusive fashion show,” said Barbara Muckermann, Chief Commercial Officer, Silversea Cruises. “Not unlike haute couture, in which designers create exceptional collections that excite and inspire, we chose to colour the world this year, unveiling our new itineraries by pairing featured regions with the unique interpretations of six celebrated designers to showcase the world’s rich cultures, colours, and tastes. There are parallels between travel and fashion: both encourage a deep respect for diversity, an appreciation for different cultures, and an element of self-enrichment. I am proud of the powerful message that we have conveyed, and I hope our guests find inspiration for the experiences that await.”

“Silversea has increased its industry-leading range of experiences with the launch of its largest itinerary collection to date for 2024/2025,” said Conrad Combrink, SVP Expeditions, Destination and Itinerary Management, Silversea Cruises. “With 341 itineraries unlocking both Polar Regions, the South Pacific, Africa and the Indian Ocean, the Galapagos, and so much more, Silversea has once again demonstrated its destination leadership, immersing curious travellers into the world in a way that only we can.”

The new 2024/2025 voyage collection includes the following highlights:

Radisson Vietnam

Radisson Vietnam to quadruple portfolio in 2025

August 3, 2022 –

Radisson Hotel Group is set to realize a four-fold growth of its footprint in Vietnam by opening a dedicated representative office and significantly boosting its portfolio of properties in the country by 2025.

Radisson Vietnam

This widespread expansion plan will see the Group create inspiring options for every visitor to Vietnam, helping business and leisure travelers reach vibrant towns and cities, beautiful beachfront resorts and other scenic destinations all across the country. Furthermore, the Group’s revitalized brand architecture, which now encompasses nine distinct brands ranging from midscale to luxury, will allow Radisson Hotel Group’s partners to cater to the specific requirements of various guest segments.

Through this clear brand segmentation, Radisson Hotel Group is now ready to meet the evolving needs of today’s travelers. In the post-pandemic era, Forbes* has identified three key travel trends for 2022, including a desire for authentic local experiences, sustainable travel, and a renewed focus on family stays. In Vietnam, these factors are also being influenced by the emergence of new, unexplored destinations that create outstanding opportunities for curious travelers and forward-thinking developers.

Radisson Hotel Group’s portfolio of brands will leverage these travel trends. For example, Radisson Collection, the unique collection of iconic properties, and Radisson Individuals, the new affiliation brand that celebrates individuality, both showcase the unique characteristics of their destinations, while Radisson Blu, the memorable, stylish and purposeful upper-upscale brand, and Radisson, the flagship upscale brand promises genuine hospitality and relaxing spaces that are perfect for business and leisure travelers including families. Radisson RED has the potential to drive rapid expansion in the market, appealing to the millennial minded by delivering a playful twist on conventional hotel stays with stylish spaces and standout design.

Each of these brands offer an excellent, intuitive option for Vietnam’s diverse destinations, including its established and emerging locations. As a responsible business, the Group is committed to its corporate responsibility targets of being net-zero by 2050 and is driving eco-sensitive operations and creating sustainable experiences to help owners achieve greater efficiencies.

With a defined brand architecture with clear segmentation and a robust global network, Radisson Hotel Group can customize its development strategy and partnerships to suit the unique needs of its owners and investors, while also creating outstanding options for its guests.

This commitment to supporting the future of travel and hospitality in Vietnam is being reinforced by the launch of a Business Unit and representative office in Ho Chi Minh City. This dedicated office will offer expert on-the-ground support to owners in Vietnam, developing long-standing relationships based on trust, responsibility, and accountability.

Currently, Radisson Hotel Group operates four properties in Vietnam – Radisson Blu Resort Cam Ranh, Radisson Blu Resort Phu Quoc, Radisson Resort Phan Thiet and Radisson Hotel Danang – with six more in the pipeline. The ambitious plan to add 20 properties by 2025 is part of the Group’s strategy to tap into Vietnam’s rapidly rebounding tourism industry to craft exciting new experiences for guests.

Ramzy Fenianos, Chief Development Officer, Asia Pacific, Radisson Hotel Group, commented on the plans in Vietnam: “Vietnam is a dynamic destination that has offerings for all types of travelers. Over the past few months, the country has shown signs of continued recovery, particularly in the tourism sector, as it reopens its borders to visitors from around the world. Looking ahead, we expect visitor numbers to increase significantly in the coming months and we look forward to working with our partners to bring new experiences to life for travelers from around the region and globally.”

David Nguyen, Managing Director, Indochina and Strategic Partnerships, SE Asia & Pacific, added: “Radisson Hotel Group’s commitment to Vietnam is part of the Group’s strategic growth plans for APAC, and my team and I look forward to working with partners in Vietnam to further expand our portfolio to be ready for, and help to fuel the tourism rebound.”

Park Hyatt Milan reopens after a €20 Million Makeover

Park Hyatt Milan

Park Hyatt Milan

August 3, 2022 – Park Hyatt Milan Reopens its Doors After a €20 Million Makeove.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) announced that the iconic five-star luxury establishment Park Hyatt Milano opens its doors today after two years of extensively reimagining its spaces, while staying true to the property’s unmatched, historic character. A stone’s throw from the Duomo and with direct access to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the former bank, formidable palazzo and historical hotel offers a brand-new, luxury experience to its international and local guests, in perfect harmony with the city’s cultural context.

Park Hyatt Milan

Strategically positioned in the heart of Milano, the exclusive hotel and its recent enhancements provide the perfect backdrop to discover authentic Italian luxury. The 106 guestrooms and 25 suites, as well as the common spaces, have been preserved to reflect the property’s historical identity.

Elements of contemporary design combined with classic interiors in a delicate and neutral palette evoke a feeling of understated Milanese elegance, delivering guests a refined, home-away-from-home. Sustainability aspects came into play during the restoration of the building’s foundations – while equipping the house with new water pipes and modern air conditioning units as well as focusing on FSC® certified materials for many of the refurbishments.

“The reinvented atmosphere of the new Park Hyatt Milano combines well-beloved and unexpected touches to a deeply personal, luxury offering,” said Monique Dekker, area vice president, Hyatt. “Being able to make such an investment during a critical time for the hospitality industry is reassuring and, I know our team in Milan is thrilled to host local and international guests again.”

The four Terrace Suites, the Presidential Suite and the Duomo Suite with their unbeatable panoramic terraces each overlook the city skyline. Warm-toned durmast oak parquet and original light travertine marble from Breccia Mdicea quarries reference the neutral color palette of the Duomo of Milan and are used for the custom furnishings designed by Venetian Uno Contract. In the bathrooms, elegant medici pebbles on the floors and marble vanities combined with hand-blown glass light fixtures represent a traditional interpretation of Italian luxury. Among others, artwork from Stefano Meriggi, Matteo Boato and Luca Brandi adorn the rooms.

Park Hyatt Milano’s common areas have been revisited with great attention to detail. Located next to La Cupola and illuminated by the natural light coming from the nearly 30-foot-high (nine-meter-high) glass dome, the new fine dining restaurant Pellico 3 Milano attracts both travelers and locals. With its unique culinary experience, the menu sources ingredients and taps into the culinary traditions of France, Spain, Greece and Italy to awaken all five senses while respecting each product and its unique seasonality. The bright space, designed by architect Flaviano Capriotti, features a color palette inspired by the ingredients: warm chestnut brown, urchin yellow, a cool artichoke green with orange and purple tying in pumpkin and saffron. The ceiling and floor reflect the magic of the sky and the productive capacity of the earth, setting the perfect scene for Chef Guido Paternollo’s haute cuisine.

The reopened AQVAM Spa – which features a Turkish bath, multifunctional showers, and a jacuzzi bath adorned with an intricate gold mosaic – offers a selection of treatments utilizing the 111SKIN treatment line. The urban wellness oasis and the gym, equipped with latest generation Technogym equipment, round out the property’s refreshed offering.

Emirates restarts flights from London Stansted

August 2, 2022 –

Emirates restarts flights from London Stansted (STN) as it continues to rebuild its UK and global network in response to sustained demand for international travel. This is the first commercial flight Emirates has flown from Stansted since pausing operations from the airport in March 2020 due to the pandemic.

flights from London Stansted

The world’s largest international airline has advanced plans to increase capacity from five-weekly services to a daily flight, starting from today. With the return of services to Stansted, Emirates has ramped up its operations to London with nine daily flights, including six daily flights to Heathrow and a double daily flight to Gatwick*. The added services will meet market demand and offer customers more travel choices and enhanced connectivity this summer. Stansted will be served by Emirates’ wide-body Boeing 777-300ER aircraft fitted with its renowned ‘Game Changer’ First Class product.

Emirates has resumed operations with EK065 leaving Dubai at 08:50, arriving at London Stansted at 13:30 on Monday 1st August. EK068, an evening flight will then depart Stansted at 21:10 and arrive at Dubai International (DXB) on Tuesday 2nd August at 07:10 (all times are local).

Richard Jewsbury, Emirates Divisional Vice President in the UK, commented, “We are delighted to be recommencing services to and from Stansted today and offering passengers further connectivity during the popular summer holiday period. Bookings in the UK and London have continued to surge with the further easing of travel restrictions and as appetite for international travel grows stronger. Stansted is a key hub for Emirates in the East and Southeast of the UK as we continue to scale up travel following the pandemic. We look forward to welcoming more passengers on board our premium Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in the coming months.”

Steve Griffiths, London Stansted’s Managing Director, said: “The return of daily flights from London Stansted to Dubai with Emirates is fantastic news for the airport, and demonstrates the renewed confidence of airlines and passengers as we recover from the pandemic. The service proved to be extremely popular following its launch in 2018, so Emirates timely return is a huge boost to passengers in London and the East of England, offering not only a vital link between the two destinations but right across the globe thanks to the airline’s worldwide route network available via Dubai.”

110 UK flights a week and updates to Newcastle
In addition to resuming operations from Stansted, Emirates today announces that, from 30 October, its Newcastle service will revert to pre-COVID schedule to operate as EK035/036 in the morning (instead of EK033/034), improving connectivity and offer customers better travel options.

By October 2022, the airline will be serving the UK with 110 weekly flights, including: six times daily to London Heathrow; daily service to London Stansted; double daily A380 service to Gatwick; three times daily to Manchester, including a double daily A380 service (starting 1st October 2022); double daily service to Birmingham; five weekly flights to Newcastle; and a daily service to Glasgow.

Fly better to 130 destinations with Emirates

Emirates’ extensive network spans to 130 destinations, across six continents. The airline continues to place top priority on safe travel with the implementation of comprehensive set of measures on the ground throughout all touchpoints and on board to provide its passengers with the highest safety and hygiene standards at every step of the journey. Customers travelling from Dubai can also take advantage of state-of-the-art contactless technology to ease their journey through the airport.

Emirates also offers its customers an unmatched culinary experience in the skies with regionally inspired multi-course menus developed by a team of award-winning chefs complemented by a wide selection of premium beverages. Air Serbia Resumes Direct Belgrade-Nice Flights in 2024

Air Serbia to launch 12 new routes

Air Serbia to launch 12 new routes

Air Serbia to launch 12 new routes

August 1, 2022 – Air Serbia is preparing to expand its route network with around twelve new routes, some of which will be launched as early as this winter season, although the majority will be added next summer.

The carrier’s CEO, Jiri Marek, told “Aviation Week”, “We are currently planning around a dozen of new destinations for next year, as well as more frequencies in the region to guarantee connectivity to Chicago, New York and China. And some of the new destinations, even exotic ones, might come already in the winter season”.

Air Serbia to launch 12 new routes

Mr Marek noted that Air Serbia does not need additional destinations in Europe, but more frequencies, indicating that many of the upcoming new routes will be outside of the continent.

Air Serbia is planning a greater presence in the Middle East and North Africa, in addition to its planned new services to China and the United States. The Serbian carrier has been absent from the Middle East since March 2020, having discontinued flights to Beirut, and suspending operations to Cairo and Tel Aviv, as well as shelving plans to serve Amman in Jordan this summer.

However, the airline did operate regular charter services between the Serbian capital and Dubai during the Expo 2020 event from October 2021 until this March. According to OAG data, the busiest unserved destinations in the Middle East from Belgrade include Kuwait City, Tehran, Muscat, Baghdad, Amman and Bahrain.

Air Serbia to launch 12 new routes: Air Serbia has said it will grow its fleet with the addition of an Airbus A320 aircraft. Furthermore, due to high seasonality, the airline is looking to either make a capacity provider agreement on a long-term basis or attempt to enter into a Joint Venture agreement with reverse-seasonality operators in order to have wet-leased equipment available over the peak summer months. In addition, the company will add a further two ATR72-600s to its fleet by the end of the year and is believed to be considering more turboprops next year.

Air Serbia to launch 12 new routes: Air Serbia recently announced it would be hiring new cabin crew members for the “announced expansion of intercontinental, Euro-Mediterranean and regional destinations”.

Ritz Carlton debuts an oasis of modern luxury in Manhattan

July 29, 2022 –

The Ritz  Carlton has announced the opening of The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad, debuting a new oasis of modern luxury in the heart of Manhattan. Soaring 50 stories above the dynamic North of Madison Square Park neighborhood, the newly constructed hotel and residences developed by New York-based Flag Luxury Group brings the brand’s unparalleled service and refined elegance to one of the city’s most vibrant and emerging districts.

Ritz Carlton Manhattan

“The Ritz Carlton New York, NoMad represents a milestone moment in the evolution of The Ritz-Carlton brand,” said Donna McNamara, Vice President and Global Brand Leader for The Ritz-Carlton. “With an exquisite design that blends the best of the brand and the destination, combined with the finest amenities, culinary offerings, and highly personalized service, The Ritz Carlton New York, NoMad delivers an experience tailored to today’s luxury guest. I know that travelers and locals alike will enjoy settling into Nubeluz, our rooftop bar, for spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline.”

Rising 500 feet above New York’s streets, the hotel takes its place within the city skyline as one of the tallest buildings in NoMad, the birthplace of American popular music at Tin Pan Alley and today a nexus of art, entertainment, fashion, and technology. World-renowned design teams, including Rafael Viñoly Architects, Rockwell Group, Lazaro Rosa-Violan Studio, Martin Brudnizki, and SUSSURUS International, deliver a bold, contemporary design that pays homage to the hotel’s location in the city’s vibrant Flower District. An impressive art collection by art curator, Culture Corps and Founding Partner Yvonne Force Villareal includes local artists Pat Steir, Ross Bleckner, and Donald Baechler. Seasonal floral installations throughout the hotel create a unique welcome experience for guests visiting the blossoming neighborhood.

“For our fifth hotel under The Ritz Carlton brand, we were inspired by the brand’s rich history and legacy of unwavering commitment to excellence. We married the genuine refined service that The Ritz Carlton is known for with the kitchen of humanitarian and Michelin-starred Chef José Andrés for the next generation of a hotel luxury experience,” said Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos, President of Flag Luxury Group.

The hotel’s 250 guestrooms include 19 suites, with an additional 16 one- and two-bedroom penthouse residences. The guestrooms and public spaces all showcase elegant floral expressions such as natural elements and textures, that reflect the soft curvature of petals alongside sleek accents and lines, which echo New York City’s verticality and city grid. Inspired by residential-style living, guestrooms feature bespoke furnishings and a neutral color palette that allow the expansive, light-filled living spaces and stunning city views to take center stage. The 2,100-square-foot Ritz-Carlton Suite, located on the hotel’s 37th floor, features breathtaking views of Manhattan, a private wellness room complete with a Peloton® bike, separate living and dining areas, media room and 194-square-foot walk-in closet, and service entrance. All guestrooms include bathroom amenities by Diptyque, featuring the scent Philosykos – an ode to the fig tree.

The hotel’s food and beverage partnership is truly unique, with all culinary venues and in-room dining helmed by Michelin-starred chef and global citizen José Andrés. Situated on the ground floor of the hotel, Zaytinya, a play on the Turkish word for olive oil, offers an innovative mezze menu and creative cocktails inspired by Turkish, Greek, and Lebanese cuisines. Designed by Rockwell Group, the 140-seat restaurant is saturated with a palette of bronze metals and white oak wood, with distinctive pops of blue and soft curves to channel the natural beauty of the Mediterranean.

An exciting addition to New York’s nightlife scene, Nubeluz is located on the hotel’s rooftop. It offers sweeping 270 degree views across Manhattan, complemented by an expansive menu of classic and signature cocktails, light bites, and an array of Tablas, where guests can build boards of jamon, queso, and embutidos hailing from Andrés’ native Spain. Designed by Martin Brudnizki, the space acts as a glittering jewel box, with interiors that are a modern age reinterpretation of New York’s glamorous past, including a combination of reflective surfaces, indulgent textiles, and modern materiality.

Located on the first floor of The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad, The Lobby Lounge and Bar is an oasis where guests can enjoy a morning pastry and coffee, an afternoon glass of champagne, or nightcap in the evening.

The Bazaar by José Andrés will make its New York debut in late 2022. This high-end avant-garde dining destination is a wild sensory adventure born of Andrés’ Spanish roots where sophisticated cuisine, artful service, and playful theatrics come together. Each location has its own vision and promises both an inspiring both its culinary experience and dynamic aesthetic. The Bazaar, designed by Barcelona-based studio Lázaro Rosa-Viola, uses painted and natural wood, texturized glass, ceramic tiling, and drapery to create an atmosphere that is warm and distinct.

Jet Airways to restart commercial operations from September

Jet Airways

Jet Airways to restart commercial operations from September

July 28, 2022 –

Jet Airways will start the process of hiring pilots for Airbus’ A320 aircraft, Boeing’s 737NG and 737Max planes as the airline is planning to resume its commercial operations in September. This comes after Jet Airways’ commercial operations were suspended on April 17, 2019, due to financial distress.

Jet Airways

“Good things come to those that wait – Jet Airways will be flying again soon! Inviting pilots who are current and type-rated on the Airbus A320 or Boeing 737NG or MAX aircraft, to apply to join us in creating history as we prepare to relaunch India’s classiest airline,” the airline wrote on its Twitter platform.

Notably, the ailing airline started the process for hiring pilots for Airbus’ A320 aircraft as well as Boeing’s 737NG and 737Max planes. The airline, which reportedly received air operator certificate from aviation regulator DGCA on May 20, is yet to place an order for aircraft with either European plane-maker Airbus or American aerospace company Boeing, according to news agency PTI report.

It is important to note that as of now, the ailing airline has just one operational aircraft, which is a B737NG, in its fleet. The airline has announced that it intends to recommence commercial operations in the current quarter ending September, the report said. Financial distress forced Jet Airways, which flew for more than two decades, to suspend operations on April 17, 2019 and a consortium of lenders, led by the State Bank of India (SBI), filed an insolvency petition in June 2019 to recover outstanding dues worth over ₹8,000 crore, the report further highlighted.
