‘Home’ cooking a key ingredient at Martha Stewart’s first restaurant

For her first restaurant, set to open at Paris Las Vegas this spring, lifestyle maven Martha Stewart will evoke her own country farmhouse.

The Bedford by Martha Stewart, with 194 seats, will be designed with the aesthetic of the brand she has cultivated for decades in broadcasting, publishing and merchandising.

Seasonal, farm-to-table ingredients will be emphasized on dinner, weekend brunch and holiday menus. Purveyors will include Las Vegas Farmers Market, D’Artagnan Foods, Urbani Truffles, Roe Caviar, Frog Hollow Farm, Jasper Hill Farm and Vermont Creamery.

“Our menu will be delicious, depicting the very same kinds of foods I serve my friends and family,” Stewart said. “The architecture and decoration of the spaces cleverly exemplify the beauty and atmosphere you might find at my beautiful farm in Bedford, N.Y. Dining at the Bedford will be immersive, fun, unexpected and utterly delectable.”

Stewart’s well-known functional and practical lifestyle will be found in the decor with a bring-nature-indoors concept. A neutral palette will act as a backdrop to seasonal colors.

“Martha Stewart is one of the most celebrated voices in hospitality, and we are truly honored that she’s chosen Paris Las Vegas as the home for her very first restaurant,” said Jason Gregorec, senior vice president and general manager of Paris Las Vegas. “When we open the doors, the Bedford by Martha Stewart will be a dining experience you simply can’t get elsewhere.”

Paris Las Vegas is also the home of Chef Joho’s Eiffel Tower Restaurant, French-bistro Mon Ami Gabi and Gordon Ramsay Steak. It includes quick-service options such as Brioche by Guy Savoy and, soon, Bobby’s Burgers by Bobby Flay. Lisa Vanderpump’s second Las Vegas venue, Vanderpump a Paris, and a new Nobu restaurant and lounge are also planned.

Ollantaytambo one of the best tourism villages by the WTO 2021

Ollantaytambo

December 13, 2021 – Ollantaytambo, one of the best tourism villages.

Cusco has countless places to visit. Once you are in this region, you will be out of time to discover all the charms and attractions it has for adventurous tourists, travelers who love history and culture, and apart from globetrotters who want to disconnect from the city and find peace in the nature.

Ollantaytambo

It is so amazing to tourism in Cusco that different locations receive nominations and awards by different world entities linked to traveling. The last on receiving a commemoration was Ollantaytambo, which was elected among the best tourist villages by the World Tourism Organization (WTO).

During the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization held in Madrid (Spain), it was announced – with the corresponding honors – the villages that stand out for being outstanding models of how being sources of opportunities and engines for the sustainable development from tourism. In total, 170 cities of 75 different countries applied for the title, and the Cusco village of Ollantaytambo was one of the 44 cities selected to be part of this prestigious list.

The criteria for the election of the best tourist villages were the number of cultural and natural resources, the promotion and conservation of cultural resources, the economic, social, and environmental sustainability, the tourist potential and development and integration of the value chain, the governance and prioritization of tourism, the infrastructure, the connectivity, and the health and safety.

Visit Ollantaytambo

This fortress or ceremonial center is considered a treasure for the architecture and engineering. In the past, it worked as a military center due to its strategic placement, apart from being a religious and agricultural location by spotlighting its rocks platforms built at more than 4-meters height.

The village is located in the province of Urubamba, at 80 kilometers of the city of Cusco (you can arrive there in one hour, approximately, by taxi or train) and is constantly visited by tourists who are on their way to the Historical Sanctuary of Machupicchu. In Ollantaytambo, you will also find remains of the village that, despite the time, still preserves houses, streets, and transit channels from the Tahuantinsuyo era.

Ollantaytambo is open to the public from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. You can do the journey in group with a tourist guide that lasts around two hours. Do not forget to visit the interior of the Temple of the Sun or the Ñusta Font. These attractions are breathtaking.

Interesting fact

From the 44 cities selected as the best tourism villages, only 6 are from South America. In such way, Ollantaytambo is also listed as the best tourism village of the continent.

Soul of Bali tour

The sea-side temple of Tanah Lot has been defying the pounding waves for centuries. It sits on a rocky outcrop right in the surf of the Indian ocean, where it crashes into Bali’s western shore. The landmark temple was built to commemorate the spread of Hinduism from Java to Bali many centuries ago.

More about Soul of Bali tour

The temple, consisting of several shrines, protected by poisonous black snakes, is modest but as the tide rushes in and the islet becomes completely surrounded by water, the place becomes a mysterious spot. The views from the cliff that rises from the nearby beach, are truly awesome.

Then we continue to Jatiluwih where you will marvel at the terraces of a startlingly beautiful area of terraced rice paddies nestled in the shadow of Mount Batukaru, the second highest peak of Bali. The rice fields here date back a thousand years and have been painstakingly maintained by the Balinese over the centuries.

Back in 2007 this area became a UNESCO
world heritage site, because of its relevance to Balinese culture. Rice cultivation and societal organization are intertwined Bali. What the visitor will remember are stunning views over green-glowing fields that seem to stretch as far as the eye can see.

Before hitting the road back to the south, you’ll do a gentle trekking. Walk downhill along the most beautiful rice fields anywhere in the world. It is a great way to take in the magnificent sloping terraces surrounding you from all sides.

At the end point of your track, a lonely temple safeguards a unique Linga Yoni, the distinctive symbol of the God Shiva, resting on a disc shaped platform. It sits in the innermost sanctum of a lonely temple, on a shrine that cannot be approached by just anyone. Even those who do so, do not dare to touch this magic object of worship. We have selected a variety of local sweets and fruits to be enjoyed on the field in front of the temple. After this break, we head back to the south.

Wine tasting in Chile

Rosario Valley is a subdivision of San Antonio Valley. San Antonio is a new discovery of Chile´s wine regions with exciting potential. San Antonio, which includes the now-famous Leyda zone, is one of the one of Chile’s smallest viticultural areas. With vineyards as close as 4 km (2.5 mi) from the sea, it is also the most maritime region. For wine tourists, this wine region is yet to be developed. There isn´t a wine route but there are some interesting offers for those with an eye for the extraordinary.

The San Antonio Valley might just be a speck of a region between the Pacific Coast and the Maipo Valley, but it produces some of Chile’s best Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Since 2002, this region is one of several recognized wine-producing areas with the official seal D.O. (Denominación de Origen).

You can live a unique experience through its Winemaker Experience Tour, an entertaining panorama in which participants can become winemakers for a day, using the same implements found in oenology laboratories, to create their own own wines.

On this excursion we will have the unique experience of discovering the essence of the Chilean countryside. We will visit the renowned Matetic Vineyard in the Rosario Valley, a subdivision of the San Antonio Valley. This completely enclosed valley, which is 9,000 hectares in length and perpendicular to the ocean, features extraordinary light and possesses the ideal climatic and topographic conditions for both red and white wines. The first 90 planted hectares are in all-organic soils. While visiting the estate we will have the exclusive opportunity to bike, trek or horseback through this vineyard surrounded by native trees, grapevines and local fauna. After the excursion and fresh air, we will then tour the Corralillo wine cellar full of splendor and aged barrels where we will enjoy a wine tasting with Chocolate shots, a choise of two of small chocolate cups filled either Syrah, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir or Gewurztraminer of the Corralillo or EQ line. The exciting day will be concluded with a spectacular lunch at the estates Equilibrio’s restaurant.

November 24 2021 – Egypt temple – A Lost 4,500-Year-Old Sun Temple In Egypt

New Archeological Discoveries

The biggest archaeological discovery of the past five decades was uncovered south of Cairo, a 4500-year-old temple, that is believed to be one of Egypt’s six lost “Temples of The Sun”.

Egypt Temple of the Sun

Egyptian Pharaohs are thought to have built six sun temples. While pyramids were built to preserve a pharaoh’s standing as a heavenly entity in the afterlife, sun temples acted as their shrine and were much smaller in scale.

This Sun Temple is an extremely rare find, being the third ever discovered and the first unearthed in the last five decades. The recent temple is considered to have been erected between 2400 and 2370 BCE, dedicated to Sun God ‘Ra.

Maya Bay Thailand eyeing 1 January 2022 reopening

November 22, 2021 – Maya Bay Thailand in Krabi’s Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park is expected to reopen to tourists on 1 January, 2022, having been off limits to the public for three and a half years to allow for environmental rejuvenation.

The bay on the uninhabited island of Phi Phi Leh has been closed since June 2018, when it was determined the area’s coral and other marine life needed time to recover from the damage being caused by the thousands of daily tourists who were visiting the location.

Maya Bay Thailand

The bay shot to international fame after it featured in the 1999 Leonardo di Caprio movie, The Beach. At its peak in 2017, tourist traffic to the location was recorded at almost 5,000 people a day.

Environmental authorities said the famous tourist spot would only reopen to visitors after an upgrade to facilities was carried out and an adequate system was put in place to manage visiting tourist numbers.

On 14 November, 2021, a high-level delegation of executives from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment led by H.E. Mr. Warawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, and Mr. Jatuporn Burusphat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, was given an update on the infrastructure improvements being made at Phi Phi Leh for the reopening of Maya Bay.

This includes a new jetty at Loh Samah Bay on the opposite side of the island, which boats taking tourists to see Maya Bay will now have to use. Experts had advised that if the recovery of coral reefs in the area was to continue, the only access to Maya Bay must be via this new jetty.

Also, daily visitor numbers to Maya Bay will be controlled to protect the local environment and marine ecosystem, and a specific area will be designated for swimming. Terrestrial and marine ecosystem recovery has been seen at Maya Bay thanks to its closure since mid-2018. To aid the rejuvenation, officials planted a new coral reef area and more trees on the beach to help prevent shore erosion.

Amazing Travel Facts Argentina

Not sure if there are beautiful dunes in the country you live in, there is even one in France! But did you know that the highest sand dune in the world is 1234 meters high?

Can you imagine going sandboarding on it?

Amazing, right?

It is indeed in Argentina.

A sand dune is, more or less, a giant lump of sand. Like a mountain… but sand. That’s it. A sand tune is literally any huge mound or hill of sand. They are formed from large masses of sand blown by the wind, and are most common in deserts, but also often appear near beaches.

When sand is blown by the wind into a sheltered area, behind an obstacle, where it then becomes sheltered from that wind, the sand accumulates and forms a dune. They can make for quite a miraculous sight – and real adventure playground. Think hiking, fat biking or sandboarding.

The highest sand dune in the world is named after Federico B. Kirbus, the journalist who discovered it. As well as spanning 1230m from base to peak, it also reaches 2845m above sea level. The dune sits in front of beautiful mountain views.

The Federico Kirbus dune is a dune located near the town of Tatón , in the Bolson de Fiambalá , in the department of Tinogasta in the province of Catamarca , in the northwest of the Argentine Republic.

You have all heard of the seven wonders of the ancient world, right? But did you know that only one of them has survived? It weighs 6 million ton and was built around 2700 BC.

Amazing, right?

Do you know where we need to travel to see this ancient wonder?

And that ancient Wonder is the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt.

The original list of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World comes from a work by Philo of Byzantium written in 225 B.C. called On The Seven Wonders.
The Great Pyramid, located at Giza on the west bank of the Nile River north of Cairo in Egypt, is the only wonder of the ancient world that has survived to the present day. It is part of a group of three pyramids–Khufu (Cheops), Khafra (Chephren) and Menkaura (Mycerimus)–that were built between 2700 B.C. and 2500 B.C. as royal tombs.

The largest and most impressive is Khufu, known as “The Great Pyramid,” which covers 13 acres and is believed to contain more than 2 million stone blocks that weigh from two to 30 tons each.

For more than 4,000 years, Khufu reigned as the tallest building in the world. In fact, it took modern man until the 19th century to build a taller structure. Amazingly, the nearly symmetrical Egyptian pyramids were built without the aid of modern tools or surveying equipment.

Did you know that there is a museum in the world where it would take 11 years to view their collection? Not only that, the museum houses 50 cats that are, according to the director, as popular as Rembrandt. They have their own dedicated press officer and a dedicated kitchen. The museum also hires three full-time volunteers to look after them.

Amazing, right?

Do you know in which city this museum stands?

It is indeed the Hermitage in St Petersburg, Russia.

John is right, there have been cats in the palace since Peter the Great’s daughter, Empress Elizabeth, issued a decree, in 1745, that the biggest cats, capable of catching mice, be sent immediately from Kazan to the court of her imperial majesty. Catherine the Great is thought to have favored Russian Blues as indoor palace cats.

The cats of the Hermitage live in a large cellar of almost 20 km long. It is well-equipped for comfortable living and hunting of the animals. Nothing limits the cats, they can free walk around, but not in the exposition halls. In the summertime, they prefer staying in the museum’s yard, enjoying the sun and not being bothered by the museum staff and guests
As the director of the state museum in Saint Petersburg says, the cats are even as popular as Rembrandt. Every cat has its own passport and a vet book.

“The UAE is home to many incredible tourist attractions, and in this video we’re keen to give the world a glimpse of the buzzing racing scene, in particular as we gear up to host this year’s Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix next month,” said Amina Taher, Vice President Brand, Marketing and Sponsorships, Etihad Airways. “As travel restrictions have quickly eased, we’re also pleased to show the UAE is welcoming tourists and hopefully this video will inspire more racing fans to come and enjoy Yas Marina Circuit for the Formula 1, and the many racing related events and activities taking place throughout the year.”
