The hotel includes 204 guest rooms with artistic details showcasing a playful twist on the conventional through its design concept. The eye-catching entrances of Radisson RED properties contain huge sculptures that relate to the location. At Radisson RED Oslo Økern, this sculpture takes the form of a tiger, recognizing the city’s nickname “Tigerstaden”, or “Tiger City”, believed to be coined by Norwegian poet Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson, who used a tiger to represent Oslo in his poetry*. The statue can be found on the rooftop terrace and outside the main entrance.

On the hotel’s 12th floor, guests are treated to a stunning panoramic view of Oslo from the hotel’s restaurant, RED Rooftop bar, and outdoor terrace. At the end of the day, guests can enjoy a well-earned drink and a delicious bite to eat on the terrace and enjoy sounds from a DJ on Fridays and Saturdays. The hotel offers 13 meeting rooms, with the largest room able to accommodate 120 guests, including the perfect breakout space to inspire and spark creativity for meeting delegates.

Tom Flanagan Karttunen, Area Senior Vice President, Northern & Western Europe at Radisson Hotel Group says: “This is the perfect location for our second Radisson RED property in Norway, following the opening of Radisson RED Oslo Airport earlier this year. Radisson RED’s creative approach works in harmony with Økern Portal’s green spaces and sustainable initiatives, and offers the best city views from its rooftop bar and outdoor terrace.”

Jørgen Holte, General Manager of design hotel in Oslo Radisson RED Oslo Økern comments: “I am proud to open this exciting new hotel concept in Oslo. Metropole Hanoi’s Award Winning Le Beaulieu Reopens Following Extensive Refurbishment

Metropole Hanoi’s Award Winning Le Beaulieu Reopens Following Extensive Refurbishment

July 20, 2022 –

Hanoi, Vietnam — Le Beaulieu, the award-winning modern French fine dining restaurant at Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, and its refined al fresco extension La Terrasse have celebrated their reopening following an extensive seven-month refurbishment and are now open for lunch and dinner.

Le Beaulieu Reopens

With an elegant and sophisticated new design, alongside renowned French gastronomy and a wide selection of wines, the signature restaurant at Metropole Hanoi ties together the hotel’s 120-year-old storied past with a contemporary new look that manages to meld the opulent, the classical and the modern in a single scheme that’s long on white, gold and heathery blue-grays.

Le Beaulieu features an elegant and sophisticated new design, alongside renowned French gastronomy and a wide selection of wines
Operating in its current space since 1901, Le Beaulieu is believed to be the oldest continually operating restaurant in Vietnam. And now, after this renovation, the newest.

“Le Beaulieu has long been one of—if not the—preeminent French fine dining experiences in all of Southeast Asia, and we are delighted to welcome diners back to experience these aesthetic and culinary enhancements, which we are confident will win the approval of the most devoted French culinary enthusiasts,” said Metropole Hanoi General Manager William Haandrikman.

La Terrasse, the refined al fresco extension of Le Beaulieu inspired by Parisian sidewalk cafes, promises a brand new ambiance
The new menu at Le Beaulieu continues to spotlight modern French gastronomy with nods to classical French flavors and an emphasis on seasonality and superior ingredients. The restaurant’s inventive approach both to cuisine and service is enhanced by a chef-driven perspective. While there are some traditional French touches, the presentation is stylish, with well-balanced portions and fresh produce from France, Vietnam and elsewhere.

Metropole chefs’ trademark signature dishes and other menu items incorporate storytelling, charm, sophistication and authenticity.

Le Beaulieu’s new look melds the opulent, the classical and the modern in a single scheme
Le Beaulieu boasts one of the most extensive wine collections in Hanoi, featuring more than 600 references and 1,600 bottles, including over 100 Grand Cru Classés and wines from leading chateaux, vintners and wineries from France and around the world. Service staff at Le Beaulieu draw on their wine knowledge and experience to offer pairing recommendations. Other beverages, including cocktails, served from Le Beaulieu’s waiting bar highlight links to France, and there is an emphasis on unique and high-quality “digestifs” for dinner.

Inspired by Parisian sidewalk cafes, La Terrasse also promises a brand new ambiance. An extension of Le Beaulieu and home to refined dining on the hotel’s picturesque outdoor patio, La Terrasse offers a similar menu to that at Le Beaulieu but with additional lighter-fare options, including salades gourmandes, tartines, artisanal sandwiches, starters and more.

Le Beaulieu boasts one of the most extensive wine collections in Hanoi
In April, Metropole Hanoi was awarded a Five-Star rating—the top level of recognition—from Forbes Travel Guide for the third consecutive year. It was also proclaimed one of “Asia’s Top 30 Hotels” by readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine last year and selected as Hanoi’s No. 1 business hotel by the editors of Business Traveller Asia-Pacific. Metropole Hanoi was also named one of “The 101 Most Incredible Hotels in the World” for 2022 by Fodor’s Travel.

Hotel Indigo Flushing opens its doors

July 20, 2022 –

Hotel Indigo, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Luxury & Lifestyle Collection, has expanded its offering in New York City with the brand’s second opening this year and its fourth property overall in the city. Hotel Indigo Flushing is minutes from Flushing Main Street – an ideal location to explore the bustling international neighborhood.

Hotel Indigo Flushing

The 150-room Hotel Indigo Flushing, managed by Urgo Hotels & Resorts, tells the stories of the community’s rich past and diverse present, weaving its sights, sounds and flavors into the design and guest experience. Flushing’s reputation as a cultural melting pot began centuries ago when it became the setting of the first commercial fruit tree nursery in the U.S., grown with seeds sourced on trade routes between China, the Middle East and Europe. Today, the Taiwanese immigrants who first opened businesses decades ago are joined by international newcomers. Design firm JacksonCreative Group has combined this storytelling with organic materials and finishes in the boutique lifestyle hotel’s interiors.

Guests are welcomed by a dramatic peach blossom tree art piece and a cascading chandelier, reminiscent of rain drops, in the atrium-style lobby. Each of Hotel Indigo Flushing’s urban contemporary guestrooms feature a grey and soft yellow color palette as well as peach blossom murals, creating an airy organic look while hinting at the neighborhood’s past. King Terrace guestrooms feature private terraces and floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views of the city skyline.

The Hotel Indigo brand is known for restaurants and bars that are local gems – lively spaces that lift spirits and foster connection through food and drink. Botanica Bar & Lounge is a serene dining environment featuring an eclectic menu of handcrafted cocktails and bites that reference the neighborhood’s global influences, including Handmade Dim Sum.

Carol Hoeller, Vice President Global Brand Management for Hotel Indigo, commented: “The opening of Hotel Indigo Flushing is an exciting development for the fast-growing Hotel Indigo portfolio. We strive to make locals proud with each new opening, celebrating the neighborhood and becoming part of the community. This hotel demonstrates the best of Flushing, both in the design and guest stay, and will provide travelers with an authentic new experience that empowers them to explore.”

Kevin Chang, General Manager of Hotel Indigo Flushing, added: “At Hotel Indigo, we believe in creating an experience that is as unique as the neighborhood itself. Distinctive design cues inspired by the local history and surrounding influences give guests a flavor of Flushing before heading off to explore all that the vibrant Borough of Queens has to offer for themselves.”

Tennis enthusiasts traveling to the area for the US Open Tennis Championships, for which IHG Hotels & Resorts is the Official Hotel Sponsor, will appreciate Hotel Indigo Flushing’s proximity to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. A short distance to the subway and the Long Island Rail Road, the hotel also offers quick and convenient access to Manhattan.

Hotel Indigo has 133 hotels open globally, with another 119 in the pipeline.* Recent and upcoming openings include Vienna – Naschmarkt in Austria, Brisbane City Centre in Australia, World Trade Center in New York City and The Galapagos in Ecuador.

Etihad Airways named airline ratings ‘Environmental Airline of the Year 2022’

Etihad Airways named airline ratings ‘Environmental Airline of the Year 2022’

July 19, 2022 –

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, has been named ‘Environmental Airline of the Year 2022’ in the annual Airline Ratings awards. The ranking recognises Etihad’s industry-leading strategy to improve aviation sustainability for both the airline itself and the entire industry.

Environmental Airline

The UN Framework Convention on Climate Change chose the UAE as host for COP 28 which will take place in 2023. Etihad’s achievement is fully aligned with Abu Dhabi and the UAE’s own commitment to work with the international community to accelerate global efforts to address climate change and environmental protection and create a more sustainable economic future.

The airline recently published the Etihad Airways Sustainability Report which Airline Ratings deemed as a benchmark for the industry, demonstrating the potential advancements to be made in sustainable aviation by a wide range of initiatives.

Tony Douglas, Group Chief Executive Officer, Etihad Aviation Group, said: “Our ambition to become a leader in aviation sustainability has taken us on a journey to reduce the impact of aviation on the environment, not just for Etihad, but for the entire industry.

“We continue to explore and test all possible ways to decarbonise – from research into sustainable aviation fuels and contrail avoidance to offsets and reforestation through the Etihad Mangroves. The Sustainability Report we published earlier this year is a culmination of our efforts demonstrating the work we have done and what we have learned so far and I would encourage everyone to read it.”

Etihad Airways

Etihad’s sustainability initiatives began with a focus on creating operational efficiencies. The airline quickly went on to unite industry leaders and build the most comprehensive, cross organisational aviation sustainability initiative ever undertaken. This umbrella programme, now in its third year, includes partnerships with Boeing, GE, Airbus and Rolls Royce, as well as a wide range of collaborations with pioneering new-technology organisations, academic researchers, smaller businesses and start-ups.

Etihad’s flagship sustainability programmes include the Greenliner programme using the airline’s fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners as flying test-beds, as well as the Sustainable50 A350-1000 launched earlier this year.

Mr Douglas continues: “We are grateful to our partners from the major manufacturers to academics and small start-ups who have partnered with us on this mission, in particular through the Greenliner and Sustainable50 programmes. And we’re appreciative of our guests and corporate clients who have signed up to our green loyalty programme Conscious Choices or played their part by bringing a little less luggage or choosing to offset their flights.

“This accolade is testament to our efforts over the past few years to be the greenest airline in the sky and we’re proud to be awarded the Environmental Airline of the Year 2022. We are tremendously proud of this achievement but will not rest on our laurels as we have ambitious, industry-changing and climate critical action to continue to build on.”

Airlineratings.com Editor-in-Chief Geoffrey Thomas said “Etihad Airways has shown its clear leadership in the push for sustainable flight with its Greenliner Boeing 787 programme and this year with its Sustainability50, A350 aircraft.

“At every touchpoint, Etihad Airways staff and management are committed to reducing the airline’s CO2 footprint and it shows. The mantra at Etihad Airways is a million things count in reducing emissions and thus the focus is all-consuming.”

Mr Thomas added that “the airline’s Sustainability Report 2020-2021 demonstrates the potential advancements to be made in sustainable aviation by a wide range of initiatives, coordinated to achieve a 20% reduction in emissions intensity in its passenger fleet by 2025, cut 2019 net emissions by 50% by 2035, and reach net-zero emissions by 2050.”

Over the past three years, the airline has conducted a vast number of research eco-flights demonstrating potential carbon emission savings of up to 72% on a single flight. Etihad has also tested and implemented world-first operational efficiencies and technology solutions including Jeppesen Flite Deck Advisor, SATAVIA contrail avoidance, GE Engine Foam Wash, eTech logs and lightweight Unit Load Devices

In addition to the airline’s comprehensive testing and innovation programme, Etihad became the first airline to secure commercial finance based on verified compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (UN SDGs).

The Etihad Mangroves Forest project was launched with plans to establish carbon-absorbing forests in countries where the airline operates.

In an initiative to involve its guests and corporate clients, Etihad offers the Conscious Choices programme with rewards for customers who take environmentally positive action such as offsetting their flights. Corporate clients can benefit from accredited solutions to reduce their Scope 3 emissions.

AirAsia X Adds Australia And New Zealand Routes

July 19, 2022 –

The rebuild of the Malaysian medium- and long-haul LCC’s network is continuing with the restart of routes to Melbourne, Perth and Auckland.

AirAsia X

AirAsia X is adding service to Melbourne and Perth in Australia and returning to Auckland in New Zealand from Nov. 1, increasing the carrier’s network to 13 routes. The LCC served all three destinations from Kuala Lumpur (KUL) before the pandemic but is making some changes to the operations on its return. In the Melbourne market, the airline will resume flights to the city’s main international gateway Melbourne International (MEL), rather than flying to Avalon Airport (AVV). AirAsia X operated flights to MEL until late 2018 when it switched AVV, located about 50 km from Melbourne’s CBD.
The Auckland (AKL) route will also operate via Sydney (SYD), instead of being served nonstop.

All three routes—Kuala Lumpur-Perth (PER), Kuala Lumpur-Melbourne and Kuala Lumpur-Auckland via Sydney—will be served three times per week using Airbus A330-300s. However, AirAsia X said it plans to gradually increase frequencies to daily by the first quarter of 2023 to help meet “strong pent-up demand.”

“In 2019, we flew over a million guests to both countries, which shows that Australia and New Zealand are important markets for us, and we connected the same number of Australians and New Zealanders to Malaysia and across Asean,” AirAsia X CEO Benyamin Ismail said.

“As the world reopens and travel restrictions ease, we are confident these new services will prove popular.”

Melbourne Airport chief of aviation Jim Parashos welcomed the return of AirAsia X. He said: “With a significant network beyond Kuala Lumpur, AirAsia X provides a one-stop service into much of India and South East Asia, which is particularly valuable for international students or Victorians looking to visit friends and family overseas.

“AirAsia X’s decision to return to Melbourne Airport highlights the value travelers and airlines place on convenience as well as price.”

AirAsia X is currently flying two routes, serving Delhi (DEL) and Seoul Incheon (ICN) from KUL. However, further resumptions are planned over the coming weeks, including adding flights to Tokyo Haneda (HND) and Sydney. In June, the airline also said it hopes to return to the London market after a 10-year hiatus.

IHG’s Hotel Indigo launches Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre

July 15, 2022 –

Vista Hospitality Group, in partnership with IHG Hotels & Resorts, is excited to announce the launch of Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre which also marks the debut of the boutique luxury and lifestyle brand in Queensland.

Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre

Just as no two neighbourhoods are alike, no two Hotel Indigos are the same. With distinct storytelling through design, restaurant and bar concepts and guest experiences, Hotel Indigo hotels not only celebrate the stories of the neighbourhood, they are part of the community.

Ideally located in the riverside suburb of North Quay, Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre offers guests a creatively curated retreat that showcases the sights, sounds and flavours of its local neighbourhood across the entire guest journey.

Boasting a myriad of unique art and design features, the hotel is peppered with hand-painted artworks and murals created by local Queensland artists that reflect the city’s history makers, hidden gems and laneways.

Designed by Sydney-based interior design studio, JPDC, the interiors of the hotel have also been inspired by the transformative stories, hidden artistic flair and eclectic characters that have shaped the Brisbane CBD.

As a result, each of the 212 strikingly designed guest rooms pay homage to Brisbane’s unexpected treasures through a mix of carefully curated artworks and textures and are furnished with a full range of modern appliances.

At the hotel entrance guests will be greeted by two giant red doors spanning 6 metres high that are inspired by the red fairy doors on Burnett Lane, inviting the curious to uncover the hidden gems inside. This includes a graffiti covered Tuk Nook coffee cart in the lobby, history inspired black and white murals at the reception and a beautiful mural painted by local artists along the hotel corridors.

The hotel’s food and beverage concepts and outlets, including the signature restaurant Izakaya Publico, were designed in consultation with globally recognised consultant Shane Giles from Blue Salt. Izakaya Publico offers guests and locals an authentic Japanese dining experience using locally sourced seasonal produce across the menu which features signature grilled dishes such as Bonito Tataki and Kushiyaki Skewers.

For local beer, wine, and cocktail favourites with a sake twist, 1603 is the contemporary speakeasy inspired bar on level one that will become a firm favourite for anyone wanting to experience Brisbane’s newest evening venue.

According to Patrick Imbardelli, Board Member, Vista Hospitality Group and Chairman of Next Story Group, the launch of Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre is set to spark curiosity amongst visitors and locals alike with its strong sense of character and community.

“The local neighbourhood story of North Quay and its surrounding area, is interspersed into the DNA of Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre. Our aim is for the hotel to become part of the fabric of the community while creating an experience that is genuinely local and full of discovery,” Patrick said.

“Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre is a uniquely inspired hotel that is stylish yet approachable, with an aesthetic rooted in storytelling. It combines local character, distinctive design cues, vibrant colours, and rich textures and we know guests will delight in uncovering the hidden gems and unexpected finds that surround us in the heart of Brisbane.”

Matthew Tripolone, Managing Director, IHG Australasia & Pacific, said“Hotel Indigo has paved its way across the globe as a leader in the boutique and lifestyle category – one of the fastest-growing hotel segments. We know travellers are seeking even richer options to immerse in the communities they visit, and we are seeing this enthusiasm for new brands in the region from both guests and owners alike. We are delighted to continue the growth of Hotel Indigo with our partners at Vista Hospitality Group and look forward to opening in new neighbourhoods across the region.”

Doha Melbourne flights

Qatar Airways to increase Doha Melbourne flights

Doha Melbourne flights

Qatar Airways to increase Doha Melbourne flights

July 13, 2022 –

Qatar Airways will be increasing its Doha – Melbourne flights from the current once-daily schedule to double-daily flights from 1 October with the support of the Victorian Government. The airline and the Victorian Government signed a strategic agreement to increase connectivity to Melbourne to further boost trade and tourism.

Doha Melbourne flights

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: “Melbourne is the original home for Qatar Airways in Australia, and we are excited to enhance our operations there, as a testament to both strong demand and our deep commitment to Australia. We look forward to welcoming more passengers to experience our five-star hospitality, as travel to and from Melbourne to many cities worldwide via our Doha hub in Qatar. The launch of the additional daily flight to Melbourne ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ will allow more football fans travel to attend their respective matches.”

Minister for Industry Support and Recovery, Ben Carroll, said: “Backing international aviation supports our economy and we will continue to work with airlines like Qatar Airways to establish and expand routes into Melbourne to boost local jobs.”

Melbourne Airport Chief Executive Officer, Lorie Argus, said: “There is huge demand for international travel out of Melbourne, and these extra services couldn’t come at a better time with the soccer World Cup kicking off in November. It’s exciting to see airlines like Qatar Airways adding more capacity into Melbourne, given they are a global airline and could send their aircraft anywhere it’s a huge vote of confidence in our city. Qatar Airways is already a favourite with passengers heading to the Middle East or Europe, and given their partnerships with both Virgin Australia and Qantas, we expect these new flights will prove very popular.”

The additional Melbourne schedule includes an onward leg to Canberra, officially resuming a once-daily connection between Doha and Canberra starting 1 October. The added daily schedule will be operated by Boeing 777-300ER, featuring its award-winning QSuite Business Class. The airline will operate a total of 40 weekly flights to Australia with this network enhancement.

With the newest addition, the airline will operate to six destinations in Australia including Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Perth and Sydney. This will exceed Qatar Airways’ pre-pandemic footprint of five gateways in Australia, following the addition of Brisbane services started early 2020 during the global pandemic.

Qatar Airways has recently announced its strategic partnership with Virgin Australia, which will offer increased travel options and benefits across 35 destinations in its extensive domestic network, as well as to its recently relaunched short-haul international markets, including Fiji and Queenstown, New Zealand.

Qatar Airways has maintained its Australian services throughout the pandemic, whilst launching services to Brisbane in early 2020 to provide essential connectivity. It has carried over 330,000 passengers in and out of Australia during the pandemic between March 2020 to December 2021 via both commercial flights and special chartered services. Qatar Airways Cargo has also played a crucial part supporting Australia’s imports and exports industry during the pandemic, by being one of the very few global airlines that never stopped flying. Currently, Qatar Airways Cargo carries over 1,900 tonnes of cargo to and from Australia per week.

The national carrier of the State of Qatar continues to rebuild its network, which currently stands at over 150 destinations. With more frequencies being added to key hubs, Qatar Airways offers unrivalled connectivity to passengers, making it easy for them to connect to a destination of their choice.

A multiple award-winning airline, Qatar Airways was announced as the ‘Airline of the Year’ at the 2021 World Travel Awards., managed by the international air transport rating organisation, Skytrax. It was also named ‘World’s Best Business Class’, ‘World’s Best Business Class Airline Lounge’, ‘World’s Best Business Class Airline Seat’, ‘World’s Best Business Class Onboard Catering’ and ‘Best Airline in the Middle East’. The airline continues to stand alone at the top of the industry having won the main prize for an unprecedented sixth time (2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021).

Park Hyatt Jakarta

Park Hyatt Jakarta officially opens in heart of Tranquil Menteng

Radisson Blu Cluj

Park Hyatt Jakarta officially opens in heart of Tranquil Menteng

July 12, 2022 –

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of Park Hyatt Jakarta, marking the highly anticipated debut of the Park Hyatt brand in Indonesia. Located in the tranquil Menteng area in the heart of Jakarta’s bustling central business district, the hotel offers a distinctive collection of culinary, leisure and wellness experiences as well as unique event venues for bespoke celebrations, delivering guests and locals the epitome of luxury in Jakarta.

Park Hyatt Jakarta

“With Hyatt hotels operating in Indonesia for over 40 years, we are delighted to share that the Park Hyatt brand has launched in the country, introducing its refined hospitality and personal service to local residents and visitors from near and far,” said David Udell, group president, Asia-Pacific, Hyatt. “As more countries reopen their borders and travel confidence grows, Park Hyatt Jakarta is an exciting addition to our Park Hyatt portfolio, complementing new hotels that have opened in recent years in Auckland, Kyoto, Niseko and Suzhou.”

Park Hyatt Jakarta occupies the top 17 floors of the 37-story Park Tower in the center of the city’s financial and diplomatic district. The hotel’s surrounding area, Menteng, was originally conceived in the early 20th century as a garden city and is now known for its peaceful tree-lined streets, abundant greenery and elegant heritage architecture. Park Hyatt Jakarta offers easy access to idyllic parks and popular retail and entertainment venues as well as panoramic views of the nearby National Monument Park. The hotel’s location harkens back to the origins of the Park Hyatt brand with its first property overlooking a serene park in Chicago, its proximity to nature reflecting how Park Hyatt hotels around the world offer an oasis of calm in the midst of the bustle of the city.

Contemporary Design, with Indonesia at its Core

The residential-style interiors of Park Hyatt Jakarta were designed by award-winning, London-based design practice Conran and Partners led by partner Tina Norden. Inspired by the beauty of the Indonesian rainforests, traditional crafts and indigenous natural materials, the design uses elements such as lava stone and copper as well as handwoven ikat textile motifs, intricate wood carvings and shields are used to create a welcoming oasis of calm and elegance for its guests. The visual journey through the property symbolises the layers of a rainforest, starting with a richer, darker color scheme on the lower floors that calls to mind the forest’s understory. Reflective of branches wrapped around the trunk with dappled light filtered through the canopy, the palette becomes lighter on the higher floors with warm tones incorporated throughout. Through the atmospheric transition and evocative design, guests will be transported from Jakarta’s urban bustle into a tranquil, sophisticated and comforting environment with a strong sense of location overlooking the city.

A custom art collection, curated by Indonesia’s acclaimed Hadiprana design consultants, seamlessly merges traditional heritage with sleek contemporary designs, creating a subtle contrast between Jakarta’s modern urbanity and the country’s ancient natural environment. Guests can also admire specially commissioned works by celebrated Indonesian artist John Martono, whose swirling abstracts blend painting and hand embroidery on silk. European inspirations are also evident. One of the hotel’s most striking features is a series of hand-blown crystal installations and chandeliers, made up of thousands of delicate orbs that hover like clouds, reflective of rainfall and starlit skies. A nod to the archipelago’s diverse cultural heritage, the guestrooms feature exquisite traditional Indonesian crowns made from copper, which is also widely applied as an interior accent for a subtle touch of splendor.

Guestrooms

Park Hyatt Jakarta features 220 elegant, oversized rooms, including 36 suites. Guestrooms range from approximately 615 to 915 square feet (57 to 85 square meters), while the suites are from approximately 935 2,450 square feet (87 to 228 square meters). All rooms come with floor-to-ceiling windows, providing uninterrupted views of Jakarta and the National Monument landmark. Guests can also enjoy deep-soaking marble baths and large flat-screen TVs with an integrated media hub, while rooms are adorned with classic Indonesian decorative objects from jewels to paintings and shields. The hotel’s Presidential Suite offers guests understated contemporary luxury. Covering an expansive 3,230 square feet (300 square meters) and with its own VIP entrance, the suite includes a spacious bedroom with an 82-inch LED TV and a living area anchored by a work desk made from solid Trembesi wood.

Drinking and Dining

Park Hyatt Jakarta’s stylish restaurants and bars create the ideal backdrop for local residents and visitors to socialise, entertain and relax in an enriching environment. Each dining outlet is adorned with natural daylight and numerous outdoor terraces and offer a collection of culinary experiences with one-of-a-kind menus.

Royal Palm Galapagos, Curio Collection by Hilton offers a distinct dining experience featuring island-sourced ingredients, from vegetables and fruits from local producers to grass-fed meat products and sustainably harvested seafood. The hotel’s food and beverage offerings are helmed by two extraordinary sous chefs born and raised in the Galapagos, Patricio Sisa and Rommel Chalen, who bring their vast experience, passion and enjoyment of their local traditions, including traditional Ecuadorian and international flavors to their always evolving menu while transforming the customs of the Galapagos into culinary adventures.

Royal Palm Galapagos, Curio Collection by Hilton Lava Tunnel Dining

The hotel is home to the destination’s only fine dining restaurant inside a lava tunnel located nearly 60 feet underground. Opening this year, this new culinary journey begins at Muttini, a 30-year-old building decorated with cannons and anchors, with a guided tour through the lava tunnel and finishes at the volcanic vault with a six-course dinner inspired by the homegrown culture and ingredients.

The Royal Palm Restaurant serves delicious international and local cuisine featuring a variety of Galapaguenian recipes with fresh ingredients from its house farm and catch of the day. The 50-seat restaurant combines elegant colonial style and traditional island design with warm mahogany furniture that reflects the glow of the open fire and on warmer nights, guests are encouraged to dine alfresco on the terrace under the equatorial stars. The wine cellar reflects the eclectic nature of the menu and includes an extensive range of some of South America’s best wines.

Amenities + Experiences

Both adventurous travelers, as well as those looking for a tranquil, eco-conscious hideaway, can fill their days with an abundance of excursions. From catching the first glimpse of a Galapagos giant tortoise in its natural habitat as they roam freely in the National Park to snorkeling among the volcanic crevices filled with crystal-clear emerald water, the experiences designed by the hotel will leave guests in wonderment of the islands.

Beyond the islands’ world-renowned voyages, guests have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to conserve the endangered species that reside on the property such as the Galapagos Crake, Galapagos Short Eared Owl, Scalesia pedunculata, Robesonian Miconia and more. Those looking to recharge can delight at the estate’s idyllic picturesque pool, newly renovated fitness center, and be fascinated by the natural wonders of the Galapagos while enjoying the highest level of services provided within the unspoiled location of the hotel. By year-end, the hotel plans to introduce a new spa that will boast an exclusive relaxation and massage area in the lava tunnel as well as two treatment rooms and rejuvenating treatments designed with the utmost sustainable practices and methods.
