airBaltic introduces exciting new Tallinn to Reykjavik flights 2025

airBaltic introduces new exciting Tallinn to Reykjavik flights 2025

If you’ve been dreaming of swapping Tallinn’s medieval towers for Iceland’s otherworldly landscapes, airBaltic has heard you loud and clear. The airline has just launched its brand-new, direct Tallinn to Reykjavik route — meaning you can now trade cobbled streets for lava fields in about three and a half hours.

The new service takes off twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with return flights from Reykjavik on Thursdays and Sundays — perfect for a cheeky long weekend or a full-blown Icelandic adventure.

It’s not just great news for Estonia’s wannabe explorers — this is the first time in years Tallinn has enjoyed a direct connection to Iceland. No more awkward layovers or watching your connection disappear because your croissant in Copenhagen took a little too long. Now it’s Tallinn straight to Reykjavik, easy as that.

A hot ticket to the land of fire and ice

This is actually airBaltic’s second route to Iceland — they’ve been flying from Riga to Reykjavik for a while now — but Tallinn getting in on the action is a real boost for Estonian travellers.

Let’s be honest, Iceland’s been sitting near the top of every bucket list for years. Whether it’s those stunning waterfalls, the famous Blue Lagoon, or simply the bragging rights of having seen the midnight sun, there’s something magnetic about the place.

And with this summer-only route running right up until the end of August, now is the perfect time to go before the snow (and the prices) pile back up.

Flying with flair (and fast Wi-Fi)

The route is operated by airBaltic’s fancy Airbus A220-300 — a shiny, quiet and very comfortable aircraft that’s quickly become a hit with passengers.

You can pick between Economy and Business Class (or as we call it, Instagram Class and Champagne Class). And for those of us who can’t bear to be offline — great news — the plane comes with free, fast Wi-Fi powered by SpaceX Starlink.

Yes, that means you can post your Iceland photos before you even land. Or catch up on your favourite show while soaring over the North Atlantic. Multitasking at 39,000 feet — what’s not to love?

Part of a Baltic takeover

This isn’t just about one new route — airBaltic is clearly beefing up its Tallinn operation. With Reykjavik now on the map, the airline has 22 direct summer destinations from Tallinn — including hotspots like Paris, Malaga, Rome and even Rhodes for those craving more Mediterranean vibes.

According to airBaltic’s ever-enthusiastic VP Mantas Vrubliauskas, this Iceland route is another step in the airline’s big push to grow across Estonia and the Baltics.

“We’re committed to offering more choice to our passengers,” he said. “Tallinn to Reykjavik is another exciting link in our growing European network.” Translation: They’re making sure you never run out of cool places to go.

Why this matters (besides the Instagram shots)

Aside from the obvious — Iceland is stunning — this is genuinely a game-changer for Estonian travellers. No more awkward multi-leg journeys — just one smooth flight and you’re there.

And Iceland really does deliver: volcanic landscapes, geysers, glaciers, whale-watching, puffins, incredible food (hello, lamb stew), and those famous hot dogs you’ll hear everyone talking about.

Plus, Estonia and Iceland feel like natural travel buddies — small nations, big nature, cool capital cities with even cooler locals. You’ll fit right in.

When to go

The route runs till late August — which means now is the time to snap up a ticket. With just two flights a week, you’ll want to book early to avoid missing out.

So whether you’re craving hot springs, northern lights, or just a good excuse for an adventure — Reykjavik is now just one hop away. Time to pack that camera and your best woolly hat — Iceland awaits!

airBaltic Adds Exciting New Routes to Winter 2025 Schedule

airBaltic Adds Exciting New Routes to Winter 2025 Schedule

Latvian carrier airBaltic is turning up the heat for the Winter 2025 season—and no, we don’t mean the in-flight coffee. From seaside getaways in Portugal to snowy slopes in the Alps, the airline has unveiled a robust winter schedule that brings three new routes, increased flight frequencies, and continued service to some of Europe’s most sought-after destinations.

Running from late October 2025 through late March 2026, the winter program offers sunseekers, snow lovers, and city hoppers plenty to get excited about—even if the temperatures outside say otherwise.

Need assistance with groups and incentives in Europe? Contact one of these fantastic DMCs for your chosen location!

New Winter Routes: Sunshine, Slopes, and Surprise Pairings

Let’s start with the newcomers. airBaltic is rolling out three brand-new routes to warm up your winter:

Riga – Faro (Portugal)
Start date: September 6, 2025 | Once weekly
Swap the snow for Algarve’s Atlantic breeze. This new route connects Latvia’s capital with Portugal’s sun-kissed southern coast just as the Baltic weather starts getting serious about frostbite.

Gran Canaria – Ljubljana (Slovenia)
Start date: October 25, 2025 | Once weekly
This one’s a wildcard—and a welcome one. Linking the Canary Islands with Slovenia’s charming capital, it’s perfect for travelers wanting to escape island life or spice up their winter with a little Adriatic flair.

Tallinn – Madeira (Portugal)
Start date: October 26, 2025 | Once weekly
Estonia meets the eternal spring of Madeira. Expect floral walks, mountain views, and a climate that makes you forget what month it is.

All three routes will be served weekly, offering both Economy and Business options—because sometimes you want a good deal, and sometimes you want a glass of bubbly at 30,000 feet.

Amsterdam, Amplified

It’s not just new destinations getting attention. airBaltic is also beefing up connections to major European hubs—most notably Amsterdam. The airline will now offer a whopping 19 flights per week from Riga, and 14 weekly flights each from Tallinn and Vilnius. That’s nearly three flights a day, giving Baltic travelers serious flexibility (and more opportunities to accidentally spend €40 on stroopwafels).

Dubai Dreaming

As temperatures in Northern Europe drop, interest in sunny escapes soars—and airBaltic is clearly listening. Daily flights from Riga to Dubai will keep the connection hot, while Vilnius to Dubai will see its service double to four times per week. Whether you’re heading for high-end shopping, desert adventures, or just a reliably warm beach, Dubai’s got you covered—and now more often than ever.

Summer Routes, Reimagined

Who says summer has to end in August? airBaltic is extending several sunny routes into the winter months:

  • Riga to Pisa and Porto will continue through November, letting you squeeze in a bit more gelato or port wine before winter hits.
  • Riga to Catania (Sicily) will also resume earlier than usual, now returning to the skies in March 2026, perfect for an early spring escape to Italian island life.

Egypt Escapes and Irish Returns

If pyramids and Red Sea snorkeling are on your wishlist, you’re in luck. airBaltic is increasing winter service to Egypt, with three weekly flights each to Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada from Riga.

Meanwhile, the popular Riga–Dublin route is making a winter comeback, offering two weekly flights, reconnecting Baltic travelers with the Irish capital—and maybe a proper pint of Guinness.

Snowbound? Sorted.

Ski bums and snowboarders, rejoice. airBaltic has made sure you’re covered with easy access to Europe’s top winter sports destinations. From Innsbruck and Salzburg to Geneva, Verona, and Kittilä, hitting the slopes is as easy as buckling your boots and boarding your flight.

A Winter to Remember

Whether you’re chasing sun, snow, or something in between, airBaltic’s Winter 2025 schedule brings together a smart mix of new destinations, expanded service, and extended seasonal favorites. With thoughtful connections across the Baltics, Southern Europe, and beyond, the airline is making it easier than ever to swap grey skies for great adventures.

So, go ahead—book the trip. Your winter story is about to get a whole lot warmer (or chillier, if that’s your thing).

AirBaltic Expands Amazing Amsterdam Flights from All 3 Baltic Capitals

If you are a fan of airBaltic and Dutch delights like stroopwafels or picturesque canal walks refreshing, then you would love this news; airBaltic is set to increase the flights going to Amsterdam from the three capitals located in the Baltic region.

Need help with groups and incentives in Amsterdam? Contact this fantastic DMC!

From March 30, 2025, the airline will include:

  • Amsterdam – Riga : 3 daily flights
  • Amsterdam – Tallin : 2 daily flights
  • Amsterdam – Vilnius : 2 daily flights

A few more fuel-efficient Airbus A220-300 airplanes will therefore be cruising over Europe, providing more options, more flexibility and less excuses not to spend a weekend in the Netherlands. This means more travel flexibility for most Europe travellers.

Reason behind the increase in flights

AirBaltic’s Chief Executive Officer Martin Gauss shared that Amsterdam is a priority location and the additional flights will support the ease of connections from the Baltics to the rest of the globe. This is an advantage for tourists, business travellers and anyone who really REALLY loves Dutch cheese.

Flying fancy with AirBaltic

If you haven’t flown with AirBaltic for a while, brace yourself for some new surprises.

Not only do they fly a modern fleet of 50 Airbus A220-300s (also known as sleek and fuel-efficient flying machines) but they also provide complimentary ground-breaking SpaceX Starlink wifi meaning that you can scroll through social media and send “guess where I am” selfies while 35,000 feet in the air.

AirBaltic is planning to expand its fleet to double its current numbers by 2030, meaning they have some big changes planned. Whether you are traveling for business, taking time off, or just feel like buying a pair of Dutch clogs, reaching Amsterdam has become a lot easier.

Ryanair announces Bold German Shuffle

Ryanair Boosts Milan with 10 New Routes This Winter

Ryanair Boosts Milan with 10 New Routes This Winter

Italy’s noisiest airline—Ryanair—is back with more winter surprises! Think of it like a wintry gift bag filled with new routes, fewer planes (for some), and Michael O’Leary waving his magic wand to get rid of those annoying surcharges. For winter 2024, Ryanair is adding 10 new routes from Milan Malpensa Airport. So, pack your sunscreen for Fuerteventura, your thermal socks for Tallinn, and maybe a little extra patience for those famous Ryanair landing trumpets. They launch 10 new winter routes from Milan Malpensa Airport to Athens, Budapest, Paris, Fuerteventura, Krakow, Mallorca, Marrakech, Reggio Calabria, Rzeszow, and Tallinn. The airline will also base an eighth aircraft at Malpensa

Oh, and did we mention Ryanair’s also adding an eighth aircraft at Malpensa? With more planes come more passengers—4.5 million, to be precise—whizzing around Europe, soaking up culture, and squeezing into Ryanair’s snug seating arrangements. Let’s just say it’s going to be a busy winter!

Bergamo’s Winter Blues

Now, onto the not-so-sunny side of the news—over at Milan Bergamo Airport, things are cooling off. Ryanair is cutting its fleet from 24 to 20 aircraft, shrinking seat capacity by 5%. Why? Well, the airline is focusing on airports that make their accountants smile a bit wider. Sorry, Bergamo—it’s not you, it’s… money.

The New Italian Favourites: Trieste & Reggio Calabria

While Bergamo weeps, Trieste and Reggio Calabria are Ryanair’s new BFFs, all thanks to their decision to ditch those pesky municipal surcharges. According to Michael O’Leary—Ryanair’s CEO and surcharge-slaying crusader—these fee-free airports are set to welcome more flights and more tourists. And if Italy as a whole scraps these charges, O’Leary has promised to open his wallet, pledging $4 billion for 40 new aircraft, 250 new routes, and 1,500 new jobs. That’s a lot of Ryanair fanfare!

In O’Leary’s own words: “More planes, more jobs, and of course, more in-flight announcements you can’t quite hear properly.”

Where Will Ryanair Take You Next?

This winter, whether you’re craving the romantic cafes of Paris, the medieval charm of Krakow, or the sunny streets of Reggio Calabria, Ryanair is ready to whisk you away. Just don’t forget: surcharges are public enemy number one in Michael O’Leary’s world—so let’s hope Italy gets on board with his mission to eliminate them!

Highlights Ryanair Boosts Milan with 10 New Routes This Winter (or should we say… Sky-lights?)

  • New Routes: Milan Malpensa gets 10 shiny new routes, including winter-ready Tallinn and sun-soaked Fuerteventura. Pack your sunglasses and your thermals.
  • More Planes, More Problems (for your legs): Ryanair is parking an eighth aircraft at Malpensa, bringing in 4.5 million passengers. Hope you like cosy seating.
  • Bergamo Break-Up: Milan Bergamo loses four planes—sounds like a bad romance, but it’s just business.
  • Surcharge Showdown: Trieste and Reggio Calabria are the new stars thanks to ditching municipal surcharges. O’Leary’s ready to sprinkle $4 billion on Italy if the whole country follows suit. (Who knew fighting fees could be so lucrative?)
  • O’Leary’s Call to Arms: He’s not just bringing you budget flights, he’s also fighting for a surcharge-free Italy. Expect more routes, more jobs, and definitely more confusing in-flight announcements.

Tallinn Christmas Market Estonia – declared most beautiful market 3 years ago

Tallinn Christmas Market

Tallinn Christmas Market

Already awarded the title of the most beautiful Christmas market in Europe 3 years ago, Tallinn has become a must-see destination at Christmas.

The Tallinn Christmas Market

The market delights everyone with its coziness, historical location, centuries-old buildings and long traditions.

Christmas in Latvia will be a great experience for a short break in the Baltic States. Along with having multiple markets, Riga is one of the most affordable winter break destinations in Europe with many things to do around the city. While Riga might not be one of the first destinations that come to mind when thinking about Christmas, it’s worth noting that Riga is believed to be the first city in the world to put up a decorated Christmas tree back in 1510.

The reason to love Christmas markets is that you can find such unique gifts for loved ones back home. The Vilnius Christmas Markets have stalls that sell handmade products or organic produce from Lithuanian companies.
