10 new destination restaurants and bars by Accor

March 15, 2022 – 10 new destination restaurants and bars by Accor

At the center of our hospitality, from Seattle to Phuket, here are 10 recent and upcoming openings truly bringing our vision to life.

When talking about a destination bar or restaurant there is always one special component that makes it stand out from the rest. We can talk about a certain view or a dish, but what constitutes a truly unique place is the impression it leaves. To make Food & Beverage an experience itself, whether it’s a gourmet burger bar, a cocktail speakeasy or a Michelin chef’s table, we work with the leading talents and local producers, to imbibe each new bar and restaurant with its own distinct taste – its individual sense of place and identity.

As part of its grand redesign, the Fairmont Olympic Seattle’s is also debuting The George, a modern, brasserie-inspired dining experience in April.

At Moreish, Scandinavian-style salmon is combined with gin from Schroder’s Botanicals Bar and over at the Greens café, the wellness chef prescribes food and drinks with personal health in mind.

March 11, 2022 – the INNSiDE Madrid Valdebebas hotel

The hotel forms part of a new development which will include a modern, private hospital in the fastest-growing area in the north of Madrid

the INNSiDE Madrid Valdebebas hotel

Meliá Hotels International and Grupo Pryconsa have announced the future opening of the INNSiDE Madrid Valdebebas Hotel, destined to become the leading hotel in this flourishing residential area in the north of Madrid.

It is also expected to become a popular hotel among the users of Madrid Airport, through which more than 60 million passengers pass in a normal year.

the INNSiDE Madrid Valdebebas hotel has a prime location between the Valdebebas development and the airport area, with which it will be connected through the spectacular “Puente de la Concordia”, which is due to be inaugurated shortly.

It will be only 10 minutes from the Plaza de Castilla and 5 minutes from the IFEMA exhibition centre, with easy access by road, and alongside the most luxurious new developments in Madrid and the Real Madrid Sports City.

The development is promoted by Saint Croix HI, the REIT of Grupo Pryconsa, with the latter acting as project manager during the construction process.

With 273 rooms and a very modern design, the INNSiDE Madrid Valdebebas hotel, the future INNSiDE will be a perfect example of the INNSiDE by Meliá brand, a collection of lifestyle hotels in which the latest architecture and design combine to perfection with the comfort and functionality sought by modern travellers in both city and resort destinations.

This versatility has made INNSiDE the company’s fastest-growing brand worldwide, with 38 hotels currently in operation and a further 8 under construction or preparing to open in a total of 18 countries.

The most recently opened INNSiDE hotels include the Innside Madrid Gran Via in Madrid (also together with the Grupo Pryconsa), and in Europe, the INNSiDE Liverpool, INNSiDE Newcastle, INNSiDE Luxembourg, INNSiDE Amsterdam, INNSiDE Milan, INNSiDE Paris Charles de Gaulle and the impressive INNSiDE Frankfurt.

The brand is also present in other destinations around the world such as New York, and over the coming years expects to continue growing with openings in Europe, America and Asia. In Asia the company already operates 3 hotels under the brand in Indonesia, China and Vietnam, and at the end of the year will open the INNSiDE Bangkok Sukhumvit.

The brand is growing all around the world thanks to the personalised and efficient service it provides, and a welcoming yet avant-garde environment, both in resort and city hotels.

The hotel will offer all the attributes required by “bleisure” travellers who combine business trips with leisure and lifestyle experiences. Facilities will include a gym, bar and restaurant, as well as a 405m2 rooftop area with a fantastic lounge and swimming pool, as well as an adjoining area for a Convention Centre and multi-purpose events venue measuring more than 4,500 m2.

In addition to the potential generated by its proximity to the airport and IFEMA, Saint Croix plans to build a modern, private hospital on the site next to the hotel, which will also create synergies with its services and users.

Iberia launches non-stop flights from Madrid to Ljubljana 2024

Train and Fly Iberia – super combination to travel to 14 destinations in Spain

airline news

Train and Fly Iberia

blank

blank

blank

March 10, 2022 – Train and Fly Iberia – combines flights with 14 destinations in Spain

  • One ticket will include both air and rail journeys and include commuter trains between Madrid-Barajas airport and Madrid Renfe railroad stations Chamartin or Atocha
  • Train destinations served via this service are Saragossa, Seville, Malaga, Cordoba, Valladolid, Valencia, Alicante, Leon, Palencia, Pamplona, Salamanca, Albacete, Zamora, and Orense
  • In this first year, more than 100,000 customers may take advantage of this sustainable mobility option and choose the most efficient route with highly competitive fares

Train and Fly Iberia

Iberia and Spain’s national railway Renfe are extending their intermodal Train & Fly to reach 14 Spanish cities.

The two companies have developed the scheme over the past six years and now are adding technical improvements as well as nine new destinations -Valencia, Alicante, Leon, Palencia, Pamplona, Salamanca, Albacete, Zamora, and Orense – to the original five  – Saragossa, Seville, Malaga, Cordoba, and Valladolid. All 14 can be conveniently reached from all 90 Iberia international destinations.

Train and Fly Iberia:  Intermodal Ticket

Train&Fly tickets resemble those with multiple flights and include the train journey, the local commuter train to or from Madrid-Barajas airport, and the international flight.

These combined tickets including plane and train furnish numerous travel planning options to customers, and the tickets are cheaper than buying the individual train and plane tickets separately. The scheme included the guarantee of alternative transportation in the event of a failed connection.

Renfe Customer Service Manager, Sonia Araujo, commented: “This agreement is an important step forward in our inter-modality strategy. We see Iberia as a major strategic partner, and its international air travelers can avail themselves of a fast, zero-emissions means of transport such as our HSTs. Tourists who fly to Spain with Iberia and continue their journeys in our HSTs or Long Distance trains will find it a convenient, comfortable, and rewarding experience”.

Iberia Sales Manager, María Jesús López, said the deal represents “a major step towards inter-modality in Spain because it broadens the options available to our international passengers to reach provincial Spanish cities efficiently on a combined ticket. The additional cities included in the Train&Fly scheme will also make Renfe a perfect ally in helping us feed our long-haul routes, and simultaneously increasing international tourism to numerous Spanish cities, given the millions of tourists who come to Span by air each year”.

It is expected that more than 100,000 customers will use this combined Iberia-Renfe service this year, thanks to its efficiency, convenience, and competitive fares. Train&Fly will be improved even further when Spain’s HST network reaches Madrid-Barajas Airport in the near future, and as new value-added services are incorporated by both companies.

14 Train and Fly Iberia destinations

Train&Fly is available on the iberia.com and renfe.com websites and at travel agencies for those wishing to combine international Iberia flights via Madrid with Renfe destinations:  Saragossa, Seville, Malaga, Cordoba, Valladolid, Valencia, Alicante, Leon, Palencia, Pamplona, Salamanca, Albacete, Zamora. and Orense.

Combined Tickets Include Commuter Trains to/from Airport

The Train&Fly service is available for both single and returns travel. One ticket takes the traveler all the way from the city of origin to the final destination, since the price includes local commuter train service between Renfe’s Atocha and Charmartin stations in Madrid and the airport.

Visit the Plaza de Bolivar, where a statue of the great liberator Simon Bolivar is located.

Enjoy a half day visit to the historic centre of Bogotá
known as La Candelaria. This archaic suburb has great significance in the country´s history due to its cultural heritage and is also a great example of Spanish colonial time architecture. Visit the main square Plaza de Bolivar, where a statue of the great emancipator Simon
Bolivar is located.

Bike tour of La Candelaria

The plaza, originally called the Plaza Mayor, was used for civil and military purposes such as a marketplace, a bullring and it was also the place where many executions were held.

The Cathedral, on the eastern side of the plaza, is constructed on the same spot where the first church was built in Bogotá in 1539 and houses an important
collection of religious artefacts such as textiles and artworks, collection that has been built over four centuries.

The Capilla del Sagrario is located just beside the Cathedral and is a gem of religious architecture, it houses valuable pieces of colonial religious art by Gregorio Vasquez de Arce y Ceballos.

At the same time, Turkish Airlines has added its TK marketing code to Air Serbia’s routes between Niš and Istanbul, as well as Kraljevo and Istanbul, thus providing passengers on mentioned routes access to Turkish Airlines’ global network.

Both airlines already codeshare on below flights:

Maldives removes PCR test

March 8 2022 – Maldives removes PCR test -The Maldives has become the latest country to relax its Covid-19-related entry restrictions.

Maldives removes PCR test requirement for vaccinated travellers from 8 march

As of March 5th, fully vaccinated foreign travellers are no longer required to provide a negative PCR test upon arrival in the destination.

Neither do they need to present a PCR test prior to departing the Indian Ocean archipelagic nation, according to a notice issued by authorities.

However, all inbound international travellers still need to complete the Traveller Health Declaration form within 48 hours of a flight.

The decision comes as vaccination rates worldwide continue to climb.

With an economy reliant on tourism, the Maldives opened its borders quite early on in the course of the pandemic, starting in July 2020.

Maldives removes PCR test
From late July 2021, all international visitors over the age of one needed a negative PCR test taken within 96 hours of departure for the Maldives.

Tourists checking out of a guesthouse on any inhabited island also had to provide a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of checkout.

New Zealand reopen for travellers in 2022

blank

new_zealand_reopen

March 8 2022 – New Zealand reopen – This week the New Zealand Government announced it is removing the self-isolation requirements for vaccinated travellers arriving in New Zealand. As per the government’s re-connecting plan, visitors from visa waiver countries (including the US and Canada) are expected to be allowed to enter New Zealand starting no later than July this year.

New Zealand reopen for travellers

Following the announcement, Sarah Handley, General Manager for Americas & Europe for Tourism New Zealand said “we are thrilled to be one step closer to being able to welcome back international visitors to New Zealand and showcasing the best New Zealand has to offer. We look forward to keeping industry and our partners closely updated on New Zealand’s plan to reconnect with the world”.

Getting to New Zealand is easy. From Los Angeles, Auckland is a non-stop 12 hour overnight flight. You can literally ‘wake up in New Zealand’. Prior to the pandemic, you could also fly to New Zealand non-stop from San Francisco, Vancouver, Houston, Chicago and Honolulu with all of these routes scheduled to return in 2022.

A land of diverse regions and landscapes, New Zealand stretches across two main and a myriad of small offshore islands. Here you can experience adrenaline, luxury and unique culture all in the same day. Thrill-seekers can add the adrenaline-rush of bungy jumping or exhilarating jet boat safaris, while the more sedate will enjoy world-class golf courses and award-winning wine and cuisine. Meanwhile, New Zealand’s fascinating Māori culture provides unique opportunities to connect and learn. A multicultural nation made up of vibrant and embracing cultures, Kiwis pride themselves in the warm welcome, or manaakitanga, travellers receive when visiting Aotearoa (New Zealand).

The high-level summary of entry requirements for all travellers to New Zealand pertaining to COVID-19 is as follows:

  • All travellers entering New Zealand must be fully vaccinated in line with New Zealand government entry requirements.
  • A negative pre-departure test (PCR, LAMP or Rapid Antigen) in line with New Zealand government requirements is required for all travellers.
  • No compulsory requirement for all arriving travellers to either self-isolate or enter a government-managed isolation hotel, i.e. all forms of isolation for arriving travellers (including foreign nationals) are removed at all border reopening steps except for unvaccinated New Zealand citizens and residents returning to the country.
  • All travellers will be provided with two rapid antigen tests at no charge on arrival at Auckland Airport which is self-administered after exiting from the airport.
  • Travellers will be asked to undertake the first test on the day of arrival and then a second test on day 5 after arrival, this can be done once travellers have left the airport e.g.at home or hotel.
  • Travellers who test positive via either of their arrival day or day 5 RAT test will be required to take PCR test to confirm positive status, if positive they will then be asked to self-isolate in line with the requirements that apply to all community COVID-19 cases in New Zealand.

Oman travel restriction

March 8 2022 – If you are looking for a truly authentic experience in the Middle East, Oman is the place to be. It has a rich cultural heritage; stunning scenery; and luxurious hotels to match.

Oman travel restriction, PCR test removed for fully vaccinated visitors

As soon as the pandemic struck, this place was on the verge of becoming one of the world’s most popular destinations. A protracted hiatus has now ended, and the country is once again open for business, with pre-flight testing regulations being eliminated in an effort to capitalise on the burgeoning tourism industry.

A PCR test is no longer required for fully vaccinated travellers to enter Oman as of Tuesday.

With this move, the Sultanate’s Supreme Committee dealing with COVID-19 would lift pandemic-related restrictions.

Wearing facemasks will only be required indoors and Hotels can accommodate all their guests and operate at 100 pct capacity.

Outdoor activities, conferences, events, and social gatherings can be held at 70% capacity if all attendees follow preventive and precautionary measures.

In contrast to the rest of the Middle East, Oman offers a unique blend of culture, tranquilly, and sheer natural beauty.

Oman, in contrast to many of the region’s “newer” countries, has authentic souks that give its cities an old-world charm. It was a major factor in the development of regional cuisine and style, among other things, as a result of trade routes.

Some of the nicest beaches in the Middle East can be found along the Arabian Sea, Persian Gulf, and the Gulf of Oman, and a short drive away from Muscat, you can experience the breathtaking Hajar mountains and canyons.

Luxury hotel brands have created breathtakingly gorgeous properties near Muscat’s coast, in the Hajar mountain, and in Salalah.
